Yeah, those are Samsung 25r. Very popular in the vape community. I'm glad to see Hart uses reputable cells and not no-name garbage cells

Nominal voltage is 36v, fully charged is 42v. Ten 18650's is 42v at 2500mah. Put another ten 18650's in parallel with the first ten, hence twenty 18650's ..you get 42v at 5000mah or 5.0AH.

Those are Samsung 25r 18650s. They are 4.2v cells, so 20 if them in parallel would be able to be rated at 40v

almost all 18650's clearly state on them 3.6v or 3.7v but charging voltage is 4.2v. but I note that in the video.

@@bobspurloc yeah they technically didn’t lie. So long as maximum charge is at or above 40v when new then they can sell it as such. It’s just cheap and underhanded. Few companies do this. They typically use enough so the nominal voltage meets or exceeds designated rating. In this case most other brands would have used 11 series batteries. Most likely Panasonic or Sony for the 3500 mAh capacity for a better pack, but honestly Samsung is good too. I see why the reviews on Hart equipment are poor for long term usage and battery capability. I think I will modify my pack to use the higher capacity batteries that have a higher discharge rate. I’ve been building packs for years now and I have discovered capacity is not always key it’s the discharge rate. A battery back for a 1KW motor in lithium would generally be 20Ah at 35A max discharge. I used a battery pack made of Ford C-Max cells that were 5.5Ah and 200A discharge. I got nearly the exact same distance from both packs. The Panasonic and Sony 18650 cells can achieve 35A discharges so 2P would make 70A. These Samsung cells probably only have 20-25A rate each.

@@samfish90212 If only the world were so simple... In power tools a 40 volt is typically 10s, or 10 cells in series. That makes sense, since 20 volt power tools in pretty much every brand are 5s. Note Ryobi with their 18volt (also 5s) and Kobalt with their 24volt (6s). If 5s is 20v then 10s should be 40v, right? And then you get to EGO with their 56 volt which is 14s. Hey the math is consistent! But then you have a few that are 10s that do not call it 40volt, and that is enough to make the whole mess uncertain.
Then if you go to the eBike world, they typically call a 14s 52 volt, and 48v is more common, which is a 13s. That math doesn't work at all. And some vendors sell a 12s as 48v (at least that math matches the power tools).
But this isn't just a new thing that started with lithium-ion cells. That ubiquitous 12v car battery is a 6s, and the cells are actually 2.1v nominal when fully charged (giving you 12.6 volt) but you have to charge it to 14v or so (sometimes as high as 14.5v and equalize at 15v) which is 2.3-2.5 volt per cell, analogous to the li-ion 4.2vpc. If you go to a golf car and put 3 of those 12v batteries in series you get what is called 36 volt, or 4 in series you get 48 volt. Sometimes instead of 12 volt blocks you might use 6 volt "golf car batteries" or 8 volt batteries (3 cell and 4 cell, respectively) to get the same 18 cells for a 36v or 24 cells for 48v. But that 48v battery with 24 cells at 2.1 volt / cell fully charged is actually 50.4 volts, and to fully charge it to 2.3 volt per cell is actually 55.2v. A 48v lead acid battery matches usable voltage really well with a 14s lithium-ion battery like the EGO battery which is called 56volt or what the eBike world calls 52volt.
It's enough to make your head spin when you try to work out between different manufacturers exactly what they are doing.

AH is Amp Hour. Not amps. The actual current draw is most likely different. So it most likely does draw more than 180 watts. But those are WH watt hours. They are a different kind of measurement than standard watts, amps and volts. The reason why you math doesn't add up is because you are using the wrong math for the values you are given.
As for how many amps each cell can output is based on 2 things. The first being the capacity of each cell and also the max current output of each cell. These two values can be different. You can have a 3.5 AH battery and it can output 10 amps safely because they are 10 Amp cells. There are cells that are 3.5 AH and they can safely output 25 amps. And some that are less expensive output 8 amps but are 3.5 AH.
They didn't put tape there because it is all insulated already with the plastic battery holders. So there is no need for it.

I had a 2.5ah battery that came with the chainsaw when I bought it used off of market place and died on me after using it twice. When I tore Into it to salvage the cells inside was a mess with corrosion from being left outside in the rain anyways they had the exact same cells as yours same size pack only half filled with cells where my 2ah pack is half the size
