@@ArtIsRight Hi Art, I'm still having the over saturated issues with the new PMU software, I've just sent you an email detailing what's going on and what I've tried already, hopefully you'll understand what's happening.
Hi Art, I'm not sure if you can help but I've recently upgraded to PMU, carried out a calibration and for some reason all of a sudden, everything I view on screen is way over saturated, as if someone has selected +50 saturation in photoshop. I've got the SW240 and calibrate with the Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro, I'm working on an M1 Mac Mini and connecting to the monitor using a USB-C to display port cable along with a USB cable when carrying out the calibration. I've had this setup for over a year and had no issues with the old PME software. I downloaded and calibrated with PMU last week and all seemed fine, but every now and again, the color's seemed to 'jump' for some reason, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I've booted up this morning and indeed every program is way over saturated, all images in safari seem far too saturated and just to check, I fired up Lightroom where I keep some images that I compare to test prints and indeed they are way too saturated, as if someone has selected +50 in saturation. I know I could go back and use PME but as you can imagine, I'd rather use the latest software, I just can't figure out what's happening. Thanks for any advice you can give.
If you singed into PMU, click on the "I" on the bottom left of the Home Screen, click on Account and then Export Log ID. DM me or email me the ID number, I'll forward this to BenQ. Either that or go to /Users/(User Account)/Library/Application Support/BenQ/PaletteMasterUltimate/log inside that folder there's a log file email that to me will work as well. My email info is in the about section of my main RUclips page.
@@ArtIsRight Hi Art, thanks for reaching out. Not that it helps anybody now, but I've removed PMU from the computer. I went through a process of elimination yesterday and discovered that it was the software itself that was giving me problems. I assume it's standard for PMU to be always open on startup (Mac), even after I made sure 'open at login' was unticked and the program itself was removed from my dock, it always launched, even when using a profile it didn't create. I launched PME again and carried out a calibration, even after five reboots PMU would launch and the Home Screen/Safari/Lightroom were all completely over saturated, as I said, even after five reboots, it was always the same. I removed PMU from the computer, carried out a fresh calibration with PME and since then it's been fine, and I've rebooted around 50 times trying everything. If you want, I can reinstall PMU and try again, if I get the same issue I'll happily send you the Export Log ID.
@@ArtIsRight Thanks for your help though, I've sent you £5 as a thank you, not a huge sum of money I know but I wanted to show my appreciation. As I said in my other reply, I can reinstall PMU again if you'd like and try again.
@@ArtIsRight Hi Art, I've re installed the software and 'troubleshooting' has generating this Eport Log ID; 008D85F457D29CAAAE59650161D72D71 I'm not sure if this will contain enough information, I will re-calibrate and leave PMU installed to see what happens over the next few days. I'm under the impression that if the worse comes to the worse, I can still create a profile with PMU, delete the software from the computer and the profile would still work perfectly?
Hi, I recently bought a SW271C refurb which is essentially new. I connected my Colormunki Photo device and selected i1 Studio in Palette Master Ultimate. It all worked fine and the profile was created; however, it looks like Windows 11 does not apply the profile to the monitor. In other words, when I create the profile using the Colormunki proprietary software, it creates the profile and it applies it to windows 11 automatically as I can see the color change in my display, however, when I create the profile in PMU, there is no change in my display. Even if I go to Windows Color Management and manually select the profile created in PMU and set it as default, there is no change. I wonder if this is an issue with Windows or PMU.
Not necessary, the profile from PMU are designed not to alter the color output from your computer because all the color adjustment is already done on the display. So what you're really seeing there is in line with expectation. However, if you have any further questions about this, I would recommend that you direct message me.
I just took delivery of a SW262U and I can't wait to be fully set up and running! Problem is, my previous monitor was a NEC Spectraview, so I have a i1 display pro badged as a NEC MDSVSENSOR3, which is not recognised by PMU. Do I really have to go out and spend $150+ to buy the identical item or is there some way to get PMU to recognise the one I have?
I'm not sure, you can try to remove Spectraview and see if PMU would see it. If not then, yes, you would have to get a new device. A lot of these OEM "same" devices are build with a coding cap that is building the hardware IC of the device, which is why you are seeing the side effect of this. This is one of the main reason not to buy co-branded devices.
Hi, just purchased a PD series Monitor PD2705Q and the Specs page of Master Ultimate states that it could be used. But the difference is that SW series get "hardware Calibration) and PD series get "software Calibration.. what's the difference?
I heard that X-rite i1 Display Pro plus seems to have been discontinued, should I be concerned if this will have any impact in the future when using it with Palette Master Ultimate ? Will BenQ later stop supporting older Calibration Devices ?

Technically if you are using Palette Master Ultimate, the profile should automatically change. With PMU it won't. But you have to calibrate everything again with PMU for this to work.
