    Fascinating to see this from the other side, Ne5 was a fantastic move. I'd like to claim my exchange sacrifice was a piece of fine judgement but I'd actually just forgotten the Rook arrived on f1 after castling!

    Great “live action” in-game commentary.
    Had me cracking up when he caught himself saying, “well I do know some people who enjoy back spankers.”
    Shows you the entire range of the internal monologue that can go on over the chess board, and that he’s having fun in his head while playing.
    I bet there’s been some hilarious stuff said up there, internally, over the years. I could just imagine sitting across from this player and seeing him grin to himself and wondering if he’s just found a good move, but really he’s just thinking, “well, there are some people who do like back spankers.”

    Very interesting game you brike the b finegold ' s first rules never play f6 that s funny every time i need or want to play pawn f6 i remember finegold ' s first rule then i think that if your oponent takes your bishop on b4 it would be his best move because he takes back a piece and his queen is protecting e1 so your queen can t go on e1 to checkmate thanks and regards from france

    In this game despite your high accuracy 98% your processor is contradicting your queen's on b3 which is the best move according to my processing unit..some programs software are using the whole chess encyclopedia with all variations.
    And other software are missing are missing quiet few variations.

    Ginger is like me. Not a huge sports fan, but likes to watch interesting stuff like Snooker. Played pool for 30 years or so in the US, before giving up due to ... life getting in the way of fun. But I do love watching skateboarding, and Curling on TV. I feel like I should subscribe to the Obscure Sports Quarterly :)

    • @prisonerofrocknroll8250
      @prisonerofrocknroll8250 5 лет назад

      And of course Snooker is a sport. I would say that the WC is physically and mentally more brutal and demanding as many other sports can get.

  • @ym276
    @ym276 5 лет назад +1

    Of course Simon won because he is the stronger player, but I don't think e4 is a great way to play against the Albin, I think Nf3 followed by a3 to control the key b4 square just gives white a big advantage

    • @prisonerofrocknroll8250
      @prisonerofrocknroll8250 5 лет назад

      I agree to that. Playing d4,c4,de,e4,f4 just feels extremely s-l-o-w to me.

    • @GingerGM
      @GingerGM  5 лет назад

      Yes, you're probably right there. The only issue with that is that you must learn many more variations. It is often key to weigh up lots of theory, which is probably better with simple lines which are still ok.

    I dont agree with the bishop pair thing, I mean I am about 1500 and I am winning more games utilizing it if I can (nothing wrong to exchange it in said position tho)

      @@GingerGM I do in quick time controls, cause it's easier for my opponent to blunder into a knight fork than a bishop pin/skewer, lol. But in long time controls, especially as a player who often fianchettos, I really am attached to my bishops.

    Chess.com engine is so bad man, its full of mistakes, it tells you you made lots of mistakes, then when you go through the correct line it suggests, it's not that different from the one you played anyway ... Chess.com is garbage !!!

    • @William1w1
      @William1w1 5 лет назад +3

      It's a new feature, and yeah, it's not so good. If you turn on the analysis lines and go through your game that way, it's fine, of course; but the report function just goes way too fast and doesn't do enough depth on the moves. Often it will say I made a mistake, but then, after waiting five seconds, the Stockfish lines show that my move was best. To reiterate, the engine is fine, but the report function should take longer, probably several minutes for a normal game. They should really make that an option.

    • @GingerGM
      @GingerGM  5 лет назад +1

      I find it a very useful tool. It has the advantage of pointing out those obvious mistakes. At least that way you shouldn't make the same error twice!
