Was waiting for this! The dialogues were a reference to his old films 'Ranga' (1982) and a song in Ninithale Innikum. And the bracelet around his arm is something he wore in his other much older films as a Coolie. So hence the title. It's the longest teaser for a title reveal for a Lokesh movie, so you can tell he's giving it his absolute best. This looks like a blast and I cannot wait for this. Lokesh has in fact teased that this film may show Thalaivar (Rajinikanth) in a negative light this time, like his older films back in the day, what he first started off as. So we'll see!
And love what Achara said about Rolex and the potential connection this film may have to the rest, pay more attention Jaby! 💀

@@dineshjoshua4422 Yes! The D.I.S.C.O song is from there! I was referring to the dialogues. It's a repeat of a line from the vintage song 'Jagame Thanthiram' from the 1979 film 'Ninaithale Inikkum', and then was used again in the film 'Ranga' in 1982.

@aryann4570 Actually no, Thee is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's Deewar. Two different films. Rajinikanth never did a remake for Coolie. This film isn't a remake either. We don't know what to expect from Lokesh, but the title is Coolie as reference to Thalaivar's older films like 'Uzhaipaali' (1993), 'Mannan' (1992), and 'Mullum Malarum' (1978) where he's played the role of a coolie.

One thing you have to give to Lokesh is how he presents his hero in all "GOD" mode. Be it Vijay in Leo, Kamal Hassan and Suriya in Vikram, Karthi in Kaithi or Vijay Thomas & Vijay Setupathi in Master, he always present his Hero in such a beautiful manner, it gives them a different aura altogether. Anirudh's music direction should be studied in Berkley and London School of Arts because he is a Master.

The "D.I.S.C.O Disco Disco" song was composed by the living great Ilayaraja.. He also composed the "Shenbagame" (whistle towards the end of trailer) . Both were composed in 80s
