You know you’ve screwed up when Johnny Manziel is the voice of reason
That interview he did on Club Shay Shay was wonderful! Dude just put the NCAA and Heisman Brass on notice.
the USC case was always a bizarre outlier even for the NCAA and because of it, it was the beginning of the end for the NCAA’s credibility. Helped along by their own enthusiasm for shooting themselves in the foot with even worst bunglings like Miami and Baylor.
He had a legendary run during his time at USC and was partly responsible for reestablishing the Trojans as a national title contender during the Pete Carroll era. Glad to see him regain what he earned.
NCAA failed to prove that USC had any knowledge of this
Should've never lost it to begin with. He's the best RB I've ever watched on TV.
Glad he got it back.
Glad Reggie Bush got it back 🎉.....
It’s great that he got Vince Young’s Heisman twice.
Sorry....Vince Young has no heisman and never has had a heisman AND never will have a heisman....sorry not sorry
The one Vince Young should have received?
As Anton Chigurh said, "If the rule you follow brought you to this place, of what use is the rule?"
Shouldn’t have been taken in the first place and after it was taken shouldn’t have been returned
Good for Reggie. Anyone who saw him singlehandedly carry the team when everyone else was choking in that game against Fresno State in '05 knows he deserved it.
Josh from my understanding what your saying isn’t correct. Your saying having a rule for paying for players was illegal it is not. The not getting paid for name, image and likeness was illegal part.
TLDR not getting paid to play football isn’t illegally, using that players name, image and likeness is
Interesting how he got Vince young’s heisman back
Who cares, it was already diminished by giving it to Bush over Vince Young.
it should of been Vince Young's Heisman.
Young doesn’t seem to agree. LoL.
False
I hate the NIL and the transfer portal. But under these new rules, the NCAA needs to give Miami and SMU their reparations back.
Nevin Shapiro was 100% guilty of a ponzi scheme, but he didn't do anything that these NIL boosters aren't doing now as far as paying players. Luke from 2LiveCrew was just doing what a local car dealer can do now. And if you want to be technical, Craig James and Eric Dickerson were two of the first NIL players.
The transfer portal and NIL, if they are kept in their current form, will ruin college football
Reggie Bush does not deserve to get the Heisman back and never should have won it to begin with. He was granted the award on an uneven playing field where he was given advantages over other players who followed the rules. Reggie Bush played with the mental clarity that comes with economic security of cash and free rent for his family. He never had to worry about them being taken care of. Vince Young followed the rules. He didn't take cash nor did his family have free rent. I can't speak to the Young family's economic situation at the time, but Vince did go to Madison High School, which serves an economically disadvantaged portion of Houston and where 92% of students receive free and reduced lunch. Maybe VY would have performed better if he wasn't worrying about his family's financial security - an against-the-rules luxury Reggie was handed. Maybe not. None of us know, but it does suggest that this issue is more nuanced that you want to give it credit for. Competitions don't exist in a vacuum.
Josh says that if the courts say a 40 mph rule was illegal, your 70 mph ticket should be dismissed. But what if it's a race where you're driving 70 and the other guy is following the rules and driving 40? Not much of a race in that case - it's one guy following the rules and being "beaten" by somebody who thinks they are above them.
Here's the one thing we know. On USC's 4th down play to win the game, Reggie Bush was on the sidelines. On Texas' 4th down play to win the game, Vince was "going for the pylon and he's got it." Scoreboard, Trojans.
It's not even Reggie Bush's Heisman trophy. It's VY's, and we all know it
nah bruh you buggin. I love VY but Reggie was cooking on a different level
@@MrJerzeydevil a great RB is a great RB. When VY was in college the CFB world had never seen anything like it before. Defenses had nothing to stop him. Oh and he won the natty that against the fake Heisman
@@dwern15 there was guy named Michael Vick who proceeded him and was just as good with a fraction of talent around him. Secondly that award is given before the NCG so it’s not valid.
@@MrJerzeydevil I will agree Vick was phenomenal but,
1) Micheal Vick didn't win a natty
2) Vick didn't have the passing ability like VY.
3) Vick didn't will his team to an undefeated season.
4) Vick played in a weak ass conference
No one played QB like VY, until VY, period.
Welp, the Gators will be requesting the '84, '85 and '90 SEC titles back. May as well claim the '84 and '85 national titles as well. The rules no longer matter retroactively and Bama claims a natty for a four loss season.
Regardless of the rules now it was illegal then. He deserved having it stripped, this isnt a case of a mistake it was a blatant violation of the rules.
Reggie Bush is the greatest player in the history of CFB.
It should’ve been taken away for that pitch he turned into a fumble that led to Texas’s last and final natty
Last and Final Natty? Your about to be dissapointed very soon
Jontay porter is banned for life for something legal.
Yeh yeh. He broke the rules during his playing time. Society as whole is soft. Most athletes are criminals. The argument it’s illegal
Is just lame. Similar to OJ we all know he did it. Yet he walked. I don’t support giving it back. While we are doing that let’s revisit 1973-74 season national champions. 🤷🏻♂️ Plus using Manziels opinion is just stupid. As if his judgement is legit and moral. 🤣
Take it back, he doesn't deserve it, you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, point blank. I could care less what Johnny football says, he's a cluster F himself. Reggie broke the rules then, no matter what they are now.
