I spent many happy hours listening to Seamus Ennis’s recordings when I was growing up, so when I took up the Uilleannpipes 25 years ago, I shaped my own piping-style after his.
Leo Rowsome, Willie Clancy, Tommy Reck, Paddy Moloney, Paddy Keenan and Liam O’Flynn also had an influence on my playing.
I believe, this was recorded in 1980, 2 years before he passed away. However, he remained the master till the end.
    Rest in peace, Seamus.

A great musician and his work in collecting music and songs were tremendous. Thanks for your comment John and keep an eye out for the programmes this weekend on TG4

Indeed, that's one of the reasons I love old ITM recordings, full of blood and guts, grit, and excitement
