The problem with this dance is that Jade is Vietnamese, Abby said she was portraying a geisha, and the music and costume are Chinese. There are differences between Asian cultures that need to be recognized.

Jade is Vietnamese, but fits the role of a Chinese girl, so she was made to do a piece inspired by the Chinese culture (which was absolutely beautiful!). Same with Nia; Abby made Nia play the black characters in group dances and solos that the white dancers couldn’t do. This is typecasting. Not racist. This is how this type of industry works, and this is the hard truth. I am both an actor and dancer myself, and I am always made to do parts based off my looks. In this industry, appearance make or break the character you’re portraying.
A beautiful solo, I love both instrumentals, apart Jade made it look easy, a beautiful choreography with such perfect flexibility, it is the best in the world, this for my eyes is like a blessing, Jade is a great dancer, I enjoyed seeing her in dance moms, I still remember my 2014, good years and memories, amo este solo 😍
