This song was a #1 hit in the US and in Canada on the Country charts in 1986. Interesting fact about the 1986 Billboard Country chart, no song was #1 for more than a week. The year had 52 different #1 singles.
I never thought of it as a country song. I don't care for country music, as a rule, but I liked this.

If I remember correctly, Richard Page did the backvocals on this one. He was the lead singer of Mr Mister. Anne Murray is a gem. We has so many hits at that time- in English and in French.

I agree 100%. Anne NEVER looked so unbelievably "SMOKIN HOT", and the other woman in this video was nothing compared to Anne. I found Anne looked so cute and sexy when she was waiting at the elevator, and turned away for the 2nd time, with that look of " Oh well, your loss buddy", I just thought she looked so alluring. Anne has always been exceptionally gorgeous, has basically never taken a bad photo, but in this video, made January, 1986, Anne was about 40½ years of age, and I think she looked much younger and one of, if not the most stunningly beautiful, gorgeous and all of the other pretty words in the dictionary, in this video!!!!

Omg my fav song of all time! My mom and her 5 sisters use to listen to all pf Anne Murrays songs and guess what? I got hooked and till today (altho my mom past) 2022 i still love and listen to all of her music! Her music gives me warmth and reminds me of my mom mostly singing to all of her music while her sisters sang along as well! Missin mama! Anne Murray's music will live on in my soul forever!

Yes, it will! I never knew then, how much so, that songs can leave a lasting impression even if at the time, I said to myself how irritating it was to hear their genre of music that was not even as close to mine! Mine was the 90's, but now history replay itself since I am left playing my "oldies," which my kids claim it is old....to only catch them listening to it later on! 🤣

But now i look back on the same music that i once found boring or uninteresting and often find myself feeling teary eyed. I guess music has that ability to bring memories flooding back to us. No doubt music of today, that i now once again feel boring or uninteresting (yes i have come full circle) will one day bring back nostalgic memories for the youngsters of today. Such is life! Keep smiling Grace and sometimes sing to your children just to annoy them....ha ha 😀👍
