This video makes a casual fan think Rafa is in the same ballpark as Novak. But Weeks (weeks/consecutive) at #1, Year-End #1, The fact RAfa is bagel for ATP Finals, + more. Its not close.
He is also a great person, human being. He donated and helped so much. He has now received 200,000 euros from the Serbian government for the gold medal, and he has donated the entire sum for humanitarian purposes.
I'm not biased toward any of these three great players. My favorite tennis player of all time is Andre Agassi. That said, the conversation about who is the GOAT ended for me years ago. People who still doubt Djokovic's greatness are either delusional or just trolling. We need to appreciate what we are witnessing: Novak Djokovic is simply the greatest tennis player ever.
A-GA-SSI A-GA-SSI! He was really great, and perhaps kinda underrated among the youngins' nowadays. I used to think of Djokovic as an improved version of Agassi, although that's not a perfect analogy by any means. Anyway, nicely said.
Agassi and Sampras really got me into watching tennis. Then Fed was the greatest, with Nadal providing a good challenge and owned clay, until 2011…then Novak ascended with one of the greatest runs of domination over the better part of a decade.
I am from Serbia, and Agassi is my favourite player also. People today think that Federer was the most loved player by the tennis crowd, but Agassi was loved even more, wherever and whenever he played, everyone cheered for him.

Novak ia the only mens tennis player since tennis came back to olympics in 1988 to win without losing a set and also to win after 37 years old! Beat nadal musetti and Alcaraz three of the best clay court players out there! Incredible🐐
Your show is as professional as it gets. TV Network worthy. Its perfect. BTW I think Ivanisevic is largely credited for improving Djokovic's serve and that's a big deal.

I have the highest respect for Matt, I remember when I first started watching him and he was definitely a Roger fan, but always did give Nole his respect. This man is a true tennis fan and one that understands how history will look at the Big 3! Bravo Matt always a pleasure to watch your content!
Nadal won the Australian Open in 2022 when Novak was deported. And Novak was locked out of many countries during Covid. Then Novak won Wimbledon earning no points, due to the LTA being punished for discriminating the Russians. Novak was also DQ'd at US open when favorite to win it, the line judge hit by a stray ball was faking death spasms there. All the matches Novak played against Federer or Nadal he played in hostile audience. Djokovic ended the 2011 with an impressive 10-1 record against Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, beating prime Nadal in six finals during that season. That' s when the domination started.

Djokovic Tennis story is movie happening in reality. Through hardships with his health early in the career, to breaking Fedal, to best year in Tennis history, to heartbreak 1st round defeat in the olympics, to heartbreaking injury, just to come back and win every masters at least 2 times, every slam at least 3 times, get every big record in the sport. And the cherry on top, winning olympic gold at 37 against a young superstar in thrilling final....
@@dominickrobinson332in 2017 and half of 2018 he was injured so if you say that that year wasnt competitive you wqnt to say that Nadal and Federer were weak players and were sharing 6 slams only because Novak was not there . In 18 and 19 you had very strong Domunic Thiem he is so underated player but was kiling those years and in 19 you have that Wimbledon, so not so weak for Novak.
The Wikipedia page of Djokovic´s records is now 23 pages long.... Guys, do you get it? I would need a complete day to only read and grasp the difficulty of all his records!!! It´s hard to understand the effort and dedication he put into it. It´s simply stunning. And I would not be surprised at all if one day, after he retires, he might be declared the best ever sportsman.
@@stevehoran5595 Haven't you seen hundreds of young athletes dropping like flies after a poisonous needle? How do you know Novak wouldn't fall dead? So he wasn't stupid, but he acted very wisely and everyone knows that, but most superficial minds trivialize the potential possibility that he could be dead today.
@stevehoran5595 For many of us, that act is the most important and is the biggest achievement of any sports person. 🎉 🤴 He could easily fake it, but he showed to the world there is hope for humanity. 🏆
The funny thing is that counting the Olympics as a "big title" only started because of Fedal fans who wanted Rafa to have something that Nole didn't, but now it's backfired because Roger doesn't have one and Novak does.
Djokovic was already the GOAT after he beat Rafa at 21 RG and won the double career slam. Getting the gold medal is all icing on the cake. Now for #5 at USO and #8 at Wimbledon (and in the process getting 25+ slams so we can stop yapping about Court).
If u check generation by 5y gap and u started Zverev, Tsitsipas , Medvedev 2016 , than previous generation would be from 2010-2015, and u say in that generation Djokovic won only one major which complete nonsense because he dominated that era heavily in every aspect. Only era that Fed and Nadal was dominating over him was from 2005-2010. And in those years Djokovic was 18-23y of age . So from 23-33 y of age he completely dominated world tennis and he continues to do so .
He played like he was 25 against Alcaraz. I know people age faster when they get into their late 30's, but if he continues to take good care of his body like he has been, and he doesn't get injured, there is absolutely no reason why he can't play the next Olympics.
I'm in my early 40s and feel better, fitter and more mentally alert than ever. No effects of ageing other than my hair fell out. Djokovic is 37 and still has 2 or 3 more years at the top so that's 8-12 grand slams he can win. After 40 his level will drop rapidly, but he can play till 45 if he wants to. It's his choice if he wants to win or lose in the second or third round of grand slams or play in ATP 250s or 500s. He has absolutely nothing to lose or prove. It's all plain sailing from here on
I am just a casual tennis viewer so I have no skin in the game and like all tennis greats, old and new but no one will ever achieve what Novak did in his tennis career, in my opinion. And many of his records may be unbeatable like being the oldest Olympic gold medalist in tennis. He also has an Olympic bronze to boot.
Federer fans should be really quiet when it comes to weak era agruments ect. I mean federer beat in *7 season from* 2004-2010 nadal only *7 times*. And Novak GOATkovic beat prime nadal in *10 months 7 times* from indian wells 2011 until Australian open 2012. SO who beat federer actually in that 7 years, novak was not in his prime. BUT federer said in a 2015 interview that reseaRched selfe " Federer 2015 i am playing now better tennis then with 24" I mean eveen this statistic is actually enough, but there are many more from Djoker
Novak also demolished another generation : Dimitov, Raonic, Nishikori and Thiem. These guys were supposed to be the heirs, all of them gone befor Novak !!!
I love that the strongest argument they have now to discredit Djokovic's achievements is to talk about a "weak era" but in seconds they fall to pieces when you realize that Novak has been dominating 3 complete generations (from 2011 to 2024, 13 years in a row!) To discredit that would be to say that everything that Nadal and Federer won from 2011 onwards has no value. Obviously they only argue that because since 2011 Nole has started to win everything.😅
Excellent point. And also, some of those fans take it even further and make the excuses that Federer, and even Nadal, weren't in their primes anymore when Djokovic starting dominating. Yes, they had a few injuries to deal with off-on-on, but you cannot say with a straight face that Nadal was 'past his prime' in 2011 at age 24-25, or that Federer was completely past his prime at 30-31. Some Fed fans even claim that his prime ended somewhere around 2007-09, when he was only 25-28! Then there's the other side of the argument, where it could be argued that the pre-prime Nadal/Djokovic years when Federer won most of his slams, up thru 2007 when Djokovic was 20 and Nadal 21, could be considered a 'weak era' as well. I mean, in just discussing the Big 3 alone, up thru 2007 - incl Federer's most successful period of slams from 2004-07, in Federer's 1st 34 slams played, he only faced Djokovic or Nadal a total of 7 times, going 2-3 vs an 19-21 yr old Nadal and going 2-0 vs a 19-20 yr old Djokovic. That means that during Federer's most dominant period of his 1st 12 slams won thru 2007, he only faced Djokovic/Nadal 4 times, and those were pre-prime 19-20 yr old Djokovic and pre-to-early-prime 20-21 yr old Nadal.
EVEN djokovic second era from 2018-2021 was stronger then federer era from 2004-2007. Federer and nadal from 2018-2021 were defently better as opponent , then djokovic and nadal from 2004-2007.
There is a discussion about the GOAT, bro. But it is not about who is the GOAT but how big the gap will be between the GOAT and the second best who is Rafa and third best, Roger? Will Novak end his career with only 4 Slams more than Roger? And with only 2 more GS than Rafa? Will Novak increase his record of weeks as nr.1 or will he stay at 380 weeks? Will Novak increase his number of times finishing the year as nr.1? He has done it 8 times. Will Novak win just 1 more Monte Carlo and thus have won all M1000 at least 3 times instead of 2 times as is the case right now? Will Novak win his Wimbledon nr.8 which would be 1 more than Roger who won WB 7 times? And so on... and so on... the GOAT story hasn´t finished yet. Just sit back and enjoy the journey! (-:

What is really incredible about that gold medal match is that although Djokovic won 11 more points in the match than Alcaraz, 9 of those points came from the tiebreaks. That is EXTREMELY even outside of the tiebreaks Despite being primarily a clay guy Alcaraz seems to struggle on clay more than every surface except indoor hard courts and I think that gave Djokovic enough wiggle room to win the match.
This is what great Nick Bollettieri said on Novak back in 2014, far earlier than Novak has broken all the records: "As I travel the world representing the IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis Program, I am often asked who, in my opinion, is the best tennis player ever in the history of tennis. In this article I will not answer this question but will go on the line to describe who I believe is the most perfect tennis machine, similar to the F-18 Navy Fighter Jet: Novak Djokovic. Let me start out by saying there is never anything that is absolutely perfect. However, as I go back in time (60 years) and think about all of the players I’ve had the privilege of watching, I believe Novak’s overall game, including the mental and physical parts, may be as perfect as I’ve seen. " "Novak has new responsibilities including a new wife and a new child. It will be very interesting to see how Novak handles these new pressures. My opinion is that he will be a fabulous father and will always be at or near the top of the game for the rest of his career." I know, Novak's career isn't over quite yet, but damn, Nick's vision is amazing, he was so damn right. Novak has been at or near the top these past ten years. This is actually mind-blowing almost, the level of his understanding of the game of tennis.
I do feel a lot of Roger's majors were during a weak era. Early-mid 2000s was probably the weakest era in tennis ever. However, Roger was still winning a lot into 2007-2008, when Rafa was coming into greatness and Novak was starting to show his talents as well, so obviously he wasn't only winning because of a weak era. Federer still won some tournaments through the 2010s as well, in fact, more than most other players still. However, Rafa and Novak had to compete in the golden era of tennis for most of their titles. Novak and Rafa were neck and neck during the 2010s, and Novak was mainly behind because Rafa's early start as a teen tennis prodigy. Many used "Federer is old" argument for why Novak was able to beat him. Now many of those same people, who say Alcaraz is an amazing tennis player and will be one of the greatest, are also saying that Djokovic is only winning because of a weak era. Well, he's either beating a great player, or he's winning because of a weak field. It cannot be both. Also, if Alcaraz is so great (which he is), then so must Sinner be, as Sinner and Alcaraz have a close H2H. Then also, Zverev and Medvedev must be very good as well, since they compete in this group. The people who hate Djokovic need to have severe cognitive dissonance to cope with the situation it seems.
The stats didn't show how Djokovic beat Alcaraz very well at all. You would need to rely on the eye test. Those angles with velocity that Novak was giving Alcaraz were the ultimate level. Little things like that are why Djokovic became the GOAT. Hopefully, Novak can win a few more slams to break the tie with Margaret Court and a few more masters with Monte Carlo to complete the triple golden masters
More DjokerRitos coming in '24-'25. Thanx Matt-meister!!! Olympics Gold: Great serving. Great opportunities for both on break points. Amazing execution-both. Novak’s serving, volleying & crushing piercing forehands were the difference during both sets-w/paper-thin seemingly highest-level stuff. Then, in the tiebreaks, Nole just raised his level & closed them both out with serving, execution, mental toughness & sublime top-tier finishing of points-especially the crushing forehands cross-court & inside-in. Almost flawless tennis from both! WHOA!!! 😊 Cheers, Milan
One or two more slams.... that's what I am hoping for as the cherry on top 🙂 But even if it doesn't happen the dude defeated tennis 😂 One of the greatest athletes to compete in sports and certainly now by far greatest ever in tennis!
No argument! Djoker is my hero! Ever since he entered the tennis court with no win to his name. There was just something you cannot define in a champion that I saw with Nole right away on that day!!!
Forced errors: Alcaraz 43, GOAT 24. Massive difference and key differentiator in the win.

You can add in the fact Novak leads the head to head against both Nadal and Federer. The most important Stat to me is weeks at number 1. He has almost double the weeks than Nadal and over 100 weeks more than Federer. Another fact. Nadal won the Australia Slam when Novak was expelled for POLITICAL reasons. So barring that it is very likely Novak would be at 25 Slams and Nadal at 21. Nadal has not beaten Novak on a hard court since 2016.
Also booing, they are booing because he is not " gentleman", bullcrap, they are booing him because they knew back then every time he won it was so obvious he was treating their legacy, the way he lost to them and the way he won was so obvious who was the GOAT, and the crowd felt it.
The day Novak won Wimbledon over Roger against the whole center court is the day I fell in love with him, and it wasn’t yesterday. He’s the underdog, the unloved by the mass, the black sheep, I just love him as a whole, even his personality is greater than Rafa and Roger hands down. I will never forget how he stained his career at the US Open a couple of years ago though, but apart from that he’s been blameless and always top class, nobody can talk sheet about Novak without being completely biased. Novak in 2028 ? I think it’s delusional, if he wins a couple more Slams that would already be insane
@@egyptianhibiscus9203 he clear hit the line judge on purpose, go watch it again. He stained his career on that day, and he shall never be forgiven for it in my sight, but I love the player nonetheless, he’s clearly the greatest man who’s ever played tennis, he owns it like no other and it’s beyond comprehension to see all he’s achieved in 15 years but if anything I hate biased people, so I can’t be biased, what he did in New York 3 years ago was ugly af, and his face doesn’t show lack of remorse, he was just playing comedy « being sorry » and felt ashamed in the same time. He had a long guilty face. He was losing and was pissed, shot a ball straight behind towards the line judge with full intention out of frustration straight towards the lines judge throat, and at that distance no pro player misses. Neither Roger nor Nadal ever did such a thing in their entire careers. Novak had been extremely violent out of frustration at times, almost like a mad man, but breaking a racket is more than ok, shouting like a psycho also, i used to play tennis myself, i know the tension, but this incident was nasty, I will never forget it. He had never done such a thing before, and since that day he’s been blameless, but yeah, in my eyes he stained his career and again, God being my witness, he’s been my favorite for more than 10 years while everybody was throwing crap at him and wanted him to lose constantly, but I always knew he was the greatest.
Grand slams won aged 30 and over: Federer 6 Nadal 8 Djokovic 12 The age excuse Federer and Nadal fans resort to doesn't wash, Djokovic has won half of his GS titles aged 30 and older, Federer and Nadal won the bulk of theirs before hitting 30.
Omg I love your show, you are hilarious 😂Novak's victory was amazing to see, it's been a week and I still can't believe it. Literally felt like a fairy tale and cinematic ending after all he's been through this year. Hoping he can continue to win more! He truly is the GOAT
Hi Matt! If he is healthy and motivated he still has, in my opinion, around 75% chances in any match. The problem now is that the probability of him being healthy and motivated is declining. Let's enjoy while possible 😉
16:42 Matt, Alcaraz is still the youngest tennis player to win an Olympic silver medal in history. He has four more opportunities to win a singles gold medal before reaching Djokovic's current age, which is crazy to think about.
Djokovic just had a weight lifted off his shoulders after winning that Gold For Serbia, his desire to win for his country was huge. The emotional reaction he had after winning was very special. So maybe he can play the next year completely relaxed. That could make him very dangerous or it could leave him less Drive to win. We will know soon enough!
Roger and Nadal came after Agassi and Sampras.... Go Djokovic ....your children saw daddy become an gold medal Olympian!!! Alcaraz is good but his style of tennis will bring injuries too much on the body.. .he's not flexable.
Overall I think Nadal had the heaviest competition from which to take the majors. But Djokovic is the GOAT because he overcame injuries to outlast Nadal. He even had to lose something like 1.5 years due to covid and his stance on vaccines.
Novak also had to face ATG's on route to winning almost everything. He never got a break and still won. The brief period where he had a window 2020-2022, but he was deported, barred, libel'd, etc. Otherwise without that confidence Alcaraz got from winning the USO, I doubt he'd have the confidence to beat Novak later on. Just look at some of the players he had to beat in his past not just Nadal, Fed, Murray or now Alcaraz but look at 2013 AO, in the QF he had to beat a super peak Wawrinka and that was just a QF match.
Anyone with a shred of objectivity can see Djokovic is the best of the last 20 years (I don't like comparing across generations as so much changes but easy pick for GOAT if you wanna start using that terminology). There's no point making roundabout arguments when he beat all before him & essentially owns every record worth owning. I would argue there are several slams where he was the clear favourite that he didn't win for whatever reason (Wimby 20 - not held due to covid, USO 20 - throated umpire, AO 22 - deported, potentially FO 22 - undercooked from no warmup tournaments due to vaccine stance, potentially USO 22 - absent due to vaccine stance). Rafa can have a similar argument with his injury record too but I would argue he wasn't the clear & obvious favourite for so many slams missed as Djokovic was for those listed. My (& the majority's) favourite will always be Roger, & we all know why - if you want to introduce someone to tennis as a sport, you'd just show them Federer. Don't even watch the other player, just watch Federer. You want to show an alien what the sport of tennis is about? Watch Roger Federer. The biggest reason for me why Wimby 19 will forever be a tragedy is because Roger figured out Rafa in his late career flourish & he so nearly figured out Novak but the mental block still stopped him. If he had beat Djokovic at the age of 38 in the Wimbledon final then it would've forever felt like Roger figured it all out in the end like he was always supposed to & his talent shone above all else & it wouldn't have mattered that he ended with fewer slams. As it is it will forever be a what if instead & that's fine too, life's often more interesting that way & all the more beautiful for it. But yeah, don't try being like "it's all subjective" now when you guys were all too happy to declare Roger the GOAT for so long. Djokovic unmatched on practically every metric & it was when I saw the start of his late career flourish with the improved serve, volleying & increased aggression that I accepted it (years ago now) - trust me, you'll be more at peace once you do :D
PS Alcaraz is the GOAT - no player I've ever seen has a higher ceiling (not talking achievements yet obviously). Has all the consistency of Novak & the ability to hit any shot from anywhere but also that X factor of Roger & Rafa e.g. 100mph+ forehands, the most delicate volleys, the best lobs of all time. If he incorporates the one thing that I've seen Novak do better than anyone ever, which is to always make the correct decision at the correct time, then he will be truly unstoppable. He's practically already a cheat code if you were trying to build the perfect player. The other one who fascinates me that I've never gone back to watch is Borg - winning Wimbledon & French Open on the bounce repeatedly when the surfaces were actually night & day, missing the AO all the time & retiring at 26 with 11 slams. Also highest ever win percentage after Novak & Rafa.
FO 2022, undercooked from no warmup tournaments due to vaccine stance. Err, what? Novak played all 3 Masters 1000 tournaments on clay in 2022. Novak lost 2nd round of Monte Carlo to Davidovich Fokina, lost an epic semi final to Alcaraz in Madrid and then he won Rome without dropping a set. He had multiple clay warmup tournaments so I don't know where you got that from.
🐐 broke Federer at the 2010 US Open he hasn’t been the same Imagine his era was so weak dude was able to win 5 consecutive us open until Del Potro stopped him in 2009
@@fg92626 The original comment literally said FO 22 though, not 2020. Anyway as for 2020 both played the same clay tournaments as most of them were cancelled due to covid. Novak and Rafa had the same warm up, both played Rome and that was it. Novak won there while Rafa lost in the quarter finals to Schwartzman.
Lucky? Look at the eight Grand Slam titles from mid-2016 to mid-2018 won by Federer, Nadal and Murray while Nole was injured. Before and after that period Nole was absolutely dominant. He won 5 of 6 GS titles before and 5 of 7 after that period. Imagine what the stats would look like if that injury didn't happen?
Imagine what the stats would look if Nadal had never been injured! and Nadal only lost to Soderling in 2009 RG because he was upset over his parent's divorce! Federer was "lucky" he didn't have to play Nadal in 2009 Wimbledon, Djokovic was "lucky" 2016 RG that Nadal pulled out due to injury in the 3rd round and didn't have to go through Nadal in the SF to win his first RG. Stupid argument, isn't it? Injuries are part if the game to a greater/lesser extent for some players for a variety of factors: genetics/play style/luck etc. It's part of tennis/life.
@@AminorMorning Not true; false. Nadal never said he was "injured" before RG, during or prior facing Robin Soderling, after beating Lleyton Hewitt. Actually Nadal said in the press conference "I felt good on the court, Hewitt is always dangerous, but i felt good". If Nadal had won that 4th set tibreaker against Soderling and won that match he would have continued through the RG quarter finals and who knows if the could have won against Federer, whom was playing great tennis and had beaten Nadal in Madrid weeks prior. That divorce thing and injured was the perfect excuse he made trying to manipulate the world why he´d lost and make himself look good, but the truth is he was overplayed by a better player on the day. He was so in shock seing himself kicked butt and so out of confidence that he knew he wasnt going to beat Federer at Wimbledon, especially seing Roger win his 14th major tying Sampras at RG. Then 2016; Djokovic had destroyed Nadal at Doha 2016 and also beating him at Rome, and also Nadal had lost to Murray that same year on clay. Nadal knew Djokovic was flying, and he knew, after losing to him in 2015 on RG, that he would probably also lose to Djokovic again. So after seing Djokovic´s level decided to "retire" from the tournament. So its bul%$$# saying that Djokovic won because he didnt had to face Nadal. Finally: Injuries are part of the game yes, but Nadal was been inventing injuries when he needed them, to mask the fact that he knew he wasnt going to beat Federer or Djokovic, specially at the second half of the year; Nadal has retired more than 10 times from a lot of tournaments during the fall and through the end of the year, just because he knew he wasnt very good indoors and it was Federer´s and Djokovic´s best surface. They were fast court specialists. He has retired of some ATP Finals (never winning there), AO, Wimbledons and US Opens, but NEVER from RG but 2023, when he knew he had no chance against Alcaraz or Djokovic. Knowing this he decides to retire from all competition all year and declaring himself "injured" again. 2024 not injured? he is 38 years old and he is not injuring himself, but he was injuring himself when he was younger? Nadal has not said he is injured this year because he knows that its his last year, (he has that injured narrative under control), it wouldnt make sense to say he is injured when he is deciding to play his last tournaments. So that "injured" thing has not come without being well planned. Nadal has tried to sell the lie that he could have won much more if he would have been healthier during his carreer without injuries, but you need to remember that Nadal has been injured only in surfaces where he has had his worst results. Nadal was never injured during the clay seasons, he always played full clay seasons, Nadal won 14 garroses, over 10 Montecarlos, Romes, Barcelonas, Madrid etc etc .. and never "injured" then? Why? ... very suspicious ... clay is the most brutal, the body suffers much more during the extended rallies, but Nadal was never injured during the clay seasons and injured in surfaces where the points are much shorter? So no, Nadal has been conveniently manipulating the world with his "injured" narrative.
Nole ALWAYS wins the most brutal way possible... imaginable, but this time was even more brutal with all the thing that we know, like the knee... the age... the oponents... My Lord... the surface... the hate.. The Undisputable GOAT of the GOATs. What a previllege to be alive at his time. What privilege did Nadal and RF had to be able to try to compete against him.
A faith led hero who champions personal health care choices when it comes to what is injected into his body, for himself and others. Standing firm in his convictions has already cost him possible three or four less major tennis championships that he was not allowed to compete in. He said the principle of personal health care choice was a greater priority based on his faith based convictions as a Christian. That’s a hero in today’s authoritarian medical world being pushed by governments.
You either believe the context of competition is important or you don’t. If you didn’t, the Olympics were irrelevant and Novak was already the GOAT, if you did, and are not a goal post shifter (looking at you, Fed fans), then they were still not relevant because today’s field is still not at its peak. Sinner and Alacaraz for example are yet to enter the peak of their career arcs. Not that Novak is in it either, he has bent time more than anyone in the history of this sport. Point being, the Olympics didn’t add anything new to this conversation, Novak had the strongest argument before the tournament and still does after the tournament.
nobody cares about Novak tbh and Federer & Nadal were both much better, he couldn't beat Nadal until his knee gave up, he couldn't beat Federer until he turned 35... Djokovic had to wait for Fedal to leave their prime before he even had a shot lol
With the complete Gold medal, on paper Djokovic is no question the greatest Tennis player of all time. However he does not get the respect of Federer or Nadal, a quote by Mike Tyson "greatness is being accepted by the people" and I don't think Djokovic will ever be accepted by the people or loved as much as his rivals.

He is also a great person, human being. He donated and helped so much. He has now received 200,000 euros from the Serbian government for the gold medal, and he has donated the entire sum for humanitarian purposes.
It seems rediculous to still argue for the GOAT. Djokovic is discussing with History as the greatest athlete (not tennis) of all times
👏👏👏

Weak era argument for a Novak is ridiculous. Nadal is just 1 year older than him. They’ve experienced the SAME eras together.
Carlos is amazing, Novak beat him at 37 and didn't lose a set.
And Roger played for 15 years with Novak in the same era. Roger was just 23 when Novak started. We can't say he was old.
2010-2020 is the most competitive era of tennis. Novak dominated that era.
2017 - 2020 wasn’t really that competitive imo
Because Djokovic was injured for 1.5 years of that which gave 2 slams to fed and nadal. Then djokovic went right back to winning
@@dominickrobinson332in 2017 and half of 2018 he was injured so if you say that that year wasnt competitive you wqnt to say that Nadal and Federer were weak players and were sharing 6 slams only because Novak was not there . The funny thing is that counting the Olympics as a "big title" only started because of Fedal fans who wanted Rafa to have something that Nole didn't, but now it's backfired because Roger doesn't have one and Novak does.
I like this podcast. The setting, the topic, the discussion and the tone. Not boring
We can also say that federer won his first GS titles when Djoko and Nadal were too young.
they weren't his rivals. It was Agassi, Hewitt, Roddick, Safin, Moya, Juan Carlos Ferrero (Carlos's coach)
As they say, “Haters gonna hate.” Let them hate. Numbers don’t lie though. Novak is the GOAT 🐐

Novak is the eternal champion
EVEN djokovic second era from 2018-2021 was stronger then federer era from 2004-2007.
Federer and nadal from 2018-2021 were defently better as opponent , then djokovic and nadal from 2004-2007.
Federer was 10years almost without any serious rival before Rafa and then Novak came up
There isn't even a discussion about who the GOAT IS....CLEARLY DJOKOVIC

That is EXTREMELY even outside of the tiebreaks
Despite being primarily a clay guy Alcaraz seems to struggle on clay more than every surface except indoor hard courts and I think that gave Djokovic enough wiggle room to win the match.
This is what great Nick Bollettieri said on Novak back in 2014, far earlier than Novak has broken all the records:
"As I travel the world representing the IMG Academy Bollettieri Tennis Program, I am often asked who, in my opinion, is the best tennis player ever in the history of tennis.
"Novak has new responsibilities including a new wife and a new child. It will be very interesting to see how Novak handles these new pressures. My opinion is that he will be a fabulous father and will always be at or near the top of the game for the rest of his career."
I know, Novak's career isn't over quite yet, but damn, Nick's vision is amazing, he was so damn right. Novak has been at or near the top these past ten years. This is actually mind-blowing almost, the level of his understanding of the game of tennis.
LIVIN LA VIDA DJOKA ❤🎉

Another fact. Nadal won the Australia Slam when Novak was expelled for POLITICAL reasons. So barring that it is very likely Novak would be at 25 Slams and Nadal at 21. Nadal has not beaten Novak on a hard court since 2016.
On hard courts, Nadal hasnt taken a set of Djokovic since 2013.
Stained his career...? How? It was an accident
I agree Matt if 🐐would have pick one trophy in 2024 it would have been olympic gold
Grand slams won aged 30 and over:
Federer 6
Nadal 8
Djokovic 12
The age excuse Federer and Nadal fans resort to doesn't wash, Djokovic has won half of his GS titles aged 30 and older, Federer and Nadal won the bulk of theirs before hitting 30.
Novak Djokovic cemented his legacy as the GOAT 👏👏🥇🥇🐐🐐
Novak will always be the GOAT in my book, because he withstood the “vaccine”-terror.
They get on my freaking nerves every time they talk about weak era.
9:19 🥈😂🤣😂😂 #NovakIsGOAT ☕️🎾🇷🇸🥇
16:42 Matt, Alcaraz is still the youngest tennis player to win an Olympic silver medal in history. He has four more opportunities to win a singles gold medal before reaching Djokovic's current age, which is crazy to think about.
Just because he has opportunities doesn t mean that he Will win. Roger never did.
@@cloudman8911Absolutely true.
olympics were never a big event in tennis only after novak came close to the GS race people started considering olympics as well.
LET'S GOOOOOO NOLEEEEE 🥳🥳🥳🥇🥇🥇🐐🐐🐐🙌🙌🙌
Djokovic just had a weight lifted off his shoulders after winning that Gold For Serbia, his desire to win for his country was huge. The emotional reaction he had after winning was very special. So maybe he can play the next year completely relaxed. That could make him very dangerous or it could leave him less Drive to win. We will know soon enough!
It's always a pleasure to listen to you talking about Novak. Thank you, Matt.💋
As a Nadal fan I should say that the ranking between the three Goats goes undoubtedly like this Djokovic 1#, Nadal 2#, Federer 3#
It was the lst serve that made the difference
Yes. On that given day under lot of pressure he delivers❤
Good stuff Matt. 1 thing u didn't mention.. the goats numbers would be even larger if it was for his outrageous bans for been a " health risk "
Roger and Nadal came after Agassi and Sampras.... Go Djokovic ....your children saw daddy become an gold medal Olympian!!! Alcaraz is good but his style of tennis will bring injuries too much on the body.. .he's not flexable.
i am afraid you are right...he is following rafa's trail
A one and only Nole ❤❤❤
@@ashleythomas4112it was the 2020 Roland Garros in autumn
🐐 broke Federer at the 2010 US Open he hasn’t been the same Imagine his era was so weak dude was able to win 5 consecutive us open until Del Potro stopped him in 2009
@@fg92626 The original comment literally said FO 22 though, not 2020. Anyway as for 2020 both played the same clay tournaments as most of them were cancelled due to covid. Novak and Rafa had the same warm up, both played Rome and that was it. Novak won there while Rafa lost in the quarter finals to Schwartzman.
Surprised to see that Roger had no olympic gold.
In the doubles he has but not in singles
List of legendary to great tennis players Novak had to play against: Federer, Nadal, Murray, Wawrinka, Roddick, Nalbandian, Davydenko, Berdych, Gonzales, Hewitt, Haas, Tsonga, Ljubicic, Safin, Del Potro, Cilic, Raonic, Thiem, Nishikori, Isner, Monfils, Gasquet, Baghdatis, Ferrer, Ferrero, Verdasco, Youzhny, Robredo, Lopez, Moya, Blake, Ancic, Karlovic, Tipsarevic, Gulbis, Soderling, Dimitrov, Zverev, Medvedev, Rublev, Tsitsipas, Berettini, Kyrgios, Alcaraz, Sinner, Rune
If he took the clot shot he would have zero more championships.
Nice to see the throwback with MrGoat
Yeh that Facebook page is run by a salty Nadal fan
NoVaxx: Call me the Master
Novax is the 🐐🔥🐐🔥🐐🔥🐐
He's been the GOAT for a while now. The Olympic gold just shuts out the naysayers
nobody cares about Novak tbh and Federer & Nadal were both much better, he couldn't beat Nadal until his knee gave up, he couldn't beat Federer until he turned 35... Djokovic had to wait for Fedal to leave their prime before he even had a shot lol
I think Nole will finish with 26 grand slam victory. He will win two major, not one. You'll see :)
Novak Djokovic, The Greatest Of All Time 🐐🐐🐐🐐
