Hey Sara, this is such a beautiful shawl! I’d actually classify it as a beginner intermediate category. Not a full intermediate!
It mostly double crochet n chains.
Must beginners are used to those!!
Easy up see where wA stitch should go. Shells go on top of the shell, V stitches on top of V stitches. Plus it’s a 1 row repeat!!
    Changing color is so easy!!!
Ppl!! Don’t be afraid to do this
Do a recommended swatch size to get used to stitches if you are a beginner. Then when used to stitches start your project!!! It will go much faster for you this way!!!
Never be afraid to try new stitches!!! Pretty soon you’ll be an intermediate crocheter, then advanced!!
Just take it easy n relax while you crochet!!!
She’s an excellent teacher!! Watch this crow several times while redoing your swatches!!!
One thing bi do, is I only Cary the stray yarn along while doing stitches for a little bit (I leave a longer tail) so I can tie a knot in the back! It’s hidden and ensures the work we internet unravel, n that tail won’t pop out after washes or use!!! I always thread it thru crochet stitches to endure it will not come out!! Just something I learned a king time ago in my 55+ yrs of crocheting. I dint know who made thst stupid rule NO KNOTS IN CROCHET!!
A bunch of bull pucky!!! Lol!!!!!

It’s not a beginner pattern for sure, but it is easy level, but after testing we decided it was closer to intermediate.

      @@SaraSach oh ok…
      You did the tests…
      Just seems easier to me.
I think if ppl did the swatches over n over, n gif used to the stitches before starting project, they’d be ok with it….
Having taught myself almost all I know about crochet for 50+ yrs using pattern books, I didn’t hesitate to try new stitches. Just practiced them!!!
Plus!! I’m STILL learning stitches!! As we all are!! Thanks to teachers like you!!! Tutorials are so much better than a book!!!! Lol

If I would want to make this wider would I just do an odd number of foundation double crochets?
