I saw a Matrtin Mariner at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson today. Very impressive bird. Also the Tail section and aft Turret [w/ 2 x .50 Cal BMGs] from the Seattle Lake wreck are 20' from it.
Dad flew pbm in South Pacific ..kinda sad you bounced all around the south Pacific but good shots ..should send ya his photo album ..he did long range recon .credited one japanese.sub..shot.down In Philippines ..300.miles. behind enemy lines ...and did alot.of night.bombings basicslly.first.stealth bombers..fly under 100 foot off deck for hundreds of miles...sink huge amounts.of ships and.did long range recon is main reason not much was known ..all classified ..while pby was recruiters poster child..tropical beaches sea planes...lol had a better pr guy ..hunt his records they im declassified section ..lol but enjoyed it
