Wild to think that a 3 star is almost as rare as an Ex .333 vs .357 also instering that standard full arts are .321 meanwile full art Ex & Trainers are a .05 chance which is rarer than an immersive at .222 😮 At those numbers crafting 3 stars is more valuable than any other card
Hi Regis, do you plan on doing a video trying to do a Nidoking/Nidoqueen deck? It looked like an interesting archtype, not a top deck for sure though. Ive wanted to try it but I'm trying to stay F2P so I can't quite amass enough copies of the cards to run the deck well.
I'm curious on whether the percentages they offer are based per card pulled or per pack pulled. Is a 1% chance 1 out of 100 cards (20 packs) or 1 out of 100 packs?
So yeah, not nearly played this as much as you but opening packs is pretty lame. I barely have scratched the surface of collecting the cards and I still get packs with only 1 new card. Also what’s up the energy system? Seems kinda limiting.
it’ll just be a card collection game for me. i’ve had decent luck so far and can compete online, but i feel like it will just keep getting worse vs the p2w / meta deck players
Genuine question, is there a difference between pulling from single packs or 10? Dunno if I should be saving up my tickets or if it’s okay to be spending them as I get them.
Opend 3 bent packs 1st one had a normal rare holo. 3rd one had the immersive mewtwo and the bend on that pack was huge. Also you goin for alts in this game it seems so why do you not use alt arts in Snap?
i think the trading will help a lot with that. if you pull a duplicate of a half decent card that you dont want, there will always be someone out there that wants it.
Have a feeling that will eventually happen here too. You just can't help it. Any games with pvp tend to. Leaks/datamine show ranked is coming sooner than later
There's already websites for competitive decks and ppl optimizing. Sure they have no ranked mode yet but it will surely be a thing. Ppl wanna win and compete, just natural evolution in online games.
You could use hoarded pack timers for a new set/mini-set when it first comes out. I haven’t been saving mine because if I’m not having fun with the game now i feel it’s unlikely I’ll care about hoarding long term.

With the % the way they are, spening money for more packs basically increase your % on rolling dupes. Honestly you have significantly more decision with a 1/5 on a wonderpick that contains 4 star or higher.
@@elladan23 it's 1/5 in the wonderpick and at least you can see what cards you are rolling for. Heck, if there are 2 or more cards you need your chances literally go up. So after watching this video I checked my dex and realized that alot of the basic pokemon or stage 1 evolves I was missing, so I figured with a 60/30 ratio on said cards, I went ahead and bought enough gold to purchase ten of each of the packs. I ended up feeling regret as most of my pulls out of 30 cards were dupes and even doubles of the same cards in the same packs. Frustrated, I used my currency opening packs and was forced to purchase wartortle, charmeleon, and ran out before I could pick up raichu or ghastly. Now I feel very frustrated as I haven't even attempted real players, I've been trying to beat the AI battles and literally have conceded to the Articuno EX deck in the last phase of the AI battles. Honestly, I have lots of stage 1 and some Ex's, but without the base cards literally no shot. Very very frustrated.
Yeah, but you have to grind them and the 3 stars aren't cheap. Trainer cards are outrageous, but yes you are correct. That's how I finally got a wartortle and a ghastly.
Man this loot box system is so antiquated now. Having to open dozens and dozens of packs to hope you get 1 card is such a scummy system and this game gets away with it simply because it's Pokemon and "that's the way it's always been". As much as Marvel Snap drip feeds cards, at least you know 100% what you're gonna get. Even in the case of Spotlight keys, you guarantee a card if you have 4 keys. There's also much, much less junk, like yeah you get 5 cards per pack but most packs are just pure junk. Only reason I'm not spending any money on Pokemon Pocket is because I know I'll spend like $10-$20 and still miss the 2nd EX Mewtwo and 2nd EX Charizard I need to complete my deck.
Bent packs have better odds not assured wtf is wrong with everyone thinking its everytime but fr i pull more off 5 bent packs than you do in like 25 packs for you so yeah enjoy being wrong
Is this just going to end up being a collection game or a game where you actually battle lol it feels like the focus so far is getting people to spend money to get these rare-ass cards and that's it.... And I feel like the game scales the odds. I know it shows odds, but it seems like you will get a duplicate(s) before getting your first card. Same thing with the coin flips, it benefits the CPU, it clearly is dependent on you as the player if you'll knock the opponent out (it won't give you the coin flip to do so). I played the original Gameboy TCG game on Switch and you can rewind the game play, the coin flips and everything all pre-determined. It feels like it's the same for this too.
I don’t know if you’ve ever played the original Pokémon TCG online but it feels like they’ve taken that game split it into 2/2 and made Pokémon TCG live and now this with Pokémon TCG live being for the more serious players and this is supposed to be more casual When they advertise the game Pokémon TCG pocket. The trading was a selling point and with it not being in the game at launch I think it holds the game back a bit and I think this game needs a mode where you can use prebuilt decks and play against other people with prebuilt decks like they had in the original Pokémon TCG online.
-22:42-- Regis What about natural reverse packs (unless that's a bent pack)?- 23:12 Oooh oof At 22:21 for example the pack to the right was a nat reverse. Personally it seems like I *Always* get better stuff from nat reverse packs. I honestly wonder if they are the glowing pack you sometimes get when you open 10 packs at a time. 31:24 Ditto is crap it needs a rework. In my opinion if you have the amount of energy needed for an attack you should be able use you can. Additional bonuses like a 5 psychic energy Ditto would not do 160 damage if it copied Blastoise Ex meanwhile it'd get the damage bonus if you had 5 water energy. On yhe other side of things if Ditto used Flamethrower/Psystrike and didn't have fire/psychic energy you wouldn't discard any energy. In this scenario it sounds very strong, but it still would be a glass cannon since it only has 70 hp. If nothing else this video definitely dissuades me from purchasing gold myself. Thank you for this Regis 😁✨
What do you mean it's not a "P2W cash grab"? Regis's results show that it's even more P2W than he thought. If he spent $100 and got very few playable cards as a result, then what hope do free players have of keeping up? When the ranked mode is released, the whales will very quickly solve and dominate the meta. The amount of packs that Regis opened in this video is equivalent to SEVEN WEEKS of F2P packs, and he didn't get all of the pieces for any single S-tier or A-tier deck. Some people will get very lucky and pull almost every card that they want in those seven weeks. But most people won't get most of the cards that they want, and they certainly won't be getting cards fast enough to stay competitive (in the ranked mode) with the whales. Mark my words, the ranked mode that everyone seems to want ASAP will turn out to be an increasingly miserable experience for free players. But if you're only interested in Pocket as a digital app to collect cards to look at rather than play with, then you probably won't get frustrated.
@@ydgmdlu Yup, and there's already a mini set and the next full set coming out in the next few months. No way f2p will be able to keep up. The game play is so bare bones and coin flippy that this game will never be very competitive anyway.
It's 100% pay2win what are you talking about. Regis spending $100 bucks and not guaranteed to get a meta deck shows that. I also feel like the frequency of new cards being added will make it basically impossible to catch up as a F2P.
I think alot of players simply want to build a decent deck. Remember another thing as well those players who went to NZ kept their accounts. Try heading into PVP batttles with your Rapidash deck and see how far it gets you when 18 trainer decks are flying everywhere.
I’d say your 100 didn’t go well. I had 21 1star 3 2star and 2 3star from my $100. But I did my opening differently. Did ten of each pack then did ten of each pack as single packs then back to ten each then single packs till finished
@RegisKillbin so far it seems like it's not too hard for even f2p players to complete the full base set (all 226 cards w/ at least 1 dupe of each monus a few of the EXs) during each sets run. From what I've read they'll release 1 new set each quarter with maybe a smaller mini-set every 6 weeks so that's 180 packs just from the standard 2 free each day nvm events and other ways to get additional hourglasses and other resources that will help players get more cards/packs. So as long as you're not a completionist the game doesn't seem THAT p2w. This is especially true if you include the wonder picks as some can give you a 20% shot at an EX you're missing (or even 40% as I've seen a few that contained 2 EXs). I got both my 2nd copy of Mewtwo and Pikachu EXs that way.
@@rayman17420your argument is full of flaws. The F2P results that you're seeing from those who have played since the soft launch are heavily skewed by account rerolling and the fact that the new player experience gives around 50 packs in the first week. Also, the rate of new card acquisition rapidly decreases the closer to collection complete you are. The final 20 cards will take weeks to acquire since the odds of pulling a specific card are so low. For example, even the common one-diamond card is one in 17 packs. You could open 30 or more packs and still fail to pull one of the most common cards in the set. Yes, Wonder Picks help fill in holes, but there are no guarantees with that system. You could wait days for a single chance at one EX card, fail to pick it, and then have to wait a few more days at another chance. You could fail the pick ten times in a row. So you could end up never Wonder Picking that card before the release of the next set.
@@rayman17420 2 packs per day, plus .42 of a pack from dailies plus 5.8 per month from the shop, any events they add. Lets be very generous and round it up to 3 packs per day. If they release a set every quarter that's 270 packs over 90 days before the next set comes out. However there are 3 different packs per set so you only get 90 per type of pack Lets say you want 2 copies of a single 3 diamond card (i.e. not EX). The chances of getting it in a pack are 0.357% for the 4th slot and 1.429% from the 5th slot. So the chance of getting a copy of the card you want in a pack is 1-((1-0.00357)*(1-0.01429)), so 1.78%. We can use a binomial calculator to calculate the probability of getting at least 2 copies of the card you want by subtracting the probability of getting 0 in both slots, or 1 in a slot and 0 in the other slot over 90 openings which comes to 48%. For each 3 diamond card you want 2 copies of you are multiplying that by 0.48, so basically halving it each time. There are 42 3 diamond cards in total so the chance of getting all of them is vanishingly small. However, you also get the currency for opening the packs to redeem cards, 5 per pack so 1350 across your 270 packs, and redeeming a 3 diamond costs 150 so you can get 9 of them in total. Going back to the binomial calculator the probability of getting 0 of a given card is 0.198, and the probability of getting exactly 1 of the card is 0.323. So across the 42 cards you'll be missing 2 copies for 8.316 cards and 1 copy for 13.566, resulting in you needing to redeem 30 cards when you only have enough for 9. But we can also Wonder Pick them. A pack with a 3 diamond card costs 2 wonder pick tokens so you get 45 chance over the 90 days. Unfortunately you can't save up all your tokens until the end to target the cards you didn't end up pulling, so lets say at the beginning you are picking a card to go for blind, so a 52% chance of picking one that you won't ultimately get 2 of from packs, and that linearly increases as you open packs and start excluding cards you have more of until the final day where you have a 100% chance of picking a card you won't pull 2 of. Overall that gives you a 76% chance of picking from a pack for a card you need, and 20% chance of actually picking the right card. This will get you 6.84 of cards you don't have. This means you can get about 7 of the 21 cards you need from wonderpicks. You could argue that you only open packs that have 2 3 diamonds you need in them, but i feel the chance of you seeing packs like that are pretty slim given how many packs it offers you. If you think you could reliably do that then double the number of cards you expect to receive from wonder picks. I think the big factor is how trading will work. If we assume you can freely trade cards of the same rarity then we can just assume that there's someone out there willing to trade their dupes for your dupes so all that matters is the number of cards of each rarity you get. You need 82 3 diamond cards and can expect to open 67.5 of them. That means you need to get 14.5 from the pack points and wonder picking which seems doable. Another interesting thing is that because there are a lot less EX cards in total and there's multiple versions of them, the chance of a given EX is higher than a 3 diamond. You can expect to get on average 31.3 EX cards across all the different rarities, and you only need 30 of them to have 2 copies of each. So yeah i think overall you are likely to be able to get nearly all the cards if they add trading. Although that's just the mean and it's assuming the very generous 3 packs per day.
A better question is, what does $100 get you in Hot Pockets? The people gotta know Regis

Wild to think that a 3 star is almost as rare as an Ex .333 vs .357 also instering that standard full arts are .321 meanwile full art Ex & Trainers are a .05 chance which is rarer than an immersive at .222 😮
At those numbers crafting 3 stars is more valuable than any other card
this
Hi Regis, do you plan on doing a video trying to do a Nidoking/Nidoqueen deck? It looked like an interesting archtype, not a top deck for sure though. Ive wanted to try it but I'm trying to stay F2P so I can't quite amass enough copies of the cards to run the deck well.
The only Ex I have two of is Arcanine and to be honest I think he's a little slept on he's at least 50% win rate!
I'm curious on whether the percentages they offer are based per card pulled or per pack pulled. Is a 1% chance 1 out of 100 cards (20 packs) or 1 out of 100 packs?
Bros hair is majestic
So yeah, not nearly played this as much as you but opening packs is pretty lame. I barely have scratched the surface of collecting the cards and I still get packs with only 1 new card. Also what’s up the energy system? Seems kinda limiting.
it’ll just be a card collection game for me. i’ve had decent luck so far and can compete online, but i feel like it will just keep getting worse vs the p2w / meta deck players
Rocking that Johnny Bravo haircut 😂
I must just be lucky, but every pack of 10 i have opened bagged me 2 of the 3 gold star packs. I started to think it was guarrenteed 😅
$100 poorer. Digital items aren’t real and aren’t worth anything
So you're saying that cryptocurrency isn't real and isn't worth anything? Interesting argument.
Speak from the Heart REGIS!!!!
You mentioned shiny cards....I think promo/event cards should be shiny versions
Lucky. I spent $100+. Will spend another $100 next month.
I’m free to play and on my 43rd pack I got the Gold Crown 👑 Pikachu 😭🙏🏽✨
Genuine question, is there a difference between pulling from single packs or 10? Dunno if I should be saving up my tickets or if it’s okay to be spending them as I get them.
There's no difference between single and 10 packs, you'll have the same odds and pack points either way!
there is no difference, btw do you know how to play it on pc?
only diff is you save some time ripping the packs
100 can get you many real Pokémon cards
sorry regis but ive been opening right corner bent packs and i've gotten 2 ex mewtwos in single pulls so far, so im keeping the supersition alive.
Yeah those numbers are outrageous. I think price point and rates aren't worth it. Great video.
I don't believe in the bent packs either, but I did pull a crown mewtwo from one 😵
Opend 3 bent packs 1st one had a normal rare holo. 3rd one had the immersive mewtwo and the bend on that pack was huge.
Also you goin for alts in this game it seems so why do you not use alt arts in Snap?
That first bundle of 10 was nuts.
How do you play on computer?
It seems like this game needs a duplicate protection system really bad
i think the trading will help a lot with that. if you pull a duplicate of a half decent card that you dont want, there will always be someone out there that wants it.
Every time I pulled from a bent pack I have gotten an EX or 3 diamond.
Pokémon pocket is breath of fresh air. Marvel snap turned from fun to competitive.
Dumb question, is there a reason to hoard pack timers? I have that gamer feeling that I need to hold onto them all in case I need them later
You could use hoarded pack timers for a new set/mini-set when it first comes out.
I haven’t been saving mine because if I’m not having fun with the game now i feel it’s unlikely I’ll care about hoarding long term.
iv run out of hour glasses to purchase with tickets have to wait 28 days to refresh a total of 70 max the next month. wall hit.
@@Cyber_Scorpion i rerolled 6 account to get Pika i got one in the 6th but no zppy or even electric poké to build a minimum XDXD and in the 5th i got 2 zappy and thats it ..and that is farming the account just a bit so i can get over 20 packs XDXDXD fck it
I’ve been opening 1 pack every 6 hours and spending half the hour glass tickets. Micro dosing pack opening as a little pick me up. 😅
Versus Snap where you get 1 variant and 1 Series 5 card.
Snap laughs at your paltry $100 and demands a blood sacrifice for a new card.
The shiny versions will probably come on a different individual set just like in tcg
With the % the way they are, spening money for more packs basically increase your % on rolling dupes. Honestly you have significantly more decision with a 1/5 on a wonderpick that contains 4 star or higher.
Is it 1/5? I'm not sure about that.
@@elladan23 For the Wonderpick its at least 1/5 and increases if there is mroe than 1 card you want from it.
I pulled a immersive Mewtwo Ex and a golden Charizard Ex recently. Feels pretty amazing!
Yeah it does only to realize you have stage 1 cards like charmeleon who are missing from your collection.
Buy rest of the cards with pack points
Yeah, but you have to grind them and the 3 stars aren't cheap. Trainer cards are outrageous, but yes you are correct. That's how I finally got a wartortle and a ghastly.
What about the 585 pack points you got though? That's like 1 EX pokemon or 4 rare 3 diamond pokemon of your choosing.
For F2P 500 packs points is a slow slow grind when you can only earn 5 per day.
Regis you’re a monster, how dare u use 2 hour glasses and more gold than what was stated in the title I’m unsuscribing
I like the game but their $10 sub is steep for what you get
This game makes me wonder where I can get the best deal on Apple Store gift cards 😝
I see the computer cursor in your video. What are you playing on?
I use scrcpy to mirror an android tablet.
Cursed packs. Oh my god.
I think you pulled below published rates on the high end. Not by a ton but enough to be sad
Do you have mew yet?
yes if u finish kanto collect ..maybe im wrong
short answer not enough
Idk a opened a bent pack and pulled Blastoise ex😂
0$ - 3 crown rare
Nothing but regret
Omg your hair
Lv 33!!! WTH 🤣🤣🤣
I think the cap is 50 right now I’m level 28 and f2p
-22:42-- Regis What about natural reverse packs (unless that's a bent pack)?- 23:12 Oooh oof
At 22:21 for example the pack to the right was a nat reverse.
Thank you for this Regis 😁✨
loving that the game isnt a P2W cash grab. seems that it will be fun for F2P and trading will definitely improve things for everyone if done right.
We don't know how trading works yet. It could cost gold for all we know.
Dw its a pokemon game.
Can definitely go the p2w route
What a scam
the people spending money in this are fools. We're less than a week into the full release.
Did ten of each pack then did ten of each pack as single packs then back to ten each then single packs till finished
you dont seem to like pokemon lol
Pokemon actually seem very cool. Expensive packs with insane diminishing returns do not.
However there are 3 different packs per set so you only get 90 per type of pack
Lets say you want 2 copies of a single 3 diamond card (i.e.
I saw ur hair cut and immediately said im not watching this lmaoo
