I love playing with egg roll stuffing. Last week I made “poutine egg rolls.” Fries cut an inch long or so, then crispy fried. Cheese curd and lightly dusted with beef broth powder all stuffed in an egg roll… then served with a peppery beef gravy for dipping. This weekend is going to be “cordon bleu egg rolls” with pulled chicken, cubed smoked ham, and some sort of dipping sauce. (I have suggestions for honey-mustard, and Swiss beer cheese.)
How long did it take to edit those cabbage cuts, ha!? Was thinking of doing the jalapeno stuffed buffalo chicken this weekend for the holiday party.....but buffalo egg rolls seem like a nice change! Great cook!
Could these be deep fried cold or do they need to be warmed up first? If fully assembled ahead of time, refrigerated or frozen, & then deep fried on serving day.
Recently did a similar cook with pulled pork instead of chicken, and a vinegar slaw, fried in wagyu beef tallow and they were soooo good! This is definitely going to be the next egg roll I make!

milstone bbq in ohio makes a pulled bbq pork egg roll with a chipotle ranch sauce that is amazing! These look just as fantastic. I'll be making these for the holidays for sure!

Recommendation if you're not the biggest fan of Bleu cheese - use gorgonzola. It's much milder in flavor and a good bit dryer than most other varieties of blue cheese so the texture is super firm but also creamy. Still gives you the blue cheese flavor but not overwhelmingly so.
My two favorite egg rolls are cheesesteak and corned beef. Both get made every year. Cheesesteak get made in another week for new years and the corned beef for St Patty’s
I too am no fan of blue cheese. However for an eggroll idea my favorite was a place that had philly cheesesteak eggrolls. They were so so good and I bet a direct heat cook of beef could be even better.

Buffalo chicken dip is a staple for party foods for us and I had the idea to do this same thing the last time I made some. Turned out fanTASTEic as well, but I just smoked up some bonesless skinless breasts because that's what we had on hand. Next time I am definitely doing a whole chicken to get that crispy skin and adding it to the egg rolls, because that sounds like an incredible addition to take these to the next level!
Next roll? Duh? Chudmaster FINALLY makes good Chudrizo sausage. Add boiled smashed potatoes, proper green chile strip, and a good bit of Oaxaca cheese. You will be rewarded.

Reuben egg rolls all day!
Try a dipping sauce for eggrolls. 1/2 cup apricot preserves and 1/4 cup soy sauce. Heat in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Dip eggrolls and enjoy.
