How to fix some common problems with your boiler

- If you find your heating and hot water are not working it is likely to be a problem with your boiler. This video will show you how you can do a couple of simple things to get it working again in a few minutes.
One of the most common problems is low pressure and you can see Nadine explain how easy it is to increase this on your boiler.

Low pressure can sometimes be caused when your radiators need bleeding or if you have any radiator leaks or a leak on your boiler.
Always ensure that you bleed your radiators when they need it and to report any leaks to Bron Afon.

This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

Thank you for this video. I had to keep switching on and off, or resetting, my boiler before it would eventually start working, and thought I might have to call up to get it fixed, but it's now working fine again.

Yes I had this problem with the boiler you mention in my old house, have since moved into another house and have the same boiler . But a different problem this time the boiler seems to gain pressure, getting too much pressure above 2 bar . Getting a repair done soon having had boiler serviced one outstanding thing needs doing to it. Will see if that solves the problem.

Hi I saw your videos and I really enjoyed it keep up the good work.
I have a Main Eco 30 Combi boiler I was fitted about 7 years ago, the whole pipe work is new and radiators.
There is one thing that annoys me on my boiler is that when ever is ignites it makes a small tiny explosive noise you can hear it from far 😫
I have so far replaced the electrodes since it was old and bent (it was working but I wanted to avoid it failing), the heat exchanger was hoovered and the seal was replaced, the diverter valve and actuator was replaced (since a small leak damaged it).
I have regularly flashed the water out using the drain point and running the boiler and keeping an eye on the pressure (the water is never too dark and flush it until it is clear water, I added some inhabitors, clean the filter out and took the air out of the rads, it is well balanced too.
I had to pressurise the extension vessel which is good now, on the same time I took the prv out and cleaned it very little dirt on it it’s working good, I also cleaned out the part in which condensation and other dirt accumulate.
There is one thing that annoys me on my boiler is that when ever is ignites it makes a small tiny explosive noise you can hear it from far 😫, you could describe it like a small delayed ignition 🤷🏽♂️

So far so good, I have the 0.3 bar problem and flashing number hopefully it will be ok. Is it right once you got it to 1.0 it will drop again as it has dropped to 0.7? Or does my agency still need to get someone to come look at it

hi. my gloworm boiler has devolped a fault with the hot water only. system is sitting at 1.0 pressure and fires for a few seconds when you turn the tap on then it cuts off again. water only gets warm for a few seconds then runs cold. this is followed by a funny noise coming from the boiler like water is making a humming noise. do you have any ideas please?

If you increase the pressure from 0.4Bar to say 1.5Bar using mains water (via the detachable loop) you MUST check the density of your water from any radiator to ascertain the Antifreeze (eg Fernox Protector) ratio to water so that none of your pipes freeze up during Winter or really cold spells. Ideally top up your middle radiator after draining some water, with Antifreeze (Fernox -11 Protector) and check with a hydrometer after circulation that you are safe to at least -8C minimum. I treat mine down to -11C

Hi i have ideal logic combi ESP135 boiler during the annual service the guy said that my boiler have problem with gas valve and need to be replaced. Iam not convinced with what he said so i will be thankful if you can please tell me what faulty code will it show on the boiler if something is wrong with gas valve and how can we notice that the gas valve is gone. Great video but not many videos on older boilers. Mine is an ideal classic FF230 boiler ran but did not ignite. Fan ran I could hear ignition spark and the gas valve made a noise but obviously did not open. PCB I thought get a boiler man in. Well his diagnosis was the Sam but he would also change the pressure switch. How much can't get parts he said, but I will make a call. His price was just short of £700. You should fit a new boiler he said £2660, 12 year guarantee ok I. Said but he was charging me for a pressure relief valve I said the system had one not on the boiler loop he said we could not agree so I elected to source the part and do it myself. eBay is awash with genuine parts for this boiler new PCB £50:00 15 to fit job done boiler work. Gas safe gas fiddle more like
Can someone help me please. The pressure is now too high! I closed the valve at 1.1 bar but it slowly went up without me noticing. It's now around 2 bar and it keeps going up very slowly even though i closed it.

the worst thing happened to my mums boiler basically what happened is mum put the heating on before everyone went to bed then in the morning i went down stairs and seen that the thermostat said off i was so fucking confused so i went up to mum to tell her that the thermostat said off when she seen the thermostat she was confused as fuck so we went up to the boiler and it was off so mum pushed the power button and nothing happened so she pushed it a million times nothing happed so she called the people that installed the heating when they came they were checking out the boiler and then we were all shocked when we found out the boiler had malfunctioned and wouldnt turn on so it had to be replaced now we have new boiler its the same as the malfunctioned one but better
