That map at the end says a lot. It looks like the guys who do even the easy stuff on ADV bikes are playing on extreme difficulty mode. Really puts some perspective on long distance trips through foreign countries.
I like your style on these videos, no music, bike to bike communication and first person narrative. You really get a sense of what LAB2V is like. Don't make them shorter either, I was really drawn to following your adventure. Great job!
@@BFasts52 I sold my exc 450 shortly after I started walking again. I was using my klr to commute from Disneyland and when I was exciting the highway, my front tire went flat and got into some tank slappers and lost control. The bike got totalled. I'm just riding my road glide for now. Maybe in a few years I'll get back into DS. I'm the breadwinner so I can't afford any more injuries.
Another excellent capture. I'm the 1190 adventure bike parked at the bottom around the 25 minute mark. I climbed back up and rode the 1090 down for the guy you were talking to. The Africa Twin ran into the back of him and the AT lost his right peg. On day 2, last year I did the hardway on my 500 and took pride in doing the section before Red Rocks that you said 90% of the people skip.
J N ROBERTS WAS THE KING OF BARSTOW TO VEGAS. Still remember lining up with him at a desert race. They dropped the banner and I was riding my ass off, bouncing off everything determined to keep up with him. When we passed the smoke bomb and the dust cleared there was J N across the flat and going over a hill. Must have been a quarter mile ahead of me.
Been waiting for this my grandpa found the 2016 lab2v and ive been following your channel since. Just showed him that this came out and we put it on the big screen and watched the whole thing. Funny great content. Didnt get out this year but i live 10 min from palmd supercycles and have road all these trails many times very familiar with cal city/ red mountain/ spangler. Thanks for the memories
Thank You for the awesome video! It was a very fun watch, and the comments really make it. You guys cracked me up at times. Can't wait until next years video. I just wish it was longer. Thank You!
There is always one f@$Ktard who can’t send the right parts out to save their lives. Glad you still stuck through it though and made it work. Great vid man
Excellent video! Loved the commentary throughout. That silty bottom towards the end of day 2 with little to no markers gave us fits as well. You given me some ideas on how to make my videos better. Keep up the great work!
This is a great ride and great video. Thanks for sharing I had never heard about this ride until I found your video. Is always the day after Thanksgiving?
Great video! Very immersive and watchable through to the end. I'm hoping to get some friends commited to doing LAB2V this year or next after having watched your vids. Thanks!
Dude I just found your channel about a week ago, and just finished the last lab2v! I’d love to take my xr400 up there some year. Keep riding man and be safe!
Hi: I am not familiar with roll-charts. However, after reading about it, do you think I can adapt a roll-chart for mountain biking LAB2V? I want to mountain bike from Barstow to Vegas and I don't have a good route. Do you think I can learn roll-charting and use roll charts in mountain biking from B to Vegas? Thx.
I’ve done the LAB2V 4 times. One of the worst part is the roll chart. It’s mandatory. I have it mounted on my bike but I never use it. It’s just a backup in case your gps fails. I’ve done it with no gps and not using the roll chart. There are ribbons everywhere and if you get lost, you can usually follow a dust cloud or pack of riders. I’d recommend a good gps it gps app and a paper map as a back up. Best of luck in the desert!
I think you said you have a Rekluse and were wanting to do a pivot turn near red rock...the best way to pivot turn with a rekluse is to put it in 2nd gear on my 500, push down and pull up the direction you want to go while grabbing a little throttle. Very simple with the rekluse! Also - check outt he MAKO 360 for fatigue by XC Gear. Helps with bike vibration and dampening in 360 degrees.
Hey Lowly! Love your page, Im doing LABAR2LV for my first time this year. Was wondering what GPS you're running. THanks in advance! see you in a few weeks.
It's still on my bike. It kind of turned into a permanent fix. I really do need to order a spare set of radiators so when it finally does fail I'll have them on hand.

Man that was awesome to watch great video
Great video, communication was great the whole time. G.ad I found your video, thumbs up.
Yes! The long awaited LAB2V video! Living vicariously through you my man! Broke my leg really bad last year and sold my bike. I miss it so bad.
How's your leg recovering brother? Is it preventing you from riding?

Next LAB2V video to be longer, got it! :)
Thanks for posting this video. I have looked forward to this since the ride!
Those heavy dirt bikes? Especially with not great desert tires? Not enough speed thru the sand? Not leaning back just a tad? Whhooo! Trouble!
Congrats guys!! Always entertaining.
Best I could tell my buddy and I were anywhere between 1.5-2.5 hrs ahead of you guys. Hard way all the way 👍👍
You two-way radio works great. What brand and model?
This was rad. Thank you.
Man, I wish I wasn't watching this on the shitter at work! I like it but that's a long one!
Excellent video, this is the way it's done...or should be!
Do u use the voice activated talking or the handle bar push button to talk?
There is always one f@$Ktard who can’t send the right parts out to save their lives. Glad you still stuck through it though and made it work. Great vid man
Stay safe and best of luck out there the next couple of days. Conditions look nasty for 2019.
Dude your a animal. Can't believe you made it all the way. Nice job
Well done man!! Great riding also editing; thanks for sharing...

Those adventure bikes needed to be going about twice as fast
Great video! Very immersive and watchable through to the end. I'm hoping to get some friends commited to doing LAB2V this year or next after having watched your vids. Thanks!
Great edits and filming man.. I enjoyed the whole thing.. I laughed pretty good when you yelled to that guy.... Get a Moose !!!....haha
Great video. Riding this for the first time coming up. What communication are you rolling with?
Loved the Vid... My buddy and I did it this year again...I came out a few times in your old vids...
Great video! Even though the camera doesn't do it justice that looked hard as hell!

It looks like I have a new bucket list adventure? how much did this cost to do

So when’s the 2019 video coming out?
This is Rider1 who sold you the indestructible 250 :)
Thanks!
Soon :)
Can’t wait as I’m sure a lot of others :)
Killer ride, dudes! I recently joined the AMA. Hoping to tackle this year's event🤘🏼
Great flick bro! I just did the 2019 lab2v
Welp, need to put this on my calendar
Looks super fun!!!!!
That cloud should be on a LA-B-2-V t-shirt!
The comms sounded great. What are you using?
Hey Lowly! Love your page, Im doing LABAR2LV for my first time this year. Was wondering what GPS you're running. THanks in advance! see you in a few weeks.
Thanks for the video. Makes me want to do it. Side note----would have been better without all the F-Bombs---Not Grandchild friendly
Awesome video! I'm thinking of doing it this year. How did you get your bikes back to Barstow where you left your truck?
Great video! What was your comm setup? What radio and how were the mic and push to talk connected?
Love the video. Curious about what your setup was. Bikes, mods, gear, that kind of thing. Y’all seem pretty lightweight which is more my style
yeah those Flexx bars sure help
what comms/headset/radio setup are you using? Thanks very much
What's your barkbuster/mirror set up?
Walter Mitty Highway Dirtbikes. The best ones you can buy IMHO.
How did the J B Weld repair hold up?
It's still on my bike. It kind of turned into a permanent fix. I really do need to order a spare set of radiators so when it finally does fail I'll have them on hand.
Someday I'll be there.
What type of radio are you using for communication?
RH5R / UV5R with Rugged Radio helmet kits.
@@lowlypawn Just watched your new video on how you set them up. Thanks for providing informative content that is also entertaining.
What kind of gps do you use
What channel do you run
Nice!
