@EMRO The great deal with child labor is not so much about children losing their time working instead of playing, but about exploitation. A child cant own money. Anything they earn belong to the parents. Essentially, children that work, even when they're paid, are slaves. But sometimes it becomes a necessity for the survival of the parents and the children, which is awful. There's no simple solution, but we cant sit and pretend it's a good thing they're working and making a living.
Judging from what you’re saying then, the only solution is for the workforce itself (in these third world countries) to organize and collectively bargain, in other words unionize. The only ones who can unionize the workforce is the workers themselves. But who knows if these workers in these countries are even aware of what unionizing and collective bargaining are. I’m sure we’d all support them going on strike for better pay and conditions, but will they? Who knows.
Rather than complaining about SHEIN working conditions, donate to a charity instead to help them. If the company goes down they wont find a job and they might resort to working in a much more shtty place.
Drop the word canceled for things like this. It's so over saturated now since anyone can be 'cancelled' at the drop of the hat for the stupidest things. The sad thing is these kids do this willingly because they need to support their families with anything they can get, this is some families only way to get any money at all.
I remember hearing stores from when my grandmother was a kid. It wasn't uncommon for mothers to make clothes for their kids. One woman who was in her 90s talked about floral dresses her mother would make from flour sacks. Back then the flour came in cloth sacks with floral prints on them. They would buy the sack of flour and then make a dress out of the cloth sack once the flour was used up. I think sewing is a skill I think every parent could benefit from learning.

YOU have to learn to make all of that which is obviously very stupid. people pay for this stuff for a reason and we should spend time pressuring companies to properly pay their employees and give them fair working conditions. wasting time on saying stuff like “omg u use iphone so u wrong LOLLOLL” is such a waste of time and DOESNT HELP ANYONE 💀

Thank you for posting this. I will start going back sewing my own clothes
There is more clothes companies than just shein you can buy from
Here will you sew mine too plz. 2c.a day. 😮
I am suspicious about your video editing. Yes, there are child labor in clothing industry in India, but that's H&M, Gap, Navy Blue... Shein is made in China. Also you might consider the clothing being cheap, but that is how much you buy a polyester clothing in China anyway. People's monthly income is much lower in China, cost of living is also much lower. For example , you could eat a meal for less than $0.5 us dollars in China, but a hamburger in the US cost around $5. Clothing of Chinese brand cost 4-5 dollors are everywhere on the street unless they are buying a foreign brand. So Shein simply made the chinese price tag available to America. The normal Chinese clothing factory will do it. That doesn't have to use child labor, or cause any harm.
i’ve known this for forever even before people started noticing. my friends would say “ooh look at this cute shirt from shein i think i’m gonna buy it!” and id say not to because they use child labor but they didn’t care and kinda ignored me. now here we are, shein is being canceled.

The workers need help, yes. But if a worker ever wrote Help on a piece of clothing, that's a dead man. I can't believe how selfish people can be, we pretend to to these things just for attention.
People would rather ignore these children and keep buying cus they can’t afford anything cute or expensive.
I would rather have old rusty clothes than contribute to this seriously.
People buy things they literally don't need. They are 'tempted' by the low price. But they aren't only buying low quality goods but practically slave labor goods.
Buy when you need, buy from thrift shops, buy/adopt clothes from your family, it's how one can reduce this.
Edit: Something I did with one of my old favourite shirts which i had since I was a young teen. I cut the sleeves + neckline. Given how good of a quality it is, it suffered no damage minus my snipping. Still wearing it.
Maybe you forgot there are a lot of child labors abuse in the States that went silence and unmentionable to the world. Look into yourself before you accused somebody else. And until now nobody got concrete evidence against Shein child labor accusations. This is pure a smearing campaign against China corporations that the US had failed to compete with.
I honestly used to be fine with thrift until bed bugs. Now I just cant
Youd be surprised how many thrift stores carry shein
@@whatthedogdoin3855 I'll guess it's an USA thing. Here thrift stores buy batches of discarded clothing from EU countries, mostly Germany. It's their prime marketing tactic for majority of them, plus if there's still a tag or if it's a famous brand.
This is why I shop at thrift stores and yard sales
Honey listen I shop at thrift stores and I've worked at goodwill, their ok...
