Negeri Sembilan (translated as "The Kingdom of the Nine", Negeri = State/Kingdom, Sembilan = Nine) is famous of their tradition, and it was feminist tradition in Malay culture in fact, they used to be practicing "Adat Pepatih", that is female oriented customs compared to other places that practiced "Adat Temenggong", the male oriented customs. (Adat = customs, tradition, Pepatih/Temenggong = the name/status of the person who establish it). They are quite hardcore following the old tradition, but today only few old folks who really practice it. The legend say the tradition started when a female bull saved the kingdom from destruction done by a dragon, all male warriors are defeated but this female bull show up and manage to kill the dragon, since then they respect women, and you can see in the women wear horns in their traditional attire. The state called "the Nine" because originally there was 9 tribes from Sumatra reside there. Other than that, the state is famous for it's Rendang, in fact it is the origin of that dish in the peninsular (in which come from Sumatra) and also famous for the traditional Caklempong music. try searching for the music, you guys will love it. omg that murtabak looks epic. i'm regreting my choice for watching this video around midnight. as for johor, you need to try bone marrow noodles!!. it is a must. slurp that jigly part with a straw. have a safe and fun trip in johor
Shop closes at 7PM because (1) some shops are meant only for breakfasts (2) Some are only for lunch (3) Some cover breakfast, lunch and brunch (4) Some only serves dinner. (5) Breakfast starts early here... some from as early as 5:30AM, the best time to have breakfast for me is 6:30AM, when every meal is ready for order and still fresh while there are also not too many customer yet. Some old school chinese restaurants open for lunch, then close for the afternoon (after 2PM) then open again at 5PM till 10PM

I believe that Johor Bahru is an industrial city, perhaps that is the reason that they close early. Great work to show us bakery founded in 1919, that is the real fun, you explore some hidden gem and then you enjoy the beauty of the gem, in this case taste of the cake.

Watching this makes me so hungry! I'm Singaporean but I literally travel across the border just for their murtabak cheese. I enjoyed watching the entire video, great job!
Welcome to JB! You should also try these if your're still in town: a) Mi Rebus Haji Wahid at Plaza Angsana (thick noodles with potato gravy) b) Kacang Pool Haji near the Larkin Fire Station (a fava bean dish served with thick bread) c) Indian breakfast at Restoran Kerala near Kim Teng Park
Omggg I was so worried about u guys! 4 days no upload or any update ugh. Anyway thanks for the video =) can't wait for the video in Borneo where I born! #cheersforfredoom!
Never worry about us darling. We are just working our other jobs. We will never stop making videos and always a new video every week :). We cannot wait to show you our time in Borneo. We have already arrived and it has the most incredible vibe!
Just a piece of idea. Based on my analysis, your view is greater when you put the word tourists in your vlogs’ title. Hope that’s work as you both are working so hard to entertain your subscribers!! All the best girls!,
I have been waiting for this! At last...your vid for my fix! Hooray for England's win.. :) I was chuffed too! Now....the thing with your vids is that I, a born and bred Malaysian have never tried some of the foods you've eaten. Never even heard of the banana bread or cheese murtabak in Johor :/ However, I may be travelling down South next month so now I know where to go! Nice video per usual! I really am happy people are treating you both well and hope the rest of your experience here is as good or even better. Have a good one you too!

Beer For Breakfast You bet I'll give that grub a go! I'm so pleased you are having fun with us :) Annnndd here we go again...England vs Croatia tonight! Going to be a real nail-biter I reckon! Fingers crossed!!
Try to come to "Bukit Ampang", a hill located not far from downtown KL that offers a spectacular view of KL city. Every night, there will be many stalls selling delicious foods. There is no other UTube personalities or vloggers have made a video about this location, so you guys could be the first one. Im sure it would be phenomenal! Recommended to come in the evening or at night.

I shared this video with a friend whose daughter is the spitting image of Justina with the message. "Do you realize your daughter has run away to Malaysia?" hahaha. her reply back just a few minutes ago was, "OMG... yes!"
Hi there, Marcel! Thanks for your comment! Wow, really???? I normally don't hear any comments about me being similar to anyone else haha, so I am really intrigued right now to see that girl! Hehe, drop us a message on Instagram: beer4breakfast2

Mi Rebus Haji Wahid - Plaza Angsana too 4. Sate Wak Radol at Kempas. I knew both of you love "daging". In my whole life, sate daging Wak Radol is the softest and juiciest 5. Mi Bandung - Originally from Muar. I'm not sure the best place, but you can eat it at Wak Radol restaurant too 7. Otak-otak - Everywhere, but original place to taste at Kempas 8. Nasi Beriani Gam - Originally from Batu Pahat, but you may ask local which restaurant sell it. And the list goes on. Please help them to explore JB, guys :)
If you still in Johor, please come and see the big celebration for Johor for winning MSL cup for 5th time in a row, on 20th July at Dataran Bandaraya. Or you can catch up a football games at Larkin Stadium. Football is a big thing in Johor.
you guys should try come to muar district(royal district), Johor. explore and try for its food.and can come to at my village because my village have a hot spring.
Listing of food u can try in johor:- 1. Mee bandung - zz sup tulang (a bit spicy) 2. Mee rebus - zz sup tulang or haji wahid 3. Kacang pool 4. A.B.C - kampung melayu 5. Wow!! you're in Johor! Johor or Jauhar means "jewel".Go to Tasik Merdeka, there a nice English style cafe in the middle of the park called "littleearthku". The owner,Kak Boon baked a very delicious pies, scones, cakes. You could visit her in instagram.
Welcome to johor bahru guys, plaese dont left johor bahru without try our food such as Laksa Johor, Kacang Pool, Otak-otak Kempas, Mee Bandung and many more, have fun in JB 💐
Girls, Daging actually means meat. Beef is Daging Lembu and you are right about chicken - Ayam. Mutton is called Daging Kambing, where Kambing means goat.
@beersforfreedom - Hey ladies, so cool you're visiting my birth country. What's cooler is that, IIRC, y'all will be in Borneo in a few, right? My wife and I will be visiting Mulu National Park from the 23rd-26th (Ipoh will be our home base). If you're there, it'd be cool to meet up and shoot a vid together! Cheers!
Bummer! Hope y'all had a great time in Sarawak. Are y'all visiting Kuching? Btw, after Mulu, we'll be in Terengganu, specifically Gem/Kapas Island. Hope it's good!
And please you need to try "gerai no 30 ayong rojak". Try the rojak tauhu + charkue and rojak sotong. I give 10/5 mark at that stall. Super super delicious
You absolutely must try Tip Top seafood for the stingray & the dessert stall beside it for the ABC (Jalan Sungai Chat - pronounced Chart, be there by 7pm for seats. It's the end stall). Secondly, hit up Zainal's Place foe lunch (Jalan Keris, Taman Seri Tebrau) for the Mee Rebus and also mixed rice. Trust me, these are winners.
Yo! In JB you need to try the Hua Mui Restaurant at the intersection of Jalan Dhobi (Dhobi St) and Jalan Trus (Trus St). Try their kaya toast, mee hua mui (hua mui noodle) and oriental chicken/lamb chop. Their coffee is super nice too! Better than any coffee in Ipoh if you ask me. It's not that far from the Hiap Joo Bakery. The restaurant is pretty legendary, super famous in the 50s-70s. The mee hua mui is superb. I heard the late owner was the Sultan's cook at the Johor palace.
Another fun video. The murtabak you ate was actually mutton because the guy who took your order said daging ayam, kambing? Kambing is mutton. Daging in general means meat so he meant chicken meat or goat meat? Although a lot of times daging is used to just mean beef hence the confusion.
guys u should stop by Muar Johore small town easy to travel alot nice place to eat u know cheap also Muar is town near Melacca in boarder between Johore and Melacca but still in Johore u can find food like satay, mee rebus, mee bandung, rojak petis and original Muar Coffee 434..made original from muar..i know u guys like coffee
If you change the title to "trying murtabak cheese" I believe your viewer will increase ...people in Malaysia crazy about cheese ...you can try roti canai cheese, nan cheese or burger bakar cheese aligot ( at Abang Burn Burger Bakar , B Point station in JB )
Girllssss if u guys ever thought of coming to Melaka, I reccomend Pak Putra's cheese naan :D their naan's REALLY loaded with cheese and my personal favourite is the pizza naan (at first try I thought there would be tomato sauce and pepperonis but nah, there're chillies and CHEEEESEEE) and also Mango Lassi edit: well, u guys actually did came to Melaka, but won't hurt to reccomend some thing good xD
Hey guys, since you are in Johor which is my hometown , you have to try "mee bandung muar" located at muar Johor and "asam pedas johor" , its iconic foods there.. cheers ;)
oh! you didn't go and try the kacang pol in Larkin.... by the way try the seafood at TOP SPOT, TAMAN KERETA in Kuching also try the laksa sarawak, ayam pangsuh, mee kolok while you are there..... and also terubok masin (salted toli shad/ Chinese Herring) and telur terubok masin (salted terubok roe), they sell them raw in satok market, maybe you can find the cooked ones in restaurants nearby.... Orang Sarawak/Kuching please suggest places to have the best of the food above

Hello I want to visit johor 🇲🇾 greet from Saudi Arabia. اريد زيارة جوهر زرت ماليزيا مرة وحدة لابد من تكرار التجربة ، تحية من السعودية 🇸🇦 greet to All 🇬🇧 تحية للجميع 🇬🇧
England is my team as well and yet we gonna be a champion once more...!!! For your info, the only state in Peninsular u guys didn't go yet, Negeri Sembilan, is a bit taboo with their traditional culture called "Adat Pepatih". Negeri Sembilan itself means "Nine State". Negeri = State Sembilan = Nine (9) Its has been named Negeri Sembilan or Nine State because previous time in the state itself had 9 small state (actually district). Their King will be selected from this 9 district turn by turn. In Negeri Sembilan, they still use Adat Pepatih (rules/custom), one of the custom is that the eldest aunty have a privilege to determine her nephew can marry which girl with her permission and many other rules and regulation in their culture. Negeri Sembilan is still lots of kampung (village) which is maintain with their original beautiful wooden house and special unique roof looks like buffalo horn. Negeri Sembilan people called as Orang Minangkabau, kabau means "kerbau" or "buffalo". They respect kerbau or buffalo because long long time ago they keep buffalo to do a job in paddy field and a person who had many buffalo is a rich man. Im not really sure if my info is exactly correct but thats what i can tell u guys and for Negeri Sembilan people, if my info is wrong... im so sorry yaaaa. Anyway, Singapore and Johor Baharu is a place that i was raised up. Thanx for your video and as usual, love both of u...
As a malaysian I'm using your videos to go travel in malaysia. Thanks guys.

And please you need to try "gerai no 30 ayong rojak". Try the rojak tauhu + charkue and rojak sotong. I give 10/5 mark at that stall. Super super delicious
Thanks for the recommendation
You absolutely must try Tip Top seafood for the stingray & the dessert stall beside it for the ABC (Jalan Sungai Chat - pronounced Chart, be there by 7pm for seats. It's the end stall). Secondly, hit up Zainal's Place foe lunch (Jalan Keris, Taman Seri Tebrau) for the Mee Rebus and also mixed rice. Trust me, these are winners.
Thanks for the recommendations
Thanks for your recommendations!
come to Sarawak! try Laksa Sarawak,Mee Jawa,Kolok Mee and Mee Belacan!
Another fun video. The murtabak you ate was actually mutton because the guy who took your order said daging ayam, kambing? Kambing is mutton. Daging in general means meat so he meant chicken meat or goat meat? Although a lot of times daging is used to just mean beef hence the confusion.

For your info, the only state in Peninsular u guys didn't go yet, Negeri Sembilan, is a bit taboo with their traditional culture called "Adat Pepatih". Negeri Sembilan itself means "Nine State".
Negeri = State
Sembilan = Nine (9)
Its has been named Negeri Sembilan or Nine State because previous time in the state itself had 9 small state (actually district).
Thanks for your info. You certainly know more than us!
