David Suzuki educated the nation. He brought environmentalism into our homes, & woke us up to the marvels of this particular corner of the planet we inhabit. This grateful Canadian says THANK YOU!
I thank the CBC and David Suzuki! I was surprised to learn a few years back that he wasn't the 1st host of the show. But obviously he was the best + always will be.
From one elderly environmentalist to another: Thank you! And have a wonderful time. It's been great watching what you bring to us, and i look forward to what Anthony and Sarika will be doing.
Now that was really funny 😊 Thank you for your wonderful work that we could learn from, and enjoy it of course. Hope you can live easy and healthy maaany more year's Mr.Suzuki. It was a pleasure to see you.
Happy New Year David, you are truly a Canadian treasure. Thank you for all the all your work and educatioing us all on our precious planet .. Best of health in 2025..
From St-Jérôme north of Montreal. I have been a fan since for ever! You’re voice, knowledge, passion always been addictive! I sure and many of us will miss your charming and bright presence. Thanks to your daughter and new acolyte. To take the “flambeau” Sir . Enjoy your time “off” with your family at home and around of course. Merci! ☺️
David Suzuki you have been a role model and icon to me since I was a child. Now as a restoration ecologist, I am trying to follow in your footsteps, but I'll never be as cool as you. We love you David 🥰
Right on David Suzuki you deserve a rest thank you for everything you did for mother nature and the legacy to your beautiful daughter and so many people.❤
Thank you for your passionate concern for our country, our world. You are a national treasure. A strong, feisty protector. A real character with humour. So glad to see that you will be enjoying retirement. The world is better because of you. Thank you!
David Suzuki and the Nature of Things has always been such a huge part of my life….fond memories in childhood watching his shows and learning about this magnificent planet. He’s the reason I love nature photography and conservation. Amazing human ☺️
I grew up watching you on TV (I'm 43 this year) and have met you briefly a couple times on your travels through the Okanagan in BC. Going to miss your positive and informative outlook on the world and nature. Happy retirement David!!!
Well deserved, sir! I remember watching when I was a child in the late 80s and early 90s with my mom. My sister deidre shared a canoe trip with him once in the late 90s in Vancouver that was a field trip for native american children. I wasn't able to attend as I was in a long house in mission bc on my own native american field trip. School District 49 had this special class for us natives and that's how she got to meet Sir David Suzuki
I grew up in a science family watching your show. Eventually got into environmental education and I wanted your job! Had a chance to meet you a several teacher conventions in Alberta and I will always remember your passion for the cause. Somehow I doubt you'll be spending much time soaking in a bath tub unless its chained to a tree! All the best as you move to a new stage in your life, and all the best to Anthony and Sarika! Look forward to seeing you in the new year!
I grew up watching this show. I learned a lot and I found him compassionate. I have met people who absolutely cannot stand this man and I fail to understand why.
Wishing you all the best in your retirement. You very much deserve it. However, I know you will always be an activist. I've learned so much from you. So happy to see the younger, passionate people stepping up.
Congratulations on a well deserved retirement, you're wonderful and you'll be missed, unless you record life from a retiree's point of view 😉. Glad the show will continue and the new hosts look ready and interesting :) Thank you all.
Congratulations David!! Enjoy, my grandmother introduced me to you at the young age of 9 when you first started. I learned a lot. Live long and prosper and most of all, have fun!!
Thanks Mr. Suzuki! I've been with you since the start. You've done a great job. For the show, I would suggest a return to the original format of being on camera and on-site, instead of a "celebrity voice over". The show lost the magic it had in the 80s. After 40 years of viewing, I consider the gold standard of science journalism today to be Anton Petrov's work. He's not on-site, but always on camera and explains things with the same clarity and enthusiasm that David had in the 80s. I'd give him a periodic segment on the show.
😘Dear Doc Suzuki..... I first got acquainted with you in the flesh, at one of my teacher conventions, many, many decades ago.. I cannot believe I'm saying decades, for Pete's sake. At any rate, I wish you well for another decade or so.. you deserve a happy and 'productive' retirement. Thank you for all your inspirational programs and lectures..
Thank you so much for inspiring and educating so many people about important issues and about science in general. The Nature of Things has always been my favourite show. I am looking forward to seeing more episodes in the future. Enjoy your much deserved retirement, we will miss seeing you but we know that you will continue to influence Environmental Education!
Love this man growing up since I was a child! Thank you Mr. Suzuki for all the knowledge you have shared and have learned from you all these years of my life! ✌️♥️🙇🥂😁
That was really well done. Glad to learn the show will continue! I've watched the Nature of Things for more years than I'd like to admit! I should be retiring too!
I once enjoyed the company of Dr David Suzuki at a party in McMaster University, Hamilton, during the early 1980’s. I was an undergrad then, and I still remember his celebration of life. He is a beautiful person.
Bless you and thank you for your body of work. Safe, fulfilling retirement to you. Please let us know where we can find your "Micro World" Special. I watched this with my young daughter decades ago but where to find it today?
David is 88 this year. He's earned many lifetimes of achievements and continues to inspire and educate to this day, which is a monumental feat in and of itself. I still recall seeing that picture of his young daughter that's plastered all over the web of her giving her speech. It's crazy to think that was over 30 years ago. The Suzuki family impact is not a light nor insignificant. Glad to see another generation will take up the torch and continue the legacy. Enjoy your retirement, sir.
As a Canadian I am very proud to see the Nature of Things continue!
David Suzuki educated the nation. He brought environmentalism into our homes, & woke us up to the marvels of this particular corner of the planet we inhabit. This grateful Canadian says THANK YOU!
