honestly i think they do need to rework gerald cus killing it is actually so toxic
what i feel like it should do is make it
1.drop the item quicker maybe like 4 seconds as opposed to how long it takes rn
2.be invincible to stop killing gerald
3. make it kb other players a decent amount away when it digs the item up so that you can get it(includiing teamates)

You could give Gerald more health plus mark players that spawn it and attack it. If the attacking party isn't on the same team as the player who spawned it, its a bit toxic but fair. If the enemy can't be sure they can get it, better to ensure you don't either in case its a powerful legendary.
If they're on the same team and they attack it a few times within a short time period (a few times to validate it wasn't accidental), auto report the individual then mark Gerald invincible.
There is so few cases where killing Gerald as the team that spawned it would be beneficial considering the short time it takes for Gerald to spawn something and leave. If an enemy happens to rush you the moment you placed one down then just appeal the report afterwards or perhaps add a function to scan the nearby area for other enemy players and see if that's the case and if it is DON'T make Gerald invincible to keep the option open to players. Other than that it really is just being annoying just because you can be.

@@imjustjoshin2859 yeah i get what u mean i feel like there really wont be that scenario u used to justify killing ur own teams' gerald cus if ur in a big group then they cant really steal the item or they'll get webbed and quick-dropped and could easily fight them off so the only way that that scenario could play out is if there are many more enemies and you have to abandon the gerald which is when killing the gerald is fine but even then, they could easily make that scenario even more rare by simply just making gerald get the item quicker which is a change that I still stand by cus there really is no reason to not do it.
