  • Tracking: Wild vs Domestic Canine Tracks
    One of the most common questions we get about animal tracking is from people simply trying to find out if the track they found is from a wild or domestic canine. We have found over our years of tracking instruction that learning this distinction is the best place to start tracking, as it is the foundation for opening our eyes to the finer details that come later.
    For the next several episodes of Into Their World, we will be taking you on an exploration of how to read what animals have left behind. We will show you how to identify tracks, scat, and sign of common animals in the United States. But it's more than just classifying the tracks, it's about an animal being hungry, pregnant, wounded, a member of a group, predator or prey, and so much more. Please join us on this journey!

    many years ago I had the fantastic luck to come a cross a grey/ black fox and a black cat starring each other down no more than 10 feet away from me....it was alsome.
    I love to nature walk in the dawn light. The urban jungle can be fun too.

      Thanos Infinity wow! That's a fantastic story! How lucky to see the fox, and interacting with the cat, too?! People are often amazed at what animals live among them in the urban areas. They are more resilient than we give credit! 😁

    4:59 I really thought you were going to say, "The most reliable way to determine if the animal is wild or domestic is to follow it for a while, and ask yourself: Do I feel lucky?"

    Oh my god, it's pronounced CIE-OH-TEE! Not COY-OTE!

    • @NatureTechFamily
      @NatureTechFamily  7 лет назад +3

      マンアンディ apparently, Webster's Dictionary disagrees that there's only one way to pronounce that word. noun coy·ote \kī-ˈō-tē, chiefly Western ˈkī-ˌōt\
