This is a quite common problem I have seen a number of times over the years. When a pickups holes become enlarged and the pickup no longer holds position (it slides up and down over the holding bolt/screw). I used to build up solder around the bolt/screw making a new thread but this has only ever been a temporary fix. The best thing to do is to actually solder a correct size nut to the underside of the lug making a brand new thread for the bolt/screw... Видеоклипы
Woah, thanks for sharing knowledge and your experience!
I had this problem with my Dimebucker which has a plastic housing so I used superglue as filler and just drilled new holes.
This needed threads that will last (permamnent) as I was selling it...
This seems like it would work great for my mustang bass, question is, do you need the springs with this fix?
They will wobble a bit without springs...
Thanks for the reply! I’ll give it a shot
What would you recommend on stratocaster plastic pickups? I've bought a second hand set and my old screws are lose and I can't adjust the hight. Thanks!
I have no idea: Google it :)
Hi. Did you find a solution. I have the exact same problem right now
Great tip !! Now, please make a video where you keep saying "So-dur". HA! Love the accent !!!
Ah yes, the famous 'silent L' the 'Mericans use! My accent is Nottingham, England (we are not all about 'tea at 4 in the garden and crust free cucumber sandwiches') as some will have you believe. Regards, Victor...
I'm in Louisville Kentucky, so, I'm sure YOU'D love my accent, too. Love your channel ! GOD SAVE THE QUEEN and all that.
I tried this today, but the solder just would not take to the nut and lug
Solder does not work on all metals! I had exactly the same problem. You need to source the correct metal that solder works with. Victor...
