    Yo, I had this EXACT problem; SUPER glad you made this video documenting your repair. Really gave me the confidence to do it myself and save the extra cash and get it all done in one night. Cheers!

    Great to see how the spring and screw work (I was looking for that on RUclips, not many explain this) ... but sad that the string-to-pickup adjustment was not discussed. Apparently that's done by holding down a string, and adjusting height of the pickup with the spring screws, so the pickup is closer to the string. I am learning how to do all this and the video DID help (need to fix loose pickups on a cheap second hand guitar). Thanks.

      hi, if a pickup is loose you will have to screw the pickup ring (screws on the corners) and take it out of the guitar so you can get the screw back in the hole on the pickup.
      pickup height is really to taste, you don't need to hold a string or anything. adjustable polepieces can help even out of some strings are louder than others. thanks for watching :)

    Why didn’t you take the old solder off, and then solder the nut onto the underside of the leg. Then you would be able to adjust the height of the pickup once you put it back in the guitar?

      this way seemed far less fiddly and it seems to work :)

    What if my pick up is like, completely floppy? Like both the middle screws are off and I just leave it there? Does it make a difference on sound? What are the cons?

    • @BadMotivator66
      @BadMotivator66  Год назад

      You won’t be able to adjust the height, it could well be too low and sound very weak
