- Everything is bigger in Texas, but this is also true for Chihuahua, its neighboring state on the other side of the border.
This is why, the burrito, the biggest taco of them all was created there.
On this episode of Todos Los Tacos, our taco guru Francisco “El Fara” Gómez takes us to Ciudad Juarez and to El Paso on a tour full of salsas, quesos, frijoles, folkloric music & wrestling.

Agreed! 👍
Yep
The coolest*.

Oh man, a Chile Relleno burrito sounds absolutely divine.
Every time I go to El Paso or Juarez, I get one..or five. I have yet to find a place that equals the way they make it there.
Best kind of burrito, and I'm pretty sure you can do it yourself.
There bomb, i go to this place in Fullerton CA its called El Camino Real and they sell some really good Chile Relleno Burritos as well as Burritos de Lonja( Pork Skin)
@@davidtrejo6087 yeah i miss those burritos a place in San Diego CA called El Gran Taco made those and the carnitas burritos with just the right amount of salt Authentic Mexican food the best food in the world
if you live in california its easy to find a great chile relleno burrito just about any mexican restaurant. Its my favorite burrito. I worked at a place called juanitas where we had some fire burritos, miss it there..
I'm from Juarez and watching parts of my hood in vice is definitely a surreal expierence

back in the early 80s there was a guy who used to come to our dealership from juarez ( i was in las cruces new mexico) that had his old wagon filled up with coolers full of water and different kinds of burritos. i still remember how delicious those were.
if you go to el paso on schuster street youll still find the food vans, they just sell to highschoolers from el paso high now haha
@@jonc7371 so they won't sell to you if you're not a student there :(?
Hey @Munchies.. let this man drink a beer with his goddamn burritos. This is one of the better personalities on your channel, and he shines with a little bit of alcohol lol
I have stopped many times in Villa Ahumada to eat Quesadillas and Burritos!!!
Yeah we can tell
What assholes your last two comments
Don’t listen to them William I can’t tell anything your hot .. they are such jerks .

Francisco needs to be drinking the whole show
Whenever I visit family in Chihuahua I make my family stop in Villa Ahumada cause if we don’t stop then there is no point in me going down there.
Best burritos (especially los de chile colorado), asadero, and salsa that you are ever going to taste!!!

Haha man this is gold
My man took a page from the Saul Goodman playbook of laying low. A Cinnabon would've been more conspicuous in Mexico, though...
Love "All the Tacos". In this espisode they translated guisados as casseroles. It seems an odd choice when stew seems like a more natural fit. But I am still trying to imagine what casserole I would most want wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla.
Yeah I thought that guisado meant stew. Can anybody confirm or deny that?
Casserole also works. www.wordreference.com/es/en/translation.asp?spen=guisado
Green bean casserole
I would try chicken or beef and cheese casserole in a flour tortilla. Anything else would just seem weird. I agree that guisados to me were always stewed meat. At least that's how my grandmother made it.
it depends really. you could put a stew or a casserole dish in a burrito. it can be dry or wet, both foods go well into a burrito.
Lol I guess they got a Sidral soda sponsor.
Wya Modelo?
8:02 with that amount of avocado, Im in love
Whenever I visit my hometown of El Paso I go to La Gorda! Truly authentic cuisine. Rafa’s is incredible, too. Like eating breakfast at my late mother’s house.
La Gorda & Rafa’s huh? Got it! I like to write down places to go in case I’m ever in that area
I love how the burrito expert in Juarez is built af. I was half expecting a chubby foodie! I guess I need to re-examine my biases :)
Looking forward to take a bite out of his burrito?
La cultura de Cd. Juarez/El Paso es unica. Me da gusto que estos lugares representan una parte de nuestra gastronomia. Siempre unidos 🇲🇽🇺🇸!

I was eating "burritos when a young boy in California over seventy years ago. Wrapping anything in a tortilla has been happening for hundreds of years, as a child we called them tacos. Didn't hear them called Burrito's till I became a young man in the sixties, burrito is just a different name for what we called a taco.
I laugh when people say the burrito was invented in the US 😆
The people in the south deny the existence of northern Mexico
@@betochiwas they travel to the North more often.
@@wbc1 I meant Mexican people, in Mexico city you mention something about Chihuahua's culture or food and you receive pharases like: "No, burritos are not Mexican because they are not popular here, REAL Mexicans celebrate Day of the dead, no; in Mexico I have never heard about the Raramuri traditions but they are not important , what is Sotol?, no mexican food doesn't have so much beef. " etc

I love this series. I need to travel and eat more. Keep them coming.
I remember growing up I had friend who’s dad owned a gas station and he had a bodega that sold burritos he said he brought the idea from Mexico and this was in the 1950’s in cuidad juarez we’re the burrito was invented. Fun fact: a chimichanga is a burrito just smothered in cheese with your optinal meat. Still a burrito just named different also Mexican decent along with nachos also a Mexican appetizer from Mexico decent.

I remember the Mexican field workers eating burritos more than 60 years ago. Back then, anything rolled into a tortilla was called a "taco", much like gringos call anything between slices of bread a "sandwich".

I was born in the bay area norcal buttb my mom from sonora i love a good stack burrito from sonora the best stack
As expected Californians are complaining about the origins of the burrito. California created the Mission style burrito in San Francisco but the original flower tortilla originated in Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Chihuahua started seeing the word “Burritto” first then Sonora then Baja California which eventually crossed over to West Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The other 3 border states in Mexico kept the size of the flour tortilla the same size of a corn tortilla to use for tacos. The tortilla gets bigger and thinner the more west u travel and thicker and smaller the more east u go. What goes inside of the burrito or taco also changes depending where u r at as well.
