    Negeri Sembilan (translated as "The Kingdom of the Nine", Negeri = State/Kingdom, Sembilan = Nine) is famous of their tradition, and it was feminist tradition in Malay culture in fact, they used to be practicing "Adat Pepatih", that is female oriented customs compared to other places that practiced "Adat Temenggong", the male oriented customs. (Adat = customs, tradition, Pepatih/Temenggong = the name/status of the person who establish it). They are quite hardcore following the old tradition, but today only few old folks who really practice it. The legend say the tradition started when a female bull saved the kingdom from destruction done by a dragon, all male warriors are defeated but this female bull show up and manage to kill the dragon, since then they respect women, and you can see in the women wear horns in their traditional attire. The state called "the Nine" because originally there was 9 tribes from Sumatra reside there.
    Other than that, the state is famous for it's Rendang, in fact it is the origin of that dish in the peninsular (in which come from Sumatra) and also famous for the traditional Caklempong music. try searching for the music, you guys will love it.

    Shop closes at 7PM because (1) some shops are meant only for breakfasts (2) Some are only for lunch (3) Some cover breakfast, lunch and brunch (4) Some only serves dinner. (5) Breakfast starts early here... some from as early as 5:30AM, the best time to have breakfast for me is 6:30AM, when every meal is ready for order and still fresh while there are also not too many customer yet.
    Some old school chinese restaurants open for lunch, then close for the afternoon (after 2PM) then open again at 5PM till 10PM

    I believe that Johor Bahru is an industrial city, perhaps that is the reason that they close early. Great work to show us bakery founded in 1919, that is the real fun, you explore some hidden gem and then you enjoy the beauty of the gem, in this case taste of the cake.

    3. Mi Rebus Haji Wahid - Plaza Angsana too

    7. Otak-otak - Everywhere, but original place to taste at Kempas
    8. Nasi Beriani Gam - Originally from Batu Pahat, but you may ask local which restaurant sell it.

    You absolutely must try Tip Top seafood for the stingray & the dessert stall beside it for the ABC (Jalan Sungai Chat - pronounced Chart, be there by 7pm for seats. It's the end stall). Secondly, hit up Zainal's Place foe lunch (Jalan Keris, Taman Seri Tebrau) for the Mee Rebus and also mixed rice. Trust me, these are winners.

    Yo! In JB you need to try the Hua Mui Restaurant at the intersection of Jalan Dhobi (Dhobi St) and Jalan Trus (Trus St). Try their kaya toast, mee hua mui (hua mui noodle) and oriental chicken/lamb chop. Their coffee is super nice too! Better than any coffee in Ipoh if you ask me. It's not that far from the Hiap Joo Bakery. The restaurant is pretty legendary, super famous in the 50s-70s. The mee hua mui is superb. I heard the late owner was the Sultan's cook at the Johor palace.

    Another fun video. The murtabak you ate was actually mutton because the guy who took your order said daging ayam, kambing? Kambing is mutton. Daging in general means meat so he meant chicken meat or goat meat? Although a lot of times daging is used to just mean beef hence the confusion.

    England is my team as well and yet we gonna be a champion once more...!!!
    For your info, the only state in Peninsular u guys didn't go yet, Negeri Sembilan, is a bit taboo with their traditional culture called "Adat Pepatih". Negeri Sembilan itself means "Nine State".
    Negeri = State
    Sembilan = Nine (9)
    Its has been named Negeri Sembilan or Nine State because previous time in the state itself had 9 small state (actually district). Their King will be selected from this 9 district turn by turn. In Negeri Sembilan, they still use Adat Pepatih (rules/custom), one of the custom is that the eldest aunty have a privilege to determine her nephew can marry which girl with her permission and many other rules and regulation in their culture.
    Negeri Sembilan is still lots of kampung (village) which is maintain with their original beautiful wooden house and special unique roof looks like buffalo horn. Negeri Sembilan people called as Orang Minangkabau, kabau means "kerbau" or "buffalo". They respect kerbau or buffalo because long long time ago they keep buffalo to do a job in paddy field and a person who had many buffalo is a rich man.
    Im not really sure if my info is exactly correct but thats what i can tell u guys and for Negeri Sembilan people, if my info is wrong... im so sorry yaaaa.
    Anyway, Singapore and Johor Baharu is a place that i was raised up. Thanx for your video and as usual, love both of u...
