As odd as it sounds. After seeing this version, the other version, and the original. I still kind of want to see a what-if version. Like what if she hadn't gone to prom. Would the girl had found some way to get at Carrie in public? Would Carrie's life be different? The thing at prom was a powder keg waiting to blow. But was the event causing her to snap something that is inevitable?
The only what if I would want to know is what if she is stil alive somehow? And somehow leveled up her telekinesis to unlock branches of psychokinesis which could help explain the disturbing visions Sue was witnessing after she gave birth? Alternatively, what if she did die but her telekinesis evolved that much that her 'spirit' or consciousness was able to stay and play around with the minds of others. 🤔
A class full of girls can bully another girl for having a period. Somehow this doesn't sit well with me. I am a man so what do I know, but I like to believe we live in a better world.
It's a story written by a male author.....who probably believes in the 'mean girl friendgroup' stereotype.... in real life women follow the girl code esp when it comes to periods.
We don't live in a better world, I stopped believing this recently. I'm 34 and guys make fun of me because they are frustrated, also happened while my mom was dying, and after that. People talk bad about me in my neighborhood, I don't even know them, I was harassed and they could have just asked my name and stuff but noooo...rumors ruined me, that's what frustrated guys do, they spread rumors.
The alternative ending would be been good. To me it would've meant Carrie learned everything through death and saw that if Sue never had her boyfriend invite her to the prom..everyone would still be alive. Including herself and her mother...
@@DanDCool True! *However, what is the phrase...When you accidentally cause a catastrophe thinking you were trying to do the right thing? (I forgot the phrase or word.) Trust me.. I'm not blaming Sue at all. She was just trying to do the right thing.
Part of the books plot is that the road to hell was paved with Sues GOOD and honest intentions. She has to testify before congress and most people dont believe that she went against her friends to be nice to Carrie. They believe that she was part of a total 12th grade conspiracy with her as co-ringleader with Chris. But Chris is dead.
BUT know. Chris is willing to pull the rope on whoever wins. They cook the ballots but there's a 3 way tie and at the last minute theres a tie breaker with names written in instead of boxes checked. Tommy asks Carrie if they should vote for themselves? Carrie answers '...pride cometh before the fall....' And casts a vote for themselves. They win by "1" vote.
So, Carrie hadnt gotten her period in gym. If Carrie had known what a period was. If The Cool girls had been nicer. If Chris had taken the punishment. If Sue and Chris hadnt broken up as friends. If Tommy hadnt agreed with Sue. If Carrie had died of her BRAIN HEMORRHAGE before the prom. (She gets an autopsy. Her powers were damaging her brain. ) If Carrie hadnt been quite so radiant and beautiful with almost everyone enjoying watching her come to life. If the rope had snagged (no really). If the bucket hadnt hit Tommy instantly killing him so he couldnt comfort Carrie. If someone hadnt let out a nervous laugh. If someone hadnt tripped her as she tried to run out. (No...really.) If her mother had landed the knife blow 3 inches to center. Sigh. Carries final act is to tug Sues barely acknowledged pregnancy lose and take away that tiny bit of Tommy that was left.
Ms. Desjardin reminded me of Ms. Honey from Matilda. I think we all need that sweet, but tough teacher who can stand up to evil people. I also really appreciate Sue here. She was incredibly kind, and showed an amazing amount of empathy to Carrie. Plus, she's super pretty!!
Yeah, you already knew that she did something supernatural so what makes you think resurrection isn't possible at that point and have her hunting you down too.
@@qunilliousbrown375 What did you not get?? Would you want to deface the grave of a person that did supernatural acts without worrying about being cursed?
Those who throw stones are the worst sinners, worse than the one they’re throwing it at.. ~ the New Testament Stone.. tampons same.. shows hypocrites because they’re females so they have it or will have it periods. Although periods aren’t “sins.” But they seems to confuse that scientific fact. 😂
The alternate ending is also actually more of a nod to the original Carrie film then the normal ending is (as I didn't even realize they made a remake lmao) In the original, Sue visits Carrie's old house, with the plot now being up for sale (and also looks like a grave. It even has "burns in Hell" graffiti.) When Sue places the flowers down, Carrie's hand shoots out of the ground & grabs her arm. It's revealed that she's having a nightmare, as her mother tries to calm her down & comfort her, but with her mother grabbing her arm the way she is, Sue can only see Carrie grabbing her, probably trying to drag her into hell with her. Kinda prefer the bleaker ending over the normal one, but I'm also biased as I got the privilege of my dad buying the original film when I got into horror films lmao
This is so unbelievable that a girl wouldn't know about menstruation just because her mom/parents didn't tell her. Her going to school would expose her from basic biology or connect the dots from passing social conversation.
@@midnightstudio9296 She may not have participated but she would have heard it in passing being in a public school. Consider what you overhear in public settings - who cheated, who is dating, what meds people take, what grade they got, who got fired, arguments etc. And the Bible definitely talks plenty about menstruation too, so the excuse of being in a religious sheltered background doesn't make sense either.
It’s not uncommon, especially depending on the school- there’s plenty of girls who don’t know what a period is and it’s due to their mothers not teaching them
This happened to me actually. My mom didn't told me what a period was or anything. Even though i saw her put pads on or buy pads. I even play with her pads before but didn't knew what it was for. And no one from my school usually talks about periods and shits. And girls at my school are like ashamed when they are on their period or when they get their period. Also, i wasn't sociable like other kids. Im just into myself. I was so innocent. That's why when i got my period i was totally in shock and franctic which btw my mom explained to me what was happening already. So not everyone knows.
I'm not sure how it is these days, but when I went to HS, parents had the option to remove their kids from sex ed. Pretty sure her mom would've chosen to keep Carrie away from anything she considered sinful.
I remember watching this! It was so fun to have watched Carrie get revenge but now that I rewatch it, I kinda feel bad for the kind people who helped her yet got injured by her :'(
I really wish more people knew about the original movie. I was really upset in middle school when everyone either said Carrie was an amazing musical or a stupid show, even though the original is a masterpiece

Every single person who tormented Carrie got off WAY too easy. ESPECIALLY her mother. Bullying and sadism is one thing I just can't handle. It fills me with murderous rage.
She isn't Carrie but my girlfriend grew up bullied, abused by her drugged up mom, abandoned by her dad, and mentally and physically abused by her ex. She always tells me she's glad she has me now cuz I'm one of the good things she's ever had. Carrie is one of my favorite stories since she reminds me of my girlfriend. I love Chloe Grace Moretz, but I just couldn't suspend my disbelief that she's a character that everyone at her school wouldn't be admiring and gushing over because of her beauty. If anything, they should have had her being bullied because the other students were jealous of her natural beauty to take a different spin on the story.
This comment is so dumb, cute people get bullied all the time. Also she was bullied because of how she acts and how she carried herself. Not her looks.
@@corimoon3360 I never said cute people don't get bullied. I even said it would be a great spin on the story if she were bullied because of her good looks. In the novel, Carrie White is described as being slightly unattractive, she is a "frog among swans". In appearance, Carrie is slightly overweight with pimples on her neck, back, and buttocks. She has blonde hair and very pale skin. My point was they took great liberties with the appearance of the character and it's hard to see Chloe Grace Moretz as an outcast. It would be like seeing Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a nerd but the film tries to play it straight.
The director said that Chris was jealous of Carrie, because she was naturally pretty while Chris had to wear pounds of makeup, dye her hair, and wear trashy outfits to get any semblance of attention. The more people are kind to Carrie and call out Chris, the angrier she gets.
I'll get the impression that Hollywood mocked Holy Mary by depicting a woman, who gave birth to a girl, yet she didn't even noticed her pregnancy and the girl turns out to be super natural.
Not for nothing, I totally disagree with how Carrie reacted. All of those innocent people at the prom did not need to die. Those who got burned or crushed in the bleachers. They didn't deserve it. They didn't really have anything to do with the harassment of the poor girl. Were they complicit? I don't think most of them were, most were completely unaware and they got killed over nothing. Even in a blind rage you still have some sense of who or what you are mad at and do take it out on other people unless they get in the way. In this sense, they didn't.
What's really disturbing is that if you read these comments there are literally hundreds of people who don't understand this movie is fictional and genuinely think that bullies deserve death.

@@desairio7330 righttt
We don't live in a better world, I stopped believing this recently. I'm 34 and guys make fun of me because they are frustrated, also happened while my mom was dying, and after that.
People talk bad about me in my neighborhood, I don't even know them, I was harassed and they could have just asked my name and stuff but noooo...rumors ruined me, that's what frustrated guys do, they spread rumors.
we do not
the fact that it makes me so happy and grateful bc you're a man defending women says it all
This is so satisfying when Carrie gets revenge because I use to get bullied a lot.
Something I’m sure most bullied victims wish they could do
@@silashurd3597 True!
Wow, so edgy. All of your 13 year old friends must think you're the coolest.
The alternative ending would be been good. To me it would've meant Carrie learned everything through death and saw that if Sue never had her boyfriend invite her to the prom..everyone would still be alive. Including herself and her mother...
Yeah but sue didn't do it to kill people
Also i think the mom was gonna kill her anyway
So,
Carrie hadnt gotten her period in gym.
Her powers were damaging her brain. )
If Carrie hadnt been quite so radiant and beautiful with almost everyone enjoying watching her come to life.
If the rope had snagged (no really).
If the bucket hadnt hit Tommy instantly killing him so he couldnt comfort Carrie.
If someone hadnt let out a nervous laugh.
If someone hadnt tripped her as she tried to run out. (No...really.)
If her mother had landed the knife blow 3 inches to center.
And folks, that's how Jean Grey was born!!!!
Omg that’s possible

And they still defaced her tombstone, if this happened at my prom THERES NO WAY IN HELL I’d go to her grave just to do that 😭

How does one get made fun of having periods
Exactly 🙌 most people are very compassionate when someone gets their period

@@countessofmontecristo3849 Woah! this is so unfortunate :(
The alternate ending is also actually more of a nod to the original Carrie film then the normal ending is (as I didn't even realize they made a remake lmao)
In the original, Sue visits Carrie's old house, with the plot now being up for sale (and also looks like a grave.
Becouse she didn't have Normal social conversations.
Moral of the story:
*Always remember to wear your seatbelt.*
Maybe if the teacher was her mom she wouldn't have gone on a killer rampage and murdered all of the students at the prom

This movie proves that simple kindness can change a persons whole world, y’all don’t realize what others are going through.
I loooveee love love how much detail and effort is put in these videos. You know right from the start that they are from great quality. Especially, when he mentioned the deleted scenes, it just shows how much research and thorough concept has gone into this. Amazing work!
Every single person who tormented Carrie got off WAY too easy. ESPECIALLY her mother. Bullying and sadism is one thing I just can't handle. It fills me with murderous rage.
LMAO calm down, edgelord.
I genuinely appreciate and love how fair the narrator is to all of the characters
But I see it as an alternative to where Carrie found someone who genuinely cares for her and loves her and will make sure she always smiles

Your narration is awesome. Feels like I am watching the movie.... Brilliant!
The transition between the recap and explanation/opinion is really confusing. I can't even remember how many times I rewind whenever I realize that you stopped recapping and giving out your opinions.
Yeah you have a point.
imagine making fun of someone for having a period.
Even while watching the old “Carrie”, she was a normal girl. Very nice. People are just mean.
side note it’s not unheard of for people to be pregnant and not know it until the baby pops out. very rare sure but it’s definitely happened
i love how story recapped is not just explaining the movies and but also explaining the characters actions and why they do it.
Nah it’s annoying asf
Not knowing you're pregnant doesn't necessarily means you're going through a rough patch. It's not that rare
I don’t care this is one of my favorite versions of Carrie next to the original.
