Usually if one is behind you they dont really overtake. They drive side-by-side for less than a second, brake and immedialety fall behind again.
Now they'll pass without problems and are more prone to ignore collisions!

This is due to scaling you scale down a world you gotta scale down speed too its why an rc car that can do 100mph looks weird and ridiculous

I love how he tops out at max speed and the AI with literally the same car just overtakes him, this mod really is insane.
You could modify gear ratios, aerodynamics and a lot more in this game. AI has probably rubberband+optimal settings.
@@AP13P This game also has slipstream, so unless you are far ahead they will take the position back.
the slipstream mechanic here is highly noticeable, your speedometer will suddenly rack up more speed even at sixth gear when you're drafting, allowing you to actually slingshot past your opponent

Pro Street is one of my top NFS games. It was their first departure form "arcade" style racing but somehow it still felt like NFS. I still have the PC disk for this game.
All-out Dogfight from start to (almost) end! (XD)
The second I saw that dive on the inside at 0:51, I knew it would be an all-out brawl for the first place.
This is exactly what was missing in the original PS - Opponents that make you work for that 1° place, instead of gifting it to you.
Honestly most of the time was because of the cars the AI were driving and because they don't use tune, but yeah sometimes they are stupidly slow in some tracks
@@KanzaiDoriftoz I fondly remember my fully upgraded 240 was beating many higher class cars including lambos. Yet they don’t tune and are very careful with not hitting you on actual courses, made it very easy at points.
@@KingofMGS Sometimes the car doesn't matter too much, even on the bouncy Muscle cars you could still win agaisnt the AI by a pretty good margin, you just need to control your car and that's it
this remides me of the Yellow line race in Radline. Sweet JP pops a another nitro kit in and starts pulling away from Sonoshee. and she can only watch as the Crab Sonoshee is tap out for speed.
I think the cars a tiered if u have a 1000hp Supra most the other guys will have over 1000hp in Lambos a gtrs
never has a difficulty tweak (and nice choice of music) sold a game so well for me, good friggin job man
One thing i love the most about pro street. the damage mechanics. I don't think we will ever see damage this good in gaming ever again

Eh, it was good but Race Driver GRID had an even better damage model imo. It's a shame that you're probably right and we won't see this kind of damage in racing games anymore, at least not in games with licensed cars
Before prostreet there was a game called "burnout" and "burnout 2" the whole game was ironically to see how fast you could go and how much damage you could take with dramatic and I mean DRAMATIC crashes LMAO

The speed races were the best IMO because of the Midnight Club from Japan in the 80's and 90's. Outside of Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, and maybe two other games, there is nothing that properly recreates the feeling of pushing your car to it's absolute limit for several minutes at a time.
The soundtrack works perfectly for this race. 😆 🤣

When tuning for speed challenge raise the suspension all the way, stiff it a bit. Slight negative camper and toe, like 2.5 only, stiff steering wheel.
Advanced high end boost start and end.
With that im good to go. Also be sure you got enough downforce 😂 with no downforce or weak downforce or not balancing the weight of the front bias with the rear you risk losing control and wrecking the entire thing

you pass the car over and over and over again, sometimes like 5seconds ahead, for it to slingshot back in front of you, and then randomly decide to break and slow down in places it shouldn't so you can catch up and have the process repeat. it's so gamey that it has zero immersion

Pro street was the last NFS I played and Completed at almost 10 fps with an outdated PC. Tried Undercover but it was too much for my pc. Since then never played any new NFS.
The newer installments like unbound I've heard are barely mid at best. So Idk if you're missing out on too much
Speed Races were cool as hell, but above 330kmh it was death
I think you could do with longer gearing in 6th haha

I remember i didnt like this game as a kid when it first came out. I didnt remember why so i picked it up again when i was like 14… yeah it was very easy to see why, just constant flash backs of the totaled screen and the announcer rubbing it in my face! I now love the game though

I just use underpowered cars compared to what the other racers have, however even on King difficulty I come first in pretty much very race which is a tad annoying
check for need for speed rebalance mod made by russian guy, it should be on playground site.
That mod is on the exact opposite end. It’s too difficult.

I put the gas to the metal, and go all out driving over 400kmph and never ever letting my foot off the gas and never know something called break, 😂as for how many times i crashed well... Soo many i don't need to use breaks anymore

It's called rubber banding. It becomes more prominent if you set higher difficulty.
