      I just reviewed the video of lubing the front suspension I made and I am un happy with it, I believe the stabilization on my go pro is not working correctly so I may do a reshoot.

    After jacking up the front end i could not find a decent access point to spray the lubricant, esp on the friction side @the lower control arm(?)

    • @E.T.GARAGE
      @E.T.GARAGE  Год назад

      it helps to unbolt the shocks, that allows the lower a arm to lower just a bit and use a jack with a block of wood to raise the spring. ruclips.net/video/0GOwsHPMpew/видео.html

    How do I identify if I have Z51 suspension on my 1994 C4 coupes manual 6 speed? I'm going to replace the shocks and want to get the right set of Bilstein's

    I put new bilstein shocks which improved my ride but is there anything to do to soften the sharp jolts that are felt when going over small bumps or even the reflector things on the road? I would assume new rubber bushings all around and maybe softer tires?

    • @E.T.GARAGE
      @E.T.GARAGE  3 года назад +2

      Bushings will help, but there is only so much you can do for the C4 suspension other than coil overs witch I have never tried, the C4 suspension has very limited travel also what suspension do you have, if you have the stiffer Z51 suspension you could find the base model springs for your year C4 and swap to those. I have a video on changing out the rear spring. I my self have soft ride springs front and rear and Ride tech shocks adjustable help quit a bit but expensive.

      84-87 and 88-96 were totally changed, angles (bolts and general geometry) and stiffness.
      GM went from a philosophy of stiff springs and shocks to provide handling, to an idea of better geometry, bigger swaybars to provide handling. Simply because the ride quality on the 85-87 cars is rather harsh if you have Z51, and on all 84s.

      Sounds funny but there have been times I have been out in my garage when it's that cold. Though I normally don't lube my suspension then.
