Roman Khomlyak, a filmmaker with a passion for capturing nature’s beauty, teamed up with his hiking buddy, Misha, for an unforgettable adventure in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge. Their journey on May 2, 2024, along the McCall Point Trail was cut short by a sudden downpour, but not before they witnessed a vibrant tapestry of balsamroot, lupine, and harsh paintbrush. Along the way, they stumbled upon peculiar bentwood trees, adding a touch of mystery to their exploration. As the day drew to a close, they were rewarded with a breathtaking sunset that painted the sky in hues of orange and purple.
To capture the breathtaking scenery, Khomlyak relied on his trusty Sigma FP L camera, equipped with a versatile array of Canon EF lenses. His arsenal included the wide-angle Canon EF 16-35mm F/4L IS USM, the versatile Canon Ef 24-105mm F/4L IS USM, and the vintage Meyer Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 100/2.8. He also experimented with the AUTO-TAKUMAR 35MM F2.3, HELIOS 44-2 58MM F2, Sigma MC-21, and Fotodiox Pro Fusion Smart AF adapter to achieve unique perspectives and effects.
