I'm 63 and I've been a music lover all my life but this is the first time i've ever sat thru an Opera. This was/is just brilliant, a wonderful accomplishment for all involved in its production. And the music and story? Just fabulous. Wonderful, super skilled singers and a tremendous, sensitive orchestra. I'm so very impressed!!! Massive congratulations!!!
Simple hypothèse.../// Alfred Einstein (not Albert) tells us that Mozart was the greatest opera composer. He said somewhere that from a certain time his operas as well as all his vocal music such as his masses or his masonic compositions, and up to the last opera, should be counted among his major works. It is worth concentrating and listening to Mozart properly. In 10 years you could discover some more details that had escaped you. Mozart was particularly fond of voices. In addition to being immersed in a musical environment, his mother was a singer (soprano, I think) which means that in her womb, in the most intimate part of her, he heard her singing even before he was born. Simple hypothesis...
I like that the recitatives are in the native language of where the production is set (English, in this case), but the songs are still in German. So many times, I find myself trying to read the words and I miss the acting of the actors and the set designs, etc. This way, for me (being fluent in English), I can concentrate on the full production, but still get the original music and Lyrics of Mozart. I really like this format. The purists don't seem to like it in the comments, but as long as they don't touch the music and lyrics, the recitatives can be in any language. Love the production! Almost like being there! "almost"...
Wonderful. This was the first time I'd listened to the opera all the way through, and I'm very glad I chose this performance, which was first rate. The Pasha's generosity of spirit at the end moved me deeply; where he could have punished his prisoners, he instead gave them their freedom, which was a wonderful message to send in this violent world.
Utterly delightful! A very different take with Belmonte’s dream. Amazing what a small cast can do! The singing was exquisite. Makes me wonder how Belmonte, Osmin, and Konstanze can sustain those long notes without betraying their breath. ❤❤❤❤❤ love this production. Kudos to the director, the costumes and the scenery. Thank you for posting this…without ads as well!
Actually, Josef II of Austria wasn’t half the fool he was depicted as in “ Amadeus”. Among other liberal reforms, he repealed all the discriminatory laws against the Jews.
The translation of spoken dialogue into English was a welcome change. I just don't understand why you invented this "Belmonte's dream" thing. That's a little bit that's kind of relevant to the story, and you guys just went "nah, that didn't even happen at all." It seems like too much intrusion on the part of the stage direction.
If she wants to up her game she must learn to walk light and graceful on the stage. I don't think she's wearing character heals under that dress because she looks and sounds like she's wearing some kind of hard leather loafer.
She is most likely wearing historically accurate heels. Baroque heels are lower and clunkier than modern heels. There is also no noise canceling or sound editing on this video.

Thanks I come here for that
Great observation Jacob!
I came to this video after watching the Amadeus clip
with my daughter many times during the Pandemic Years.
And 2:01:53 is the finale
Thanks !
Thank you so much!
There are simply too many notes
Yes, yes. On the whole, yes.
Mm hm
There are just as many notes, Majesty, as are required. Neither more nor less.
Word!
True man of culture

You are a legend. Just saved me 2 hours.
@Fixer Fibo Thank you :-)
That part is the "Turkish Finale" or Bassa Selim Lebe Lange
Thank you so much!!
1:16:25 Magic Flute reference. LOL! Well done.

I agree.
Thank you, we are very happy to hear that you liked this format.
1:02:03 for ten minutes of ghastly scales.
Ohhh, you, Salieri!
Lol, great Salieris's monologue
Thank you!!
It is called music! You don't hear it much anymore! lol
I think what the emperor meant by “ too many notes”, although I disagree.
Wonderful singing, especially Konstanze!
Agreed, if only her German were better.
She has a beautifully sweet tone, doesn't she!

Excellent singing!
L'opera che più mi piace semplicemente fantastica.
The respites of English dialog are really useful; please try to incorporate that where you're able.
I love the production!
1:07:55 💜

Tiene demasiadas notas.
1:19:35 ayo my man doin fortnite dance 😂
Flossing dance.
tres bonne interpretation
Mozart's first operatic masterpiece was in fact Idomeneo
I am not a fan of other than German performance but this Vivat Bacchus was fun. Bravo.
But this is sung in German. What is everyone talking about the language for?
I love Konstanze's outfit !
38:00 the whip is stuck first time haha

So proud of My Ottoman Ancestors. Alhamdulillah.. ❤Unique Mozart❤

nice staging and subtitles, the soprano is no coloratura..
3@@@❤❤❤
First they are English, then Spanish.
Only the maid, Blondchen, was English. Belmonte, Pedrillo, and Konstanze were all Spanish.
Last part was too slow and quiet ngl

bro started flossing in an 18th century opera💀
Very good, but ... too many languages.
Cut a few and it'll be perfect.
Which language did you have in mind, majesty?
Imagine someone hit dislike on that 😂😂😂😂😂 what they think
Ok we are all polyglots but. No English please. It s Mozart, not Haendel... Anyway, great performance, nice to hear and to see.
Too many languages. Cut one or two and it'll be perfect.
Which language did you have in mind, majesty?
Too many notes
7.5/10 too many notes
Good one! 😂
Why do they have to put operas in languages other than what they were written in? Why can't they just maintain the original language?
I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to know the answer
😂😂😂
Nice singing and music, but atrocious acting.
Please stick with one language. The switching is jarring.
Actually, I didn’t mind. I know some German, but a lot of people don’t.
Too many notes
