  • The Command Center building on the Nike complex in Cambria, New York, has garnered the attention of potential buyers. Let’s delve into the intriguing history and the current prospects for this unique property:
    Historical Context:
The Command Center was constructed during the Cold War era, equipped with two-foot concrete walls to withstand a nuclear strike.
Originally, it housed radar equipment that would triangulate with another radar station on Shawnee Road. Its purpose? To launch defensive missiles against Russian bombers or even intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
The missile silos, used for defense, were located underground near the Cambria Town Hall but have since been filled in.
Remarkably, the Command Center building has remained vacant for 40 years.

I grew up in the Town of Niagara, where my neighbor was a boiler operator there. He learned that trade in the Navy. He took me there at times when he was on the midnight shift. He showed me how to operate the huge payloader loading the coal for the boilers. And reading the charts. I was 14, 15 years old.
Hopefully, they will clean it up as it would be a good area to live.
The best thing this area got was WNY Urology.
