These remind me of the MIDI crap from the eighties that were obsolete before they even got to market. Gimmicky crap is gonna gimmick. Get that money though homie.
These type of ideas never really change the game. Pedals in a guitar, amp in a guitar, dildo in a guitar. In ten years having a touch screen is going to be so insanely obsolete it will be like having a tape deck permanently attached to your guitar in 2022.
Honestly man I'd absolutely love to see you do a Variax review. I play one and they work extremely well for me, but I'd be interested to see what you thought of technology like that. Some say it is just a toy or a gimmic, but John McFee from the Doobie Brothers and Stevek McKay from 12 Foot Ninja are both users and seem to enjoy them a ton
Boss can't release a Waza Slow Gear but this thing has one?! CMON NOW. Really though, as someone who loves my Mustang Micro, I could see picking something like this up if I just wanted an acoustic to have on hand for recording, ideas, etc. The carbon fiber construction is appealing too. Less maintenance over time.
Interesting idea but the whole reason I pick up my acoustic guitar is for the simplicity of it. No effects to tweak, no software, no amps, etc. I get that with my electrics, I want to keep my acoustic pure.
Ok, so it's not for you. What about the acoustic players who don't feel comfortable on an electric, but would like to play around with electronics? It's the perfect concept for them. Otherwise they're stuck with weird hybrids like the T5 or the freak show that is the acoustisonic.
Too bad the smart guitar can't overcome musician's uh, deficiencies 😁🤣 That said... Purpose built for the express purpose? Was that written out beforehand? 🙄 And after all that and it sounds terrible.
You know I looked all over the site and lots of words that say nothing important. I can't find simple specs. Scale length, radius, neck carve, fret size & material. Fluff says it is about size of parlor. Only detail anywhere about feel.
I wonder if they're going to make a new design because I really don't like the styling of the guitar. If they came out with a better design I would 100% consider buying this but the look of the guitar has me hesitant. Function seems to be great. However I'd want something that looks better. I feel like this guitar is just kind of ugly. Sorry to anyone who disagrees. At the same point in time not sorry.
What's gonna happen in 3-4 years when a new one comes out and the old one won't receive updates anymore? This seems like a smartphone guitar, and it probably comes with the same problems. I see this as a nice toy to have, but ultimately rather pointless, just like those spark mini amps that everyone was preordering and then half of these people started selling them on the second hand market because the hype has worn off and ultimately most people won't use even half of the options that this toy offers. Sounds okay though.
Hmm...i don't know. I like all the options you have but the sound doesn't pull my socks off 😅 Or can you mix the effect more into the sound? You should check out the LAG HYVIBE...there's a cool video from Ola Englund. 👍🏻
I'm open to it, and I'm 44 years old with an unhealthy collection of acoustic and electric masterpieces. Why? Not for its looks, but for its sound, for its size (36" version), and that it's completely carbon fiber and HPL, so you don't need to worry about temperature and humidity changes. Ever. Perfect for a songwriter who travels a lot. Perfect for someone learning chords, scales, bettering their transitions, etc. One less thing to need, like apps on your phone or tablet, or an amp and loop pedal just to get your ideas down.
I say yes and no. Cool thing to play around with and use for noodling and maybe to see what you can do with it in a computer interface. I can absolutely see how it would be beneficial for live music and stuff, butI.. I can't get behind it completely. Idk. I just love the look and feel and sound of an acoustic.
As many have said it seems interesting. What I find interesting is their marketing. They seem to be aiming their products towards kids. I went on their website to see what they have to offer & almost all of their images are kids with their guitars. Almost as if they know that older “traditional” people would view it as not an actual acoustic.
I think one or two years ago a salesman came to the guitar store I worked at and showed off a Lava guitar. Apparently they where the biggest internet sensation ever, although none of us at the store had heard of it and even at their company no one had heard of it except for the young new guy, even though it, at the time, was the best selling acoustic at Thomann. Saying it's aimed towards kids makes a lot of sense to me though. It feels like it's for people who doesn't know any better.
I'd be really interested to hear someone put a smaller clip on mic just in front of the sound hole where the speaker is, maybe a small drum mic for toms. And then be able to mix the effected signal really precisely with the acoustic sound.
Nice Lava Me, and have considered the guitar before. My wife is even curious about it, and that's saying something! But I am curious as to the level of privacy intrusion? I would have liked to have seen this issue addressed in the video. I've seen other reviews of similar guitars with all the apps and such and some want WAAAAY TF too much info and access to phones, data, even personal info. I think it's cool what they offer, and the capabilities it offers are great, but I don't need my guitar knowing more about me than my urologist clinic and credit reporting companies.
Fluff is too entertaining to waste space on his channel reviewing and pretending to not hate a guitar that looks like a retro-futurist trash can and sounds the way I'd imagine a guitar would sound like if it were constructed out of thick rubber bands and a damp box of used Kleenex. You're better than that, Fluff.
Could be he’s just a little more open minded and less dismissive than you (which makes him a more worthy reviewer). Obviously it’s no replacement for a nice acoustic (which seems to be the big complaint) but it clearly has some potentially useful applications.
I'm considering buying the Lava Me Freeboost (around 900 bucks) or a REAL acoustic (PRS Angelus A60E) for around the same price... But I don't really know which I should buy :/
@@MrPhins I get your point but: - PRS is an already established brand with a big legacy - On the other hand, Lava Music is relatively new and let's be honest, many brands use this type of marketing because it has been proven effective (Yes, Schecter, ESP, and many other respectable guitar manufacturers have done it). Hell, Fluff has a couple of Schecter videos on his channel. I don't think criticizing Lava for that is fair, although I will be honest that I'm leaning more towards the real acoustic

Somebody is going to figure out a way to hack one of these guitars and play Doom on it.
Yup, it's inevitable 😀
Matt Pike can play doom on it…
to me sounds like this is probs the best thing that could happen to this guitar xD
Absolutely. I hope it happens soon.
Why does it sound like its constantly being muted? Horrible sounding acoustic
Pretty shocked that this isn't ridiculously expensive
hm, not sure about that one. feels very gimmicky. you can do most of this stuff with your phone. i think not everything has to be "smart".

ain't that the truth
I still find the dildo in my guitar to be incredibly useful.
doesnt mean we cant enjoy it now in the moment

Interesting but not for me. I'm already annoyed at how hard it is to buy an acoustic without a built-in pre-amp.
alot of old heads in the comments haha
dont hate it because its new, you still got your old wood guitars that still take up 99.9% of the market
does the flat screen/app tell you where the second hand shop is?
I hate everything about that guitar.
I will stick with my dumb guitar lol

Wait until it does a software update in the middle of a performance - Strings , wood and glue is all you need.

1.3k € for a toy that will be obsolete in 2 years cause they won't support the updates for this anymore... way too expensive! like top end smartphones

What is this "acoustic guitar" you speak of ?
Methinks he meant "a cute stick" rather than "acoustic", a reference to the thing sticking out of the side of the box he is holding 😅
Hmm...i don't know. I like all the options you have but the sound doesn't pull my socks off 😅 Or can you mix the effect more into the sound?

Cheaper 😂🤣😂 that's a good one. 1300 dollars isn't cheap.
tell me the value of this instrument in your country.because here in Brazil it is from 15 thousand reais to 20 thousand
Does it wonderwall?
I’m always worried about the tech part becoming obsolete like a 5 year old iPhone is there any danger of this ?
From what I understand, the company intends to continuously update the software and firmware.

You are not a grandpa. You are far too young to own an acoustic guitar.
All oinions are my own.
I hate it.
Ugly guitar ....
did you watch TENET on this thing?
Name of song in sound clip 2?
This is like ibanez rg6kp?( ibanez with touch sensored Koss pad) .Goes acoustic... meets line 6 or boss right now. Not going work.
That OS looks horrible.
Fluff looks better with his hair brushed back, kinda like a rockabilly pompadour. Helps hide the male pattern baldness.
Does it chug? I bet it does.
Missed distortion
I don't know if I'm crazy about your Mary Spender impression.

I played one last night at my friends house. He received a demo and I was completely surprised at how good it sounds.
is that a plastic guitar
It's carbon fiber, which is part of the appeal.
Ok, that's sick.
no thank you, a guitar has to look good .
Lemme get that
