Really appreciate this one, especially the encouragement at the end. After hitting player rank 60 or so, reluctant to burden a group on a deep dive, I tried it solo on my driller and managed pretty easily. I think I've only tried a haz4 once, but I'm now around char rank 80, and appreciate the nudge to try out the harder difficulties, even as you said, to try and get the first phase for that blank core. Cheers, Ron!
Push on to haz 4 and 5, it does seem impossible but the challenge imposed and the build crafting involved is the best part of the game imo. Once you adjust even Haz 4 will seem easy
If you can do Haz 4, then you can regularly do Haz 5. That's the lesson I learned around 80 and I play anywhere from 3-5 interchangeably depending on my mood, even though I prefer Haz 4. The people that talk shit in Haz 3 literally can't survive in that environment and the randoms are infinitely more chill and accepting.
@@JimJamTheAdmin Haz 5 can be a nightmare or a fun fairly challenging event. It all depends on how many special mobs the game graces you with today Fore example septic spreaders like to spawn in 4 or 5 at time sometimes and the game likes making more of them as soon as you kill one. Couple that with the fact that you have to deal with the horde at your back and they become a nightmare I tried Lithophage outbreaks haz 5 and could not stop getting special mobs while trying to clear the contagion with the foamer here is a list Septic spreaders Stingtails Menaces Brood Nexus's mostly 2 at a time Tri-Jaws pretty often snuck up behind me and dealt a lot of health damage when I was already weak The occasional cave leech while calling the cleaning equipment My strategy pretty much became to rush the contagion spikes because gathering enough Nitra was 50/50 before you encounter them and you do not want to run out of ammo during a contagion spike Often times while you are foaming the contagion you will get endless waves of rockpox enemies that rush you down which will result in you getting hit for a majority of your health if you are not able to hear the small amount of noise they make because your rockpox meter is probably nearly full. These enemies often have ranged attacks that make this way harder because they spawn and smack you immediately with pox. Bosco's main priority is set to attack enemies he doesn't even know how to damage he needs an Ai upgrade that trivializes rockpox enemies or lets him be even remotely effective because he usually hits a pox on glyphids maybe once every blue moon.
I have a good technique, it's called : get carried by players with 15x more playtime than you while you die every 5 minute ! At least that's how I did my first one !
Any class can solo EDD but I would definitely recommend gunner for beginners as his shield will save your life and allow you to hold objectives, plus flame grenades are sooo good at clearing waves. I’m an engineer main but some EDD’s have been much easier with gunner. It depends on the missions though as scout is great for point extraction but has a harder time with holding points. Great vid Ron!
A couple helpful solo escort tips for people surfing the comments: -You can ping Doretta and Bosco will patrol around her and attack anything that comes close until you issue him another command. Useful for making sure she doesn't die to things like exploders while you're fueling up. -If the beams in the last phase of the core DO start to overwhelm the drill, you can also ping the crystals and Bosco will mine them out for you. With the added mining speed perk on Bosco he can really chew through them quickly. -Most importantly, Bosco can even carry Dotty's head back to the pod for you!
Got this for free for ps5 and finally got a promotion to play the deep dives. Got kicked 3 times in a row, so I think I’ll use this guide to solo it. Thanks big guy!
Ok thank god you rescued dotty to be honest it’s a necessary to save dotty not only do we not leave NO DWARF BEHIND but that also implies the robots dotty is a dwarf at heart always rescue dotty ROCK AND STONE BROTHERS NO DWARF LEFT BEHIND
- melee vs oppressors - pickaxe-ing exploders in the head, they wont explode wow, i never knew that :O , thanks! I never played Elite Deep Dives and i think i imght try it solo ~

Its really not that hard. A normal deep dive is just 3 short missions.

here is a list
Septic spreaders
Stingtails
Menaces
Brood Nexus's mostly 2 at a time
Tri-Jaws pretty often snuck up behind me and dealt a lot of health damage when I was already weak
The occasional cave leech while calling the cleaning equipment
My strategy pretty much became to rush the contagion spikes because gathering enough Nitra was 50/50 before you encounter them

You’re the most consistent and helpful channel on YT for Deep Rock. Your efforts are appreciated!
I appreciate that!

That works too! Also cool username.
My drop pod has landed on a nemesis before but never a hoarder.

Thank you very much Leon!
Thanks Ron , I just completed my first EDD ! The exploders were really scary on stage 2 .
Awesome John! Great to hear!

Man I've got 2 of my buddies on deep rock now and I'm so ready to give the elite deep dives a try.
Awesome, hope that it goes well for you guys!
Great video! I love when you explain what you do and why you pick there weapon mods and configurations. Keep up the great work! Definitely a big fan!
Thanks, glad that you like the video!

I like gunner most for solo because he got big gunn.
what a great video ron! keep it up!

I’m surprised you don’t use the quick deposit technique
I usually forget about it until after depositing.
On controller you can get Bosco to throw things to you by taping or mashing LB the Ping Tool button
One of these for Engineer would be awesome.
I have one of this that I released I think 2 weeks ago.
@@ReapeeRon Nice! thanks.
Haha Critical Weakness is useful no matter what mission it is 😆
Very true!
- melee vs oppressors
- pickaxe-ing exploders in the head, they wont explode

No problem! Hope that your attempt goes well!
Tbh the head is kinda hard to hit with a pickaxe, i usually just use guns with high ammo counts to hit the heads, or just exploded them.
