You can tell Dave's insecurities were keeping him up that night, making him repeat "DID I give that pizza place a fair shot by just doing the casino branch vs. the main branch?", and finally he gets up after staring at the ceiling all night and says "fuck it, we'll just go so nobody can say I didn't give these people a fair shake", and that's clip #2.

As a pizza guy who grew up in columbus ohio and has seen just about every pizza review on this channel, the columbus spots Dave visits makes me die a little bit inside. I can only assume other columbus people are recommending these places which makes it even worse. There is a book called Columbus Pizza: A Slice of History by Jim Ellison that describes the underrated rich and flavorful history central ohio pizza has. Thin crust cut in squares. None of these jabroni joints are worth any attention. Visit places like massey’s, bexley pizza plus, rubino’s, ange’s pizza (any location), Joes on east broad, or even donatos!!! These frat bro drunk slice joints like adriatico’s, hounddogs, and this spot do not represent columbus pizza and we do not claim them. After this review i can only assume now that these choices are intentionally meant to slander columbus because dave hates ohio state.
Lived in Columbus my entire life, Mikey’s is as Dave said - drunk pizza. You get it at 2 in the morning when you’re hammered and can’t make it to a 24 hour McDonald’s. It’s no one’s first choice for day time pizza.
Mikey's Late Slice downtown (457 N. High) is definitely different than that pizza. Mikey's Late night downtown location is closer to a Columbus version of Joe's Original on Carmine St. in Greenwich Village. Similar taste cheese and pepperoni but slightly softer crust.
Wow, I agreed with Dave in both spots. First location was a classic 6.1 drunk pie, kind of a soft, doughy blob, this one looked like a different pie but still not great. For a 1 am dorm room pie, I'd kind of prefer the 6.1 in a strange way because that "chewiness" is strangely satisfying when you're drunk. The second one, while technically "better", is in kind of a no man's land for pizza, it's not one thing or another.
first pie was a mid 5's pie at best......"super doughy" has gotta be the worst adjective's that Dave could ever give a pie. 6.5 on the second was probably fair, but the fact that you have to wait forever to get a basically sub average slice would make it a 6.1 tops.
