  • Following Germany's defeat, it lost its territory east of the Oder-Neisse Line. Large swaths of formerly German's area were ceded to Poland.
Today, there are 4 pairs of divided towns along the German-Polish border, whereas the western part of the town is in Germany, while the eastern section is in Poland.
Görlitz and Zgorzelec make up one such pair. Prior to 1945, it was one town.
Let's take a journey to this border town.
