We've got a 21 reg one in all over orange in service for Sefton Council in Merseyside. I saw it collecting garden waste this morning in Southport. First time I noticed that the body/drum rotates, same principle as a concrete mixer. Certainly a lot quieter than the other conventional trucks, although there's a bit of noise on the recycling days from the bottles and cans. Certainly a lot less weight for the truck to carry without the heavy hydraulic compaction equipment at the rear.
Aw nice! We've got 4 of these motors in renfrewshire but am not sure how much longer they're staying with us. They are certainly good for garden waste collections, a do find it quite interesting how the body works!
Real shredding, no.. but fragmentizing, yes.... insite the rotating drum is a spiral, and a screw at the behind door, the own weight of the load Will be compressed in 6:1 ( faun rotopress )
