many thanks.. splitting the gauls and iberian scutarii is very easy... slight cut around the shoulder/shield edge... use some snips at the base and then simply bend back...then a quick clean up with a blade.
@@mhewson many thanks. I use base ready mix from geek gaming. Cracking on with some Romans now. Seem to paint quite quick with the warlord 3 rank bases
Superb, glad you are posting again. Your plans look great. I am also aiming for the Trebbia order of battle, but doing a bit of a duo by also doing Trebbia with the boardgame SPQR (Great Battles of History by GMT). I haven’t glued anything down yet, so I am pleased that you have showed this system, which I like very much. What size bases are you using? I am intrigued by your Roman base … a good imagining of a ‘small’ unit.
thanks, appreciated. I am using 90x70mm bases for Cavalry, warbands and Phalanx units and 90x40mm bases for standard/skirmish units. I thought the 90x70mm bases would look better for that classic chequerboard pattern of roman units.
Very good! And they look much better than how there ‘designed’ to be
Thanks. appreciated. I do prefer the larger bases..I feel better than straight lines of troops for this period
That's so original and looks brilliant mate
@@jamesforrest8993 many thanks
Very very nice mate, thank you for the inspiration
many thanks. glad I could help. hopefully a battle report in the near future.
Really nice army
many thanks
Great looking Army, love the bases and the way you've applied them. Looking forward to seeing the Romans. Well done👍
many thanks. I am working on the romans at the moment. done 1 unit each of hastati/principes and triarii and velites. just got to base them.
Excellent! I'm a fan of 'diorama' basing, doing the same with 28mm, but makes great sense in this scale!
thanks. yes I do prefer to have some activity on bases.
I really like the basing especially how the cavalry look
@@marksfishfrenzy thanks. I wasn't keen on the bases that came in the box
love that approach to basing them - i originally had the same idea but havent yet been brave enough to split a strip yet! Very effective

Excellent - I've split my Napoleonic strips v easily and I think it'll give me more flexibility in how I field them. Your stands really do look great
thanks. yep did same with my Napoleonic strips.
You painted the heck out of those troops! Cheers mate.
thanks pal
Nice to see you back mate, and they look superb
many thanks. Good to be back. Hopefully this will be one of those magical projects that get finished.
Truly splendid, some impressive and realistic stands here Scotty...Thumbs up!!
many thanks. Credit goes to warlord for some very nice figures that look good on mass.
Well I'm a convert to your basing system - they look grand. what are you using for your basing materials? I hope to see your romans soon!

Terrific looking army, well done indeed. Can I ask what scale the figures are please?
thanks. they are warlord games epic scale. so about 13mm
Great work, they look splendid! What sizes are the MDF-bases?
thanks. I am using 90x70mm bases for Cavalry, warbands and Phalanx units and 90x40mm bases for standard/skirmish units
cool!
Good job, these look great. What materials are you using for your basing?
I use a ready mix from Geek Gaming Scenics. They have quite a few options.

@@scotty7906 thanks, its absolutely inspiring, I’ve watched it 3 times now!
Lovely looking forces! What rules are you using? Modified HC?
thanks. Am using the Hail caesar rules that come in the starter set
Looks good
Kinda curious how you play them by the rules
@@jimboonlyone thanks. Just doing some Romans so hopefully a test game soon
nice job
