Saw it when it was released in Theatres, when I was SIX YEARS OLD. I was scarred by Murphy’s death scene… but the movie left an impact then that was JUST AS STRONG watching it again for the dozenth time last night. Absolute masterpiece.
When Peter demonstrated the head movement was gold
Wow. Paul Verhoeven created a masterpiece movie, Robocop.
Love the way his head turns and his body follows. So many memorable scenes in this movie. I had a friend who could do an amazing impression of Ed 209.
Peter weller was the perfect selection for robocop
One of the best movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 ever 🎉🎉🎉
The legend of robocop continues to this Day
Imagine having Peter, Kurtwood and Nancy at the same convention together.
The toxic waste scene is soooo memorable
This movie will always be the most memorable movie of the 80s peter Weller will always be remembered for this phenomenal movie 🎉
Surprised they never considered testing with the suit on before shooting.. Learnt the hard way.. but their perseverance paid off.. love Robocop
think the suit just wasn't ready in time
Because they kept coming up with different ideas, and as explained in the video Robotin was doing full sized models which took some time, so Weller worked with a previous iteration/idea of what was gonna be like than the thing that actually arrived on set.
I love this movie from Singapore. I simply strongly dislike all the overuse of digital imaging on these days...until I stop watching all any new movies once i know its majority is digitally made than using practical effects.
Hearing all the hours of hardwork on the suit, makeup and clay modelling....I admire this more than just a few click on the keyboard.
Christopher Crapland can only dream about creating a masterpiece like this movie is.
ICONIC
3:38 you can actually see this fact in part 1 and 2. When Robocop's hand is positioned in a certain way, the gloves seperate from the plastic part of the costume. It's not even attached to it.
Absolute science fiction masterpiece
This movie is great
“I’d buy that for a dollar!”
00:58 This is the problem with Ben Affleck's costume in Batman V Superman. Ben got huge as possible. So the padded muscles just made him look musclebound, like he couldn't move.
The thinner the actor, the easier it is to add onto their frame. That is why Doug Jones is perfect for costume, and creature work. He is thin, and a great mime.
It's so weird for me to hear Peter Weller's voice *without* the Robocop speech affect. It's just... Robocop with a faster speech processor.
梅非我非常喜歡你的電影係全世界第一名❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
梅非係一個好嘅警察❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Rob Bottin... he was born for this.
2:21 Robocop's look is based on manga! :D
The robot of the day the earth stood still is the base of it, drew inspiration from Judge Dredd (Robotin made a early full size model of it), and Verhoeven liken it to a male version of Maria from Metropolis, ultimately manga was used for the finishing touches of the suit.
I always noticed that this was never a star driven movie and perhaps that was a good thing because the head and body were disguised all you saw was the jawline
3:03 👍👍👍
👍
Talking about (de)hydration... what if he had to pee? 😅
Ol Peter Weller, he’s a very talented guy. But man, he takes himself very seriously doesn’t he? 😅
Don't you mean Alex Murphy/Robo?
@@Ometecuhtli that’s what I said. 😅
Not really different than Robert Dinero because he always took it seriously himself it's called Method Acting
It took about 9hrs to put on the suit.
At first, yes. They got it down significantly from there.
10 hours....11 hours....lol. Liked how the time kept growing,
Man who's in charge of filming schedule: It took us 11 hours!
The man suffering putting on the suit: It was 10 hours!
The man who created the suit: It was just a couple hours.
The actors guild: Took them 2 days!
A cult classic. But I feel the other actors / director/ writers etc wanted to say weller was a dickhead on set. Your an actor so act suit/or no suit, that's the job. Great movie all the same tho.
yes this was dangerous, because in case of and emergency they couldn't take the suit off that quick, for example a heart attack or a heat stroke.
If he was at that much risk they'd cut him out of it.
"Your move Creep!"
Judge Dredd. 😉
They only slightly hint at the fact it was a complete DREDD rip off.
They didn't even have th balls to own up to it.
Although in interviews from the 80s they did.
I love RoboCop but should have acknowledged it's strong influence. Disappointing they didn't.
Back when you could be a male actor and not be "forced" to kiss another man.
Do you like seek out movies with scenes like that? Because I feel confident most people don't come across that sort of thing in movies on a regular basis to say the least.
The first one was great but after that All the other ones sucked like part 3
