This tutorial was a true eye-opener. I had never thought of such subtleties could be so fundamentally important for the expression. You had very good teachers, and obviously you were a very good student. My sincere gratitude for the content of this and all your video tutorials. Will definitely become a patron at some point in the near future. All the best.

Fabulous lesson as always I personally liked when you said you have to think of yourself as a musician not a guitar player. Thinking that way can help keep things in perspective and how you as a musician fit into the bigger picture.. Wait.. Did that make any sense.
Lol. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend dear Merce. 🙏 🎸 🎶 ❤

Thank you for this lesson Merce! The point you present regarding thinking as a musician & not simply a guitarist is an excellent one. All instrumentalists, as well as tons of singers, should adopt this ideology! 👍👍😃

Hey Merce -- coming in late to this one..but anyway... whoa! Paradigm shift there! Really incredibly useful historical/musical context info here..will have to apply this on some of the pieces I've been working on. I see some of the Guiliani pieces I worked on earlier do have some slurs I should revisit. So about when would you say the paradigm shifted over to the louder slurs?

I think you are amazing. I am a rock player. I am in no way as disciplined as you or I’m sure your peers. This is extremely interesting to me. I’m going to go through your history and try to take what I can from it. May I ask do you ever allow yourself to play rock or blues? Minor pentatonic for instance? I bet you would ….. it would be too much.
    Rock on sister.
    Cheers From Canada.
