I was looking for this intermission. They played this one along with the jumping hot dog at the 41 Twin Drive-In I went to as a kid. The memories are awesome.
This takes me back late 70's early 80's here in Houston they had a few Drive-Ins..one which I forgot the name, was awsome the front was lit up with titles of the films in red letters and had this maze that took about 5 minutes to get to the movie screen lot, which had 5 screens the snack bar was freakin huge , it had a shit load of pinball machines and arcade....Damn time flies
The drive in movie experience was special 👍 You could load up the car with the family in their pajamas , eat popcorn , burgers and hotdogs from the snack bar and watch a double feature
I remember seeing this in the late 70s at the Dent Drive-in which was located on the west side of Cincinnati in Dent Ohio. I know each and every nuance of the voice over and voice acting. Unbelievable how much useless crap our brain stores for retrieval 30 years later.
The animated introduction and "count-down transitions" were produced in 1974 (stills from "Cabaret", "The Godfather", "Serpico", "The Way We Were" and "Chinatown" are featured in the "Hollywood" montage).
What a time! Brings back memories of being taken to the drive-in by my parents. Who would have thought that as an adult, I have greater nostalgia for the drive in intermission ads than the films themselves?
Back in the late 70s I remember this intermission from 42 Drive-in south of Brunswick, Ohio. I could also head north on the highway and go to Pearl Rd. Drive-in, just a couple of exits north. Occasionally I would go to Montrose Drive-in not too far southeast from home. Now I have Blue Sky or Magic City Drive-in less than an hour drive from home.
A very minor trimmed-high quality version of the alien version can be seen at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre at Disney's Hollywood Studios along with the candy circus one.
We are fortunate to have the old drive in theater still in operation in Shebyville Indiana. Problem is daylight savings time. Owners were going to add another screen until the governor signed in to law DLS.
The bg music @ 7:40 was in a lot of old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, I think? I also think that I once heard in an episobe of My Three Sons? ..Hey, I'm old. I have a nice 35 mm (estar dupe) copy of this clock. I play it at my drive-in, in PA.
From south of spain.... Love Coffee n pop corns LOLLL never been to US!!! Funny intermission shows!!!!!! From classics past love n my prefer cotton candy lolol Greetings from south of spain!
@TigrisKhan Incorrect, on both counts. This was produced in 1963 by the animation department of National Screen Service in Los Angeles. I have the original trade paper announcements for it. Filmack could never produce something this polished, they were the bargain-basement studio (see the "Variety Clock"). Plenty of trailer companies were head and shoulders above them. Everyone today only thinks they were "the leading maker", simply because they are the last company standing.
I still wish they had intermissions on movies over 3 hours long, because i dont think one should hold it that long, it might cause bladder damage. hehe
the ford wyoming drive in derborn detroit shows this one on screen 3 with 5 minutes to go and the its intermission time announment. also they now accept credit and debit cards.
Subscribed and a 2021 Fanfiction intermission for Lunch so go to the Kitchen now. Get your Chicken Nuggets and Drink and French Fries with Onion rings then enjoy the story.
Heh, yeah, it does look similar, along with hearing Daws Butler in the voice cast and the use of Capitol Hi-Q stock music (as heard in a couple of "Fractured Fairy Tales" and a "Mr. Peabody" short), but it wasn't by Jay Ward though. I'm betting there were at least a few Jay Ward Productions veterans working on these though.
It was produced by National Cinema Service in 1963, the animation, visuals and backgrounds were later being influenced in “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic”.
This was made at Kling Studios, which was on the same lot as Hanna-Barbera. Some of the animators here are Don Williams, Cal Dalton, Lloyd Vaughan, Rudy Cataldi, and Ed Aardal
A lot of these ads look like they were made by Jay Ward productions, the Rocky and Bullwinkle people, if only they had Edward Everett Horton narrating them! Those French fries they keep showing look limp and disgusting. I wonder if the work prints of these films still exist? It would be nice to find them and restore them, if only to find out if the hamburgers really were that black.
And it worked. These ads always made me want to buy from the snack bar.
I remember watching this at the drive-in in the late 70's.
Donuts, peanuts & sandwiches? Boy, they sure had some unique treats back then, didn't they? Thanks for the tasty memories!

Thanks for the memories. Seems like yesterday.
drive ins were so cool glad there are a few of them still around and operating yet
OMG. I remember this as a child in the 60's, and believe it or not, they were STILL using it last time I went to a drive-in, in the early 2000's.
So u are in you 50s
When I was a little girl, my family and I went to the drive-in movie theater for the very first and only time.
I remember seeing this in the late 70s at the Dent Drive-in which was located on the west side of Cincinnati in Dent Ohio. I know each and every nuance of the voice over and voice acting. Unbelievable how much useless crap our brain stores for retrieval 30 years later.
Such simple times..oh the memories.
The animated introduction and "count-down transitions" were produced in 1974 (stills from "Cabaret", "The Godfather", "Serpico", "The Way We Were" and "Chinatown" are featured in the "Hollywood" montage).
At the drivings go go to they still use this intermission. Gotta love it
The drive in by my house plays this same intermission between the movies. I loved it when I went the first time last weekend and this started playing!
Still using this intermission at the Prides Conner Drive- IN (Maine) and the food at the snackbar taste great!
Damn I miss those Drive-in Days!
They still use a digitally remastered version of this at the Malta Drive-In in Malta, NY. I remember this from the drive-ins I went to in the 70s.
wjgolden0830 interesting😊
Same with Hull’s.
It's showtime and enjoy the show, folks!
OMG this still plays at the drive-in just across the Canadian border.
Amazing. 😯

Long live the Drive-in!
Hear-hear!!!
We sure could use them during this damn viral pandemic. 😷
I have NEVER in my LIFE seen a hot dog that looks as good as those. Obviously high-quality franks, but not what you see every day.

So tempting... Be right back
I wish call of duty had these kinds of intermissions
Popcorn,,,,,,drenched with hot melted butter
If only it were true.
All kinds of candies...
That "butter" has the same chemicals found in Turtle Wax in it. 😆
Time to set your die cast cars for Drive-In Theater of The South first The Intermission then Your Movie of The Choice
These Commercials are so nice.
Such shiny hot dogs!
I still wish they had intermissions on movies over 3 hours long, because i dont think one should hold it that long, it might cause bladder damage. hehe
Yeah, they look a little charred...oh well, I'd still eat it! Little cheese and ketchup will cover the taste!!
I would like to see them on dvd.
Dolores, there ARE a variety of DVDs available which bring these sorts of adverts together to enjoy. I suggest you do a search for them on Amazon.com.
@TimelordR If only AMC or Regal Entertainment had those in addition to their usual fare, then we'd be all set!
Even donuts? 🍩
@@luisreyes1963 Exactly.
i seen this one at the barrie triple drive-in
And if you don't like the movie. Slash The Seats
I still go to a Drive In Movie Theater
the ford wyoming drive in derborn detroit shows this one on screen 3 with 5 minutes to go and the its intermission time announment. also they now accept credit and debit cards.
My best of times and worst...
Subscribed and a 2021 Fanfiction intermission for Lunch so go to the Kitchen now.

You got it pal!!!! Awsome. Jay Wards style is unmistakable. Good memories.
Did he not do the Hawaiian punch guy too?
at least this is a clean print, somtimes bugs gets in between the lamp and lens and makes a mess.
I Bet They're Showing That Golf Movie 'Tin Cup' at The Drive-In
There used to be a drive-in in my town but it closed now the drive-in theaters are all but extinct
Get rid of smartphones! Bring back drive in theaters!
Its like they knew we were all stoned, rofl
@MultiJesse1995 They're trying to get people to buy the popcorn, burgers, sandwiches, etc. It makes them money. That's their job.
Charles DeLano that is where the money is. not just ticket sales but food and beverage sales.
I recognize the music 4:41 from an old "Little Thinker" tape I used to own.
thanks for sharing
with the bug ending up in the projector.
Is It A Good Idea to Order Snacks Marlee Matlin Style?
4:49: *MURDEROUS BASEBALL*
No way.
Champlain, as in Lake Champlain?
It looks like Jay Ward animation. I may be wrong, but the style is distinct.
Rip Film. 18??-2013
At 6:05- What music is used in this snack bar ad featuring the professor?
A lot of these ads look like they were made by Jay Ward productions, the Rocky and Bullwinkle people, if only they had Edward Everett Horton narrating them! Hokey smokes!!!
why does every drive-in mostly advertise the snack bar?
I should think the reason is obvious.
Ditto.
Jesse Hakinson It is where the money is.
There are some with TV commercials.
Rest in the good news 💐🌑👍 Okay bye
