Dang, I miss the 80's. This was the first Too $hort tape I had in '88... I had a dub-cassette of this tape, back when "dub" still meant "a copied cassette tape," and not 20" rims or a $20 sack of bud, but I digress... Anyway, I had a dubbed copy of "Life Is Too $hort, when I was 11, from a friend of mine who's mom let him listen to Too $hort, 2 Live Crew, NWA, and all the "Explicit Lyrics" type of tapes... But my parents were strict Catholics... I remember bumpin' this type of stuff and having to run and turn the volume down every time a curse word came on! Obviously, I only could listen to this track with a Walkman, or when my parents were'nt home... My friends with the "cool" parents would always clown me when I had to turn the curse words down, but they weren't the ones getting whooped with a belt or a broomstick, or that big wooden "Stregganona" spaghetti spoon, from my Sicilian mother (the Italians/Sicilians know what I'm talking about! ...at least the older ones).
This was my first cassette I bought when I was 11..... 28 years ago. F I’m old now 😭
