I love this game and play it all the time. I liked this video too. I remember being so disappointed when Skyrim came out, no attributes or major skills. They dumbed it down.
Go to the Arena in the Imperial City and bet on a match. Save the game before entering the door to the right. If you lose, just reload the save until you win, and then collect your reward. You can do this as many times as you want to make unlimited money.
Despite the idiotic scaling this is my favorite elder scrolls. I just love the attributes and being able to specialize/min max a character and the amount of customization with the class system
There is something nobody talks about, the best way to deal with the game flaw of scaling is stop leveling at 30. Just dont sleep. If you have to do some mission who requires sleeping just quicksave and then sleep 1 hour and quickly cancel. Then somethimes it triggers the mission and you skip levelup and stay at 30. At Level 30 the time to kill is acceptable with mid to endgame gear. Since i play on PC i made a custom png file to replace the levelup icon so it never appear on the hud. Oblivion - Data - Textures - menus - icons - icon_level_up.dds its just a transparent image.

And you dont need silly weak element complex enchants on weapons in endgame. In level 30 the game is very well balanced. At Level 30 i try to aim on certain healthpool numbers depending of class: Warriors close to 500 HP, Knights 450HP, Ranger 350HP, Hunter/Thief/Assasin 250HP, Mage 200HP, Necromancer try to cripple the healthpool by any means to be close to 100HP with necromancer amulet went from around 200 to 150. All that healthpool talking requires some math and planning but you can have control of how much health you can have. Certain races make it harder to build but its still possible. Careful with Alchemy gold farming if it's one of your major skill tho. My 1st ever Oblivion playthrough I was lv 17 before even started stepping foot outside imperial city. With lv100 alchemy and literally no combat skill, the enemies was impossible and I had to turn the difficulty down to 0% to progress.
I’m late as hell, but I did something similar but the way I balanced it is I would go to the area and jump on top the pillar and use low level spells at max difficulty to level up combat skills
I raid the same 6 camps every few days because the characters are now carrying Ebony/Glass/Deadric, I sell everything to the dark elf in the Merchants Inn in the imperial city market district he has about 2000 gold buy limit. imperial city Arena every week for some big money too
This is the most useful guide so far I could find. I wanted a legit way to find myself with lots of gold and this guide helped me with that. For a noob at the game, what is the "best" race. I know these games do not have the best races, but if it did exist one... which one would it be?

At the end of it he asks for you to kill them all but in total before the final quest it gives you about 700 gold. I haven’t finished it but if you wait the head guard will ask you to turn him in

Complete the recommendation - Get Ring of Burden (this will be used later) Step 2. Go to Fort Farragut. Do not enter through the main entrance. Enter back door through Hollow Tree. Step 3. Once you've entered, open the "Very Hard Lock" Barrel. Save before attempting this. Step 4. Grab all the Poison Apples. There will be 10. Step 5. Run down the hall and grab the "Iron Battleaxe" off the Skeleton. Step 6. Leave through the Ladder Exit, Equip Ring of Burden and Iron Battleaxe. Step 7. Crouch, and then Fast Travel to Anvil. Afterwards Fast Travel Back. This is a lot faster than waiting for 3 days for the Barrel to Respawn the Poison Apples. Step 8. Rinse and Repeat. Grab as many Apples as you'd like. Then cast a charm spell on an NPC for High Disposition. These apples can sell for up to 400 Each if you have the right disposition. It's a lengthy process, however it becomes very fast once you practice it. It'll produce far more gold than anything seen in this video.
I made a lot of money selling everything. Once i (or my conjured creature)killed everyone in a dungeon, no corpes were left with wepons or armor....I took everything! That Lich can just about kill anything, I watched him kill 4 vampires!
Also you can launder stolen ingredients by turning them into potions which are then saleable to any merchant and won't be confiscated if you're arrested
Mages guild is easy to join??? I'm currently doing it and no its not easy at least for a beginner. Played the hell out of skyrim and wanted to play Oblivion after years of not trying Oblivion. Its dated as hell but the game is fun. Has WAY better cities than Skyrim. Idk how they went backwards on that.

Surprised to see a video for this game made in 2020😂 but I've just started my journey in this game, being about 30 hours in. So this was useful.
I bought the game years ago and stopped playing a long time ago. I've started it again and glad I did.

Having “conversations” with Dorian in the Imperial City is my favorite way of earning gold. He’s such a generous guy (when he can be!)

A tip : you can watch movies at Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies these days.

You can be nord,or orc because they attack bonus if i remember correctly,but if you want more like beauty character then just pick nord

If gold is what you want then imperials have a passive ability where they just find more gold in containers but yeah I usually go Nord

If you're already in Skiingrad then you can get a few hundred gold from the paranoia quest, as long as you're fine with a bit of crime.
Is that the one where they lock you in the mansion? I loved that quest
