  • With the price of seeds going up and the uncertainty of what seeds are really in the packet, I decided a few years ago to start harvesting my own seeds. It takes a little extra planning but the process is very simple.

    I have a degree from Purdue University in Argriculture and have lived on the same land for over 65 years. I have a wonderful husband and three sons. I enjoy working in the garden, with the animals and creating things.

    I thought I'd be really smart and start tomatoes indoors with grow lights. I ended up with nothing. Luckily, I had tossed some rotten garden tomatoes in outdoor pots last fall. They sprouted in the spring, so I used then instead.

      @@chrisdonovan8795 I start ours in February/March under grow lights and on heating mats. We have a few volunteers also.
