The fact that many stays can relate to this. Like losing a friend, a relationship, a friendship. It's very emotional to know that this does happen in life and knowing the feeling of being heartbroken to move on. In my opinion, I find this line very detailed. It has a huge meaning behind it. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same but this song has actually helped me a lot. I interpret the lyrics as him loving someone who is suicidal and promised that they wouldn’t do anything they may regret but after a while everything gets too much for them and they end up committing suicide, and so Chris writes a song to express his sadness after their death. I like to think that this is how he would feel if it was me who passed away, it just makes me feel loved, it aids in keeping me alive. I wish I could thank Chan in person for being the reason I’m still alive, I love this man so much 🥺💖
