I had w164 facelift 3.5 petrol, absolutely bulletproof. Now I have w163 body on frame first gen and w166 2012. All of them are absolutely beasts but w163 is a body on frame beast with low range for off-road
Hi Bruno....Do you know what grease is used in the inner and outer CV joints on the front half axles? I have tried to establish this with MB in SA to no avail. Also nothing in WIS or on internet....W164 ML320 2008....with off road pack (430 on data sheet)....Where to find this info on the grease? The CV boot small clamp came off and flung some grease (green to blue in colour) and I wish to repack it with the same grease. The fact that it is green to blue leads me to believe it is not lithium base with moly and or graphite since then is is likely black in colour....Don't want grease compatibility issues and MB don't sell the grease and the small pack in a CV boot kit has no part label?
Good question but if it's colored should be in the ballpark of what mercedes uses in the front bearings on the cars without 4 Matic. But I don't know either. I would say can't go wrong with normal CV joint grease
