I’m a hairdresser and I don’t recommend letting your bleach oxidize, because bleach is only good for a certain time. It stops lifting usually at the 45-50 min mark. So letting it oxidize basically means you have less time to apply while the bleach is at it’s most active. Hope this helps!
just a couple tips to anyone who may bleach their hair at home: -quick blue is fine. I’ve used it many times. it’s meant for darker hair that’s why it’s blue for toning -your hair will lift depending on the health and history. also depends on your developer -in the video we only see her do her front piece. if you were going to attempt the entire head, start at the back/bottom. thicker hair is typically darker/coarser and harder to bleach. front hair is usually thin = will bleach easier = more chance of breakage if left longer resulting in uneven hair -if you’re going to incubate, work fast at applying bleach. don’t let it sit. spray water before applying cap. once bleach is dry, it’s no longer working -hair always looks more white with bleach on it, for a true glimpse you MUST wash a section -would recommend not to bleach/wash multiple times (ouch your scalp) and instead bleach for longer periods IF bleach is still moist. there are cream/liquid developers too -most people are too dark for the toners they use and for purple shampoo. if you’re not close to white, you’re probably too yellow and need something more blue based until you’re ready to rebleach hope that helps someone out a bit :)
It’s a little disappointing to me that this bleach formula dries so easily because when bleach is dry, it is no longer actively lightening your hair, so it only figures that you were stuck with yellow roots!
For reallllll 😩😩😩 I think it might work better in a wetter ratio but won’t lift as much unless the developer is stronger there’s no way to win with quick blue 💀
I think that happened because she let it oxidize before using it, which just makes the bleach lose it’s power and dry faster, I don’t understand why she did that 🤔
its so hard to believe you have 3 kids because u look like you have none....u have not aged one bit at all 😫😫😫 and gosh, kids grow too fast. i remember watching you and galahad was still tiny. your family is so cute 🥺🥺🥺❣️❣️❣️
Hair dresser here! Don’t let your bleach oxidize in the beginning, you mixing it for 5 minutes is enough. Bleach usually has a lifetime of about an hour so the longer you wait the more your time is running out. Also I would mix the bleach with more developer, won’t make it so thick and a creamier consistency. Usually for onscalp bleach I do one scoop of bleach to 1.5 or 2 Developer. It’s actually better to mix less then remix so everything is fresh. The olaplex will be more useful in the bleach then toner, but you can use in both.Leave it on for as long as possible. For an hour after application you, you will be safe with that time with twice developer and olaplex. As you mentioned bleach gets puffy when oxidized, it does the same on your hair so to avoid overlap/damaged keep it a millimetre away. You should try the Schwarzkopf blonde me bleach, 9 levels of lift!
Yes! Aislinn did a video on bleaching at home. That’s exactly what she uses and she is recommended it and I went out and bought it instantly. I have never used a bleach as good as Blondme. With Olaplex as an assistant to the bond helper in Blondme it feels better than before the bleach. That surprised the heck out of me, I’ve never experienced that before. I used Goldwell before but it didn’t do anything remotely as good.
Hey please help me understand @0:35 if the bleach said up to 7 levels, does that means I won’t get to a level 8 ? My goal is to achieve light blond coming from a level 1 natural black
i absolutely love the quality and editing of your videos, i appreciate all the work you put in because it makes your videos so enjoyable to watch. love you guys and your content!
Awww thank you so much chumby!! We are trying a new video style with some new equipment 🥰🥰 thank you so much for taking your time to watch our videos and for enjoying them 😭💘💘
Me too. (I’m platinum and have a long pixie not seen in my picture) it’s absolutely fantastic and it’s so easy to work with. I do put Olaplex in it though there’s a bond helper in it and it doesn’t fry the hair or scalp one bit.
I have watched some hairdresser videos and he said he's not recommending quick blue and even called it quick death ☠️ he said that better option is Blonde Me by Schwarzkopf. Just saying 😊☺️
HAHHAHA QUICK DEATH HAHAHAHAH OMGGG THATS SO FUNNY I love blonde me 😭 I wanna try comparing blondeme with wella blondor and guy tang big 9! They’re all super good white in one go 😳
I’m a hairdresser of 16 years & I swear by Blondme, it’s like the Holy Grail In my personal opinion 👌🏻 take super fine sections & I think you’ll be okay ...
I used to use the quick blue and it always only brought it to a 7 as it stated. But I switched to the schwarzkopf blonde me because you seemed to use it often and it looked like it worked great. And it is definitely better I noticed. 😌
Letting the bleach just sit before you start applying it, it will start to lose its power. It’s also best to mix more than a 1-2-1 ratio for scalp application to reduce irritation and to also prevent the product from drying out so fast. It’s best to mix and apply immediately
Hey lovely 💕 little hairdresser tip! Bleach only goes puffy because you haven’t mixed it right, it should be equal 1:2 ratio on the dot and anything else will affect the lightening process It’ll also help with the yellow roots by lifting it a bit more when it’s mixed right xx If you leave it to oxidise it won’t lighten your hair as much, you have to start bleaching your hair as soon as the bleach is mixed and if you see it go puffy then throw it out and make some more
This is the only bleach I use lol it works great for me it helps if you ise 2 scoops bleach and 3 scoops developer and spray the bag or cap with water!
You should try Schwarzkopf BlondMe bond enforcing. It lift 9 levels and it helps with bonds. I use to believe bleach was just bleach but it’s not. Thus lifts fast on my dark hair and it doesn’t feel nearly as damadging as other bleached I’ve tried l. Please please give it a try and review.
Bleach lifts the most within the first 5-10 mins after being mixed. So I wouldn’t wait at all before applying. Also, start from the back of the head. The front it far more thin and fragile than the back usually. 💖💖
Love ur finished result. My hair is very difficult to lift, ive used loads of bleaches. Best one and most reasonable for my needs is blonde me with blonde me peroxide. I used the silver or ash(cant rember but not many to choose from anyway) additive with it, well last time to see the difference, and there was, but u need to be careful with the additve not to over lap, as it will ashen the other bleached hair. I use 30 vol as my mum puts it on 4 me so its quicker. When i rinsed blonde me bleach out it felt like silk. You have to try it to belive it. It contains alternate product to oplex, in comparison its cheaper than using olplex and felt better. The blonde me perodide contains it to thats why i stick to both for bleach and peroxide. X
usually recommended bleach to developer ratio is 1:1.5 because 1:1 ratio is too dry to work with and it stops working too early, you can probably check it from the quick blue packaging if it says that! Also topchic 11 series is lifting haircolour that are meant to lift your natural hair by 2-3 levels. I think great formula for platinum hair is goldwell topchic 10BS+10BP+10V!
I believe you're right, you got an older batch. You made it look fabulous. I like using this bleach...but once got a complete dud batch. Love that blue, it's oceany
OMG I LOOOOOVE GALAHAD PRETENDING TO BE A NEW SCHOOL STUDENT, AND ZIEK "MALFUNCTIONING"!!! 😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😍😍😍😍 PS. Pubbles! 😍😂 This should be a real word! PPS. Your hair looks PHENOMENAL!!!! I love it!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
This was one of the first bleach brands I used it is strong drying (I use more developer to help with the dry texture) Not everyone does The oxidation proces, the heat in the room expands the bleach (but if you are not careful it will dry out ) makes the bleach less harsh. Also tip when the bleach is crunchy crusty it's not working anymore so you need to moisturize it take a spray bottle of water mist your hair or mist water into a showrr cap and the the cap on OR JUST DON'T USE THIS BLEACH it's not very good as you now know.
I'm a hairstylist that has been bleaching my own hair for many years and has dark hair such as your self, my advice is always go for 9 levels of lift for bleach. Also, did you add Olaplex to the bleach? I didn't see it, I only saw you adding it to your toner. You should definitely add it to your bleach too. Always start in the back, it's the coolest part of your head and processes much slower than the front. I've never waited for my bleach to oxidize. I'm not sure why you would do that. Color and or bleach loses its efficacy once it starts oxidizing. Also those were still some pretty long roots! Don't wait so long! When you wait too long, you'll more often get yellow roots. Interesting you used a Goldwell highlift permanent color to tone, but I get it, it will lift AND tone, especially since you needed an extra push to get that yellow out. I watched some of your other bleach videos and I have to say you are getting better at this!
You are ridiculously pretty!! 😍, I'm just about to do my roots today I'm using schwartzkopf L9 it lifts 9 levels you might find that box dye useful in the future I've used it with a streaking cap in the past and been well pleased with the results, I'm darkest brown colour naturally, The video was great and really helpful, your children are super cure too!! 😘💗🙏🤗😍🕊
I’ve never had a problem with quick blue tbh. WITH THAT SAID. I think it’s better for medium toned hair and removing other hair dye. I have noticed w my dark haired friends it doesn’t work. I also eyeball the developer cuz it is dry to prevent flaking and to create an easier consistency to work with.
There are other bleaches made specifically for on the scalp decolorization .try one of those next time...not so irritating on skin.👍your application was very good, you used a proper amount of product.
Hey please help me understand @0:35 so if the bleach said up to 7 levels, does that means I won’t get to level 8 ? My goal is to achieve light blond coming from a level 1 natural black
quick blue is fine just work quicker and use more developer or you can use a higher level developer to get the lift you want. also don't oxidize your bleach because mixed bleach has a shelf life and it won't lift for as long on your hair since it'll lose it's moisture. all in all it was way too dry once you were done applying it to your hair and didn't have the power to bleach since it only works while wet.
Oh really ??? You must mix it to a nice wet mix! How high is your developer?? I was using a 20 so I tried with a thicker ratio but it dried so fast 👁👄👁
@@NameePark I always do a 1:2 ratio with this bleach bc it dries too fast for me. I love this bleach bc I usually do a lot of asian/black hair so it’s always my go to. I also keep a spray bottle of water, spray one or two times, it the bleach from drying inside my plastic cap or bag.
U should use 20 and 40 dev. 1:1 mixed 1:1,5 with bleach powder Use Better more product than less and if it dries out while process just holding it hydrated by spraying water on that keeps the process working and one important thing is if you use Ola Plex or everything like that you are losing always a little bit strength of developer
Don't use blond box dye for reaching. Go for blond me bleach, use a moist mixture, cover your hair with coconut oíl one night before and bleach over it, do not overlap and always check the state of your hair every 10min
I'm surprised it took me 2 years to try this bleach because it's the one that I heard of the most!!

Exactly what I've been told, use it right away!!
just a couple tips to anyone who may bleach their hair at home:

Maybe the 1/1 ratio and 20 volume didn’t help either.
You can always get warm water in a spray bottle and sprits a bit into the cap, keeps it from drying up and the warm water helps the process speed up.

What bleach do you usually use?
galahad and zeik has gotten so big omg
They have !!!! 🥺🥺🥺
Have you tried the Blonde Me by Swartzkoff? 9 levels of lift and they have oil based developers. Love your hair and nails!
Love the fam!
Been a hair stylist 12 year. Never heard of bleach sitting before u use it 🤣
Just a side note. Galahad is such a cool name.
U should use 20 and 40 dev. 1:1 mixed 1:1,5 with bleach powder
Use Better more product than less and if it dries out while process just holding it hydrated by spraying water on that keeps the process working and one important thing is if you use Ola Plex or everything like that you are losing always a little bit strength of developer
How you krrp your hair from breaking please
I neeeeeeed you bathrobe!! Love the kitties, pleaaase, where is it from?
The more the bleach oxidises the weaker it becomes, so you wanna get it on the hair quickkk, and make a fresh batch for the other half of the head xxx
You legitimately look like a superhero (or villain😅) with the blue makeup and platinum blonde/white hair and the white cape.
HAHA YES it’s totally a villain look 🥺🥺🤣
You should go all blue😍
where did u get olaplex 1?
Bleach Mikes hair you won't!! X'D He'll be the reeeeal slim shadyyyy
Please please try Guy Tang products! They all so amazing and also made especially to lift dark hair to blonde in one sitting.
Lovin it!
Thank you eden 🥰🥰
Good mother
What were you wearing at the end of this video. The black and white cats it’s so cute.
It’s a yukata!!! I got it from rakuten 🥰🥰
whats the most powerful loreal blonde box dye? my hair is naturally black and I had to bleach my hair 3 times to get a medium blonde. i want platinum.
Don't use blond box dye for reaching. Go for blond me bleach, use a moist mixture, cover your hair with coconut oíl one night before and bleach over it, do not overlap and always check the state of your hair every 10min
I like this video
❤ edit: clicked toner link and its "currently unavailable "
