Love it! I'm healing from a broken elbow and need to learn flexion exercises. Thanks for your positive upbeat delivery and showing how to correctly do the exercises.

I dislocated my elbow a month ago, no breaks or tears. I have my second follow up this Friday and am hoping to start PT, I will discuss these exercises with the Dr. I really need recover fast, I am scheduled to leave for military training in 3-months.

Talk to your PT first because your injury is so acute. These maybe more beneficial later on for you.

      @@OverheadAthletics thank you.
I am still two weeks out from my first visit with OT. But Orthopedics said to work it, pull it, stretch is until then. He showed me a few similar exercises and said to do them. The priority is ROM then strength building. It has been 5 days and I have improved alot. Almost full supination. Extension I can go full when laying in the ground and supported, but not while standing. Flexion has improved to where I can touch my face. With flexion I would bend and feel a "wall" and couldn't move past it. Now when I hit the wall I can bend a little farther, unassisted, with focused effort.
Thank you for the video and knowledge.

Thank you for the video! I have been trying hard to restore my range of mevement after an elbow surgery for the last 4 months. So far I have managed to get full extension ( 0 degrees) but my healthy arm can do a bit more than that. Elbow flexion is so far 125 degrees while untrained. When I do the flexion exrecises I can achieve almost the same flexion as my healthy arm has but there is still a tiny difference, like 3-5 degrees. However, in an hour after training I return back to 125 degrees and when I wake up I might have even less. My doctor told me to keep exrecising and that it must get better. Are there any exercises for advanced flexion, when you can already lay all your fingers on the shoulder but still have some difference between the injured and the healthy arm?

My surgery was 9 months ago. I comitted to physical therapy for 5 months. My problem is flexion. I'm improving very slowly.
After about 7 months of exercising, now I can touch my shoulder but only during exercise. I'm still working on the few centimetres left. I'm afraid that I stopped improving. Any advice?

I'm 3 weeks post-surgery, I had a plate and screws installed for a pretty severe distal humerus fracture. The surgeon and Drs are saying everything looks normal, but I cannot flex my arm past a 90 degree angle no matter how hard I try. I'm really worried I won't be able to get a good enough ROM to get back to weightlifting/bodybuilding. I start physical therapy on thursday but i will try this

I cant hold a frontbar in a rack position. Can i use these exercises or do u recommend something else ? I still lift and do handstands and so on.

I can't mobilized it normally, it stuck when get 90° position if 180° normal condition of elbow motion, can you tell what is the problem ? Hi sir. My 7 year old daughter broke her elbow, got operated 3 months ago , cast was removed after 6 weeks and we have been exercising regulay after that but Flexion is only 90 degrees. She has been receiving aggressive therapy since last month but physio says that muscles are in guarding effect. It would be extremely kind of you if you can suggest anything for betterment???

    • @OverheadAthletics

I would see if she can do some of these self controlled techniques. Often there is less muscle guarding when the individual is in control of the range they go through. Start gentle.

    • @OverheadAthletics
