TURN THEM ALL ON AT ONCE
tom rabbani I did!
At once At once at once at once...
Would sound like hells gate were opening up
Just discovered your channel. You're a dude's dude and fill that void that's missing in the you tube guitarist category-a cool down to earth guy. Glad you're having success. Keep killin' it.
Dave B welcome!
Right on Man! He's a killer Shoegazer guitarist too😎
I feel like you’d be a really good teacher. Like going to class would actually be fun!
"Pikechoooo, echooose you"
Just got a Donner Yellow Fall shipped for $30. Its actually a damn nice, intuitive, and well built pedal. Slap-back comes easy, and while it doesn't have tap tempo its easy to sync repeats.
I'm curious about the newer Yellow Falls. I have an original model I got from when they came out, probably within the first year or two (if I recall release time frames.) Mine has an awful latch click when pressing. Unusable live as it pops through my chain muted or unmuted. Wondering if the newer models are cleaner/better quality. I just bought their compressor and have yet to try it and see how the quality is on the switches. (Sidebar, my Donner Revecho is silent and smooth to engage, which is weird that their standard line is harder to press)
UPDATE. Got the Mugig Echoooes for my Birthday today and my lady assures me she used your link bro. Great Delay for the cost!!!!
Mimi, Azur, joyo etc. They're all the same circuit but they're all good for the price!
I had bad luck with an Azur compressor pedal. It is noisy and sometimes distorts the signal even with the compressor all the way at zero. I would try to find a different cheap pedal brand other than Azur if I was you.
If your videos have taught me anything it's that if all my gear got stolen I could easily spend a hundred quid or so on Amazon and be gig ready again.
I just love this series. Thanks Ryan. Half a world away but I love your show and as a newbie and a scotsman, love your budget reviews...
No one:
Ryan: Palm muted pentatonic run.
its my default delay testing riff.
Everyone does that.
And all npcs be like: no one:
I prefer the analog delay over the digital. I recently got the Azor analog delay and it's a pretty decent pedal for $21. With it and my Peavey Bandit 112 Red Stripe, I was able to get a sound that was a decent approximation of the ''Barracuda'' sound. Plus, it's just fun to goof around with.
Watching this gave me a salvia flashback.
Fr I was trippin hard listening to all those delays
@Erok Magnag bruh
Got my MuGIG Echooooos in mail today - very solid, very usable and versatile with the "Mod" light chorus along with delay options. Great for solos and funky rhythms. Best $25 bucks I have spent on my board. Great review! Good timing for me in the market for new delay.
You're a straight forward, honest, down to earth fella that is just fun to listen to. Thanks and keep it up. I'm an extreme frugaliist and like the best bang for your buck. Any frame suggestions for your board?
14:16 almost exact sound from atari 2600 game with two cowboys shooting each other
This is like watching a kid open Christmas presents. I have never wanted a delay pedal before and now I do.
Watched it, bought it, liked the video. Done, and done...
"Now I want more! :-("
The MiMi is a rebranded Azor, which is Caline's mini line
Wow! Thanks Ryan! So glad you liked the name. Keep making these super fun videos. I'll pm you about the prize. Thanks again!
Rod Moyes is there a way to pm through RUclips?
@@60CycleHumcast um... apparently not. What's the best way to get you my info?
@@rodmoyes80s 60cyclehumcast@gmail.com
the twinote i would definitely call a clean digital delay with just a little lowpass filtering in the loop. the kmise is most likely a PT chip delay, so digital but very trashy and non-linear enough for cheap manufacturers to call "analog." the echooooos is really unique, i haven't heard anything respond to feedback mangling like that yet it's pretty nice and clean when left alone. i'm seriously thinking about getting one now, or two for stereo even. mimi also sounds like a cheap nasty PT chip, i like them personally but wouldn't use them as my main go-to delay, their crunch is more fatiguing than true analog bucket brigade or higher end digital delays.
Damn, that weird glitchiness of the mugig kind of makes me want it just a liiiiiittle bit
Yeah, just ordered.
I'm curious to dig into it. May be able to make it even more glitchey for synths and such. It would be awesome to tweak it in my limited keyboard playing and doing something I can't do with guitar.
Also, bought them through the affiliate links. Support this man! He is awesome. I would by him a beer/drink of choice if I saw him in a bar/restaurant here in Chicago.
A few months ago Amazon had a deal on them for just under $18 I had one til a few months ago when I sold it. I liked it!! I only got rid of it because I got a new delay
my exact thoughts
Also the all-pedals-on demo was unexpectedly badass.
I want to like the echooooos but that Mimi... just something sweet sounding about that. Definitely gonna snag the mimi.
Snag both if you can at these prices.
@@CargoElf valid
Echooooos! I choose you!
Annoyed..everytime a go to buy a pedal they are unavailable because you suggested them. Love the series
I bought that mimidi pedal before lockdown I tried to get one for my buddy.
Now I know why there sold put and asshats on reverb were scalping these.
I liked it for what it was :)))
Just bought one myself. Easiest delay
Dang. That Echooos sounds nice.
I've been binge watching this playlist for the last week.
It started off as research, now its just recreational.
I love them! This is my fave one so far!!
Damn, you played the Cuvave again. That pedal sounds so cool. I might not be able to resist now!
@The Tired Horizon Keep an eye on Ebay. There aren't any there now, but I remember looking at the time and they were around £20 new on there. Hopefully they'll come up again!
I picked one up on Amazon last week. The time line to get here in the States is March 18th-April 8th.
This scratches my itch to find out what these discount pedals actually sound like. Kind of cool.
I got the moogoo flanger and it kept me shelling out 180 bucks for another big ass pedal. It’s like a compact electric mistress for 18 bucks. And that light blue mimidi delay for 20 bucks. Only 3 left at amazon They pop up once in a while and gone.
I think you need a super cheap ring mod/crazy pedal added to the affordaboard.
The first one is a Mooer digital voiced analog. Then we get a Joyo. I do not know who does the 3rd one? The 4th is a Caline.
OOPS! the 3rd one is a Caline and the 4th is a Biyang
The 3rd one is a Caline Rock Face it goes for $27.00 USD with free shipping on AliExpress
I just ordered an Echooooooooos last night. I didn't look for videos or anything before hand. I thought I'd try that one because of the modulated delay. Now that I watched this vid I'm glad I picked it.
That mod sound is pretty sweet and different.
Yo nice, thanks for doing noise tests. So many ppl *cough jhs* ignore self osc like it's an unfortunate by-product.
one of the songs i play with my band is dependent on self oscillation, so its something i always check for. also its just a lot of fun.
Nice demo; the p90 really bring out your playing style.
Holy shit that’s a beautiful guitar
And another great video from Ryan.... without a doubt the most fun to watch personality on guitar topics
I wonder if the Ana Delay is a shrunken Nux Analog Delay?. They (Twinote) make another pedal called the "BBD Delay", a copy of the Nux Analog Delay which uses the same BBD chip as the Ibanez AD-80 apparently. That one's in a bigger enclosure though.
If the Ana Delay is BBD-analog with tap tempo, that would definitely make it one of the best value delays out there. Sounded pretty good to me on this play through.
The Mugig was suprisingly cool on the mod setting too, kinda sounded like a delay/reverb in one. Apparently the on off switch pops though. A big problem with cheap pedals which makes them unusable in a band situation.
More great stuff.....Thanks
Great vid. Just subscribed and I just bought that blue mini Mimi pedal can’t wait to plug it in
I think that’s the answer - all of them, all at once..
I have the mini version of that Echoos. I'm no delay expert. But I really like it.
I got the kmise delay. Don't care for it. The switch makes a loud click that of course repeats, the repeats knob is useful only upto about 11:00. I may keep this for slapback but I'll be looking for another one for long delay.
EDIT: after playing a few gigs with it my thoughts prove accurate. The Kmise is okay as a slap back. Still need a good long delay... probably bucket brigade style.
RYAN I love this series with affordable gear. I love that you use an affordable guitar with them. Request: Can you find and demo, - maybe even for putting it on the Affordaboard-, a good cost-effective polyphonic octave generator? I'm looking for something to cover Jack White Material and other stuff like that. Thanks!
alphajames33 Take a look at the Cuvave octave pedal bro, it might be what you’re looking for! Straight away POG style but *analog*! I might be mistaken, but that’s what I’ve heard. Try it out! Costs close to nothing
TC Electronics SubNUp with toneprint is what you’re looking for. You can snag them used for $60-70 if you’re patient.
2:44 That Kmise is the same as the Saphue I have here and that I paid 18 euros for, exact same size, layout, buttons and color. It's also the same as about a dozen of other 'brands'. They just mass produce these pedals and slap any name on it that they want. Same with Chinese watches, mass produced and the only difference is the 'brand' name and markings. We call em 'sticky brands' here in Holland, because of them sticking any name on it that they want.
Correction: I looked it up, the original price for the Saphue was 18 euros, after coupons discount I only paid 13 euros for it =) to me that's almost for free. I don't use it a lot though, it's at the end of my signal chain that goes straight to amp, post noise gate, along with a Saphue chorus I got for the same price, I tap em both when I use gain pedals without cranking my preamp.
Must. Find. Echoooos.
Those are likely all pt2399-based (not analog) delays
So what would you recommend for real analog bbd delay with true bypass? I’m going in circles looking for a decent mini pedal (or less expensive). I know digital is ok these days but I want to try all analog board.
Bryan: if you want to try something a bit more DIY, get a Karaoke plate reverb circuit on eBay. They're only around 3$ so you can't get any cheaper than that. Add a few jacks and a battery and you're off to the races. Granted they're not the best reverb, but for 3$, what more can you ask for?
hmm ill have to check that out.
That’s a great idea!!
Loved the Mugig Echooos! Can you demo the Mugig Reverburg? I can't find a good demo anywhere. Thanks
Thanks dude, no one else really tests the delays into spaceship territory. I have cool delay on my rack mount, but I'm looking for a cheap delay I can mod to take expression pedals for those spacey sounds. Side note, I watch your channel a bit and we suffer from the same sickness, many guitars that need better tuners; that we ignore and just buy a new guitar..
now all I want is a multi delay board....
clearly the echooooos won
if the dollar wasnt so expensive in my country i would buy it
Mooer and Rowin ana echo are the only mini pedals I know of that use bbd chips (analog)
Hi there from a new subscriber. I'm new to your channel but just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this video. You got some great sounds out of these pedals and I really enjoyed how you've shown the various settings and self oscillation, etc.
I kind of can't believe they are so cheap. I've been yearning for a delay pedal and was looking at the EHX Grand Canyon but I'm going to seriously considering getting one of these or something similar instead. I know these aren't quite as feature rich but wow - what an unbelievable value!
I'll rewatch this later but my first impression was that I'd probably go with the Mimi out of these. It really sounded great and I like the big knob for the "time" setting too. It's definitely handy for stepping on it and changing it in a live setting.
I've been using a Donner Echo square on my board for about a month. $28 is a lot cheaper than trying to find a used old Boss delay. Guess I still want a DD-2 cause they got such a nice tone reputation. But over $100 closer to $150 these days and 15-20 yrs old.
Birthday is in a week or so, now I know what to tell my lady to swoop up for me. Great shoot out man.
Ryan, you are the king of finding these cheap pedals!
The green delay is kinda like an alien translator machine while roling the knob back and fort lol, hehe but I kinda like it cheers!
Love these videos man! It maybe just me, but I find it funny that the Chinese manufacturers are making sub brands and knock offs of their knock offs! Caline takes it a step further and says hey, since it’s OUR pedal we’re making Azor versions of, we’ll just call them the same thing as our originals!!✌🏻😉
I have a Caline 10band eq and it's quiet and very responsive!
I thought analogue would mean Echo-plex or Copy-cat-ish. They're good pedals for the dough, I have the "spring reverb" one. That was a bit obvious that it didn't contain a spring reverb, considering it's size. I love it though.
Ta.
Youd be looking for a tape style delay. they're usually going to be digital unless you spend the big bucks on an actual tape delay
@@bradfreed1942 I've got a Copy-cat which I bought used in 1973. It's still going but very noisy. I have a couple of these Chinese budget peds. All excellent value. Thanks.
@@Peasmouldia nice, I'd love to have one of those. If you're looking for an echoplex sound, the cheapest pedal I know of that gets pretty close is the TC electronic gauss. It's not $20 like some of these but you can definitely find them for like $40 used / $60 new
@@bradfreed1942 Thanks, I'll be taking a look at that.
Im not even a guitarist but enjoyed this. 28:00 is the bit you wanna start at. I CHOOSE the Echoooose too :D
nice guitar! I've got one same color, it's stunning! interesting delay pedals
17 hours later, the Twinote Ana Delay is going for well over 3x the price.
damn, that sucks.
Just wait it out
The light got me with the mimi. I tried resisting. I had to give in
Ahh, too bad the Mugig Echooos is no longer available!
Ah lame
Delllkay on Saturday affordabiard
Ryan, would you ever consider shooting out mini delays that aren't for the afford-a-board. Like mini Carbon Copy, Mooer Ana Delay and Ibanez mini delay? I can't find comparisons on youtube and I want a mini delay for quarter note delay to thicken my sound.
The 2 blues dark one for fun light one for more classic sound
For a little bit more (I payed $35) you can get a Donner Yellow fall. It has the PT2399 chipset that all you kids like, lol (Its in a bunch of boutique pedals). It's a nice, warm sounding basic delay, that will self oscillate. It's marketed as analog, but it's digital-I could care less, it sounds really nice (warm and natural).
michaelmitchell7 I had one and it didn’t self oscillate
@@60CycleHumcast That's Odd, if I go past 4 O'clock it will, past 5 and it's completely out of control-
michaelmitchell7 maybe there is drift in the component tolerances. Or I just got a bad one.
@@60CycleHumcast Probably, I doubt Donner has the same QC as EQD or walrus...lol
I'm planning on replacing mine with the DOD rubber neck...so many possibilities- especially with the effect loop
Love the oscillating space sound. Getting a pedal soon, trying to decide between analog/digital
Honestly man go digital with multiple options so you can decide what you like the most
Like maybe you might love a good reverse delay or maybe you’ll love a modulated delay
That’s the good thing about digital delays with multiple options
If you find out what you like you can use that and then you have other options to be able to do more
@@bennycheca9426 I'm building an analog/low-noise board first, then I'll invest in the rest. I used to only use distortion with the mids scooped on any solid-state and was happy. Then I went all clean, then started pursuing tubes, the 'cleanest' sound I can think of. Still haven't gotten tubes yet. Someday...
Contacted Home Affairs re my last order from China (in Au) They recommended leaving the package alone for up to a week before opening or touching contents.
This has aged well
Affordaboard is a great name for it.
Echooos is the one baby
I have heard you mention playing in a church several times, can you do a church gear rundown for people like me who are starting/wanting to play electric guitar in church?
He already did!
ruclips.net/video/5j6VM4jpPdE/видео.html
@@fenderjazzface999 thanks for the link!
@@57ladders77 sure thing!
Never sampled the little blue one 🤦♂️
Wow, what a show. With 3 other KMISE on the board I would have tried the delay in the mix before tossing it. Also that was all heavy handed, I would have liked to see how they sounded when you just knew they were on. That too for all the pedals. You can really tell what holds up that way. Maybe in the future. That said, this was really fun, I'm going to experiment too.
You're costing me Hum Man!
Dwight Fullmer I don’t understand most of what you just said.
Sorry. I liked the show and the series.
The main pedal board had 3 KMISE pedals on it and I would have tried the KMISE delay on that board just to see how it worked with the other KMISE pedals. Sticking to 1 brand sometimes works good. You did a lot of highly effected demos of each pedal, but the only sound that seemed usable to me was the rockabilly slap back. I sometimes use as little repeats as possible, and make the sound bigger and smoother. Less is more sort of thing. Thanks for checking out my post. That's Great. Now I'm going to buy some mini's too. That's how you're costing me money. I'm all inspired by what you've done. Now I have to use the Amazon links for sure!
Dwight Fullmer ah gotcha. I was mostly trying to show off the tonal qualities of each delays repeats. When I get all the other Kmise pedals I’ll do a video with all of them together.
@@60CycleHumcast If I use your link to an Amazon pedal, can I then navigate to other pedals and you still get credit for my purchase?
Dwight Fullmer yep! There’s a 24 hour window where I might get a cut of anything you might buy.
You probably are already aware, but the vast majority of MIC 'analog' delays are not analog (they are pt2399-based)
You could pop 'em open, though, as a public service ;)
Does the mini pedals sound different from the regular size ones? What's the difference if any in sounds etc? I haven't bought any new gear in over 25 years
The clear winner is the echooos it sounds really good to me and costs way less then pedals I've paid 10 times more for did you have to wait forever to get it?where do I get one?
I subscribed!
It was as easy as playing Polyphia licks
Cool video BUT... your guitar signal is clipping almost all the way through the video demo. I think it might have been just a tad too hot for the RUclips Loudness Police. 🤷🏼
cooL
Ha! I am *TOTALLY* with you on that light blue pedal. That color is sweet! Also, I love that guitar...but I thought you didn’t like the USDream on the Kmise review vid?
Yeah, I wonder if he just found a good way to dial it in. I could see his point in that first video where it aired, but it does sound good here.
Good stuff, dude.
The Kmise/Saphue delay MIX control, isn't very useful. The signal is still heavily saturated with the MIX zeroed out.
you're good at what you're doing. None of these pedals are available right now. Do you know what the deal is?
i dont see why people like the Echoos ?
I gotta say... When you need that many pedals.. Cables cost enough to look at sonicboom and the likes
Affordaboard looks like Kmise Klinger
Sold all my electrics over pedal fever. Acoustics got pickups real fast.
Lots of those are nice on their own, together sometimes it's a mess. hahaha
Ah choooooooozzzza
I am looking forward for those cheap tremolos! Not expecting much from the reverbs.....it would be amazing if you found a GOOD DRIP cheap reverb pedal.
Herro Glop I’m not expecting to find a good drip, but if I found a nice plate sound I’d be happy.
It's difficult to find a good drip in any pedal.
ECHOOOOS THREE FREEZE
i like the face you make when it starts to make this crazy noise. u look so satisfied xD
so entertaining Ryan! how do you like the Harley Benton guitar and where can you purchase one?
whoops figured it out on your drop down, thanks!
Lol the Echoos, i want it for that price but i only see it on american amazon is it rebranded for europe? I mean shipping+taxes is probably more expensive than the pedal itself when i order from across the ocean^^
Is there a cheap delay pedal that has a carry over switch like a dd8? its when you turn off the pedal n theres a “tail” effect meaning the delay effect still lingers depending on the repeats
which one would you recommend for EVH? thanks
I've watched a few of these, and the Mugig line seems to have vanished from the Earth, or just been rebadged.
Looks like the Echoooos pedal jumped up in price after this video was made.
Mimi Delay is on the way!
