On the knit side you slip 2 but you say u slip one. I have been knitting 1 then slip 1, knit 1 psso is it ok to do that too still? Also on the purl side you still slip 1 on 1st stitch but I've been purling 1st stitch. I like yours. I do the last 3 like you too. I knit traditionally, but it's interesting to see you do the left hand. I'll have to try it. Thanks for your easy video. 🧶🥀🧶
Welcome! I slipped 2 on the knit side. The first ONE that was slipped is just the edge stitch. The SSK is slip 2 knitwise, then place the 2 back and k both through back loop just like in the video 😁
Decrease happens every other row so you would work the wrong side as normal. In this example it’s stockinette so yes, you just Purl on the wrong side there are ways to decrease on a Purl st too it’s just not shown in this video
@@DesignsbyPhanessa oooh so only decrease on the knit side, and purl side just purl the stitches normally? that explains why people don’t show it in their videos haha
For the SSK, why not just knit the two stitches together through the back loop instead of going through the trouble to slip the two stitches when the stitches are being put back on the left needle immediately after slipping? And, if for some reason that is not acceptable, why not at least cut down the process a bit and slip the two stitches at the same time instead of one at a time. Or, is the "one at a time" simply to make things clear for the one learning? Thanks!
You can skip the slipping back part since you’re already set up to knit through back loop. As for slipping 2 sts at a time, you slipping knitwise so it’s harder to do both at the same time.
Designs by Phanessa Thank you for your reply. So that means at the beginning of the purl side row it should be purl, slip stitch, purl, and psso and towards the end it should be p2tog?
God bless you for including both continental and english style!
🥰

i still don’t understand what happens on the purl side, do you decrease on that side aswel or only on the knitting side and just purl normally?

Yes. It depends on the pattern too. Generally you decrease every other row

excellent explanation
I have a pattern that says I have to decrease 1 stitch at each end of every row for 4 rows. How do I do it on the purl side?
Hiba Moeen purl the last 2 sts together (p2tog)
