This was a wonderful message. I know some don’t understand about the list of sins. It gives us an opportunity to reflect what we have done. The truth is many of our sins are super long (at list mine are). When the enemy reminds me, I am grateful to bring it to my Father. There is nothing wrong with trusting and loving Jesus so much that you desire to please Him by walking in obedience. Live life in worship of Him.

I feel like this was the most important topic. Pastor Doug didn't hold back, and gave all the best illustrations of God's love for us. The one that got me was when the parents saying how they loved their son who passed away, they said "how we loved him so". And in John 3:16 "for God so loved...", just that one word "so" makes it so much more meaningful. The other illustration that got me was the man who had to sacrifice his boy to save the train.

I just listened to Pr. Doug talk on Daniel 9 : 24-27 --- and he interprets the phrase - and the people of the Prince to come as Titus the Roman General who destroyed Jerusalem in Ad 70 ...but the Prince to come was - Christ, he is called the Prince in Isa. 9.6, Acts 5. 31-2, Daniel 9.25 Messiah the prince Dan. 12. 1 Michael your Prince, And the people who destroyed the city were the Jews because they rebelled against Rome in 64 Ad and in DA 165 it says the Jews virtually destroyed their Temple....So, as I said , Pr. Doug is a good bible student but he is not infallible...if you want to listen to the sermon - go to --daniel 9/dougbatchelor...so, as you sent me your quote about being critical - am I critical because I know my bible and the truth it contains???

your bad habits are no worse than the habits of others, just different. So, the answer to victory is to acknowledge them and then seek the Lord in prayer but you must also read the bible and spiritual books to develop in you a new life that has understanding. Plus, a good church helps. If you have the book Steps to Christ that would be a good book to read to give you knowledge in the journey of growth. But you must pray and study every day and be open to sharing your faith.

Thank youPastor Doug---You answered a question I had been having about figures of Jesus on the cross, bust of Him out of olive wood from Jerusalem, birds, animals, etc. I am much relieved, though I kind of figured (HolySpirit?) the worship thing might factor in. I am never really sure if it is me or God "talking" in my head.😬

Belief & faith I would say are not the same. To have faith we must believe however someone can believe but not have faith.
Faith require blind trust, complete handing over of self control, total submission to the belief.
    On the other hand
I may believe all the above but I can't bring myself to completely give up control of my being and submit wholly.
Eg. Faith is where I believe in the dark even without seeing I can keep walking as there is definitely a path infront of me but if I have no faith, I may believe the path is there but just too afraid to take the step because I'm afraid of the dark, I don't trust the path to be sufficient.

Quote - page 107 Faith & Works.-- the soul who sees Jesus by faith sees his faith as insufficient - his strongest faith as feebleness - his most costly sacrifice as meager and repudiates his own righteousness.

You do not write down the number of sins in one's life or we'd need another lifetime. We verbally or mentally acknowledge the principle of sin that controlled our lives and that separated us from God---I have deep problems with this part of the sermon and the attempt at detail to tell others what to do. Do I list every cigarette I smoked or how many times I cursed using God's name, etc. And pastor Doug, aren't all things placed on a computer retrievable by the wrong people? This, boarders on legalism and dysfunction. (just my humble opinion)

Someone is including those sexual things among pastor Batchelors sermon titles.

36 Truly I say to you: All these things will come upon this generation.
37 O Yerusalem! Yerusalem! You who murder the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings but you were not willing!
38 +Behold! Your house is left to you deserted!
39 For I say to you: From this moment you will not see Me, until you say: +Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of Father YAHweh!

repentance is not required before we come to Christ-- we come to Christ just as we are and he gives us the spirit of repentance according to Acts 5. 31 ...we shouldn't put up barriers for people in coming to Christ , for repentance is an ongoing experience from Christian growth...we can't say this is the attitude or emotion you must have to give evidence of true repentance - we should let people grow from where they are...getting into the minutia of details for someone else is more than dangerous and not very wise...read Steps to Christ page 26 it says - repentance is not to be an obstacle between the sinner and Christ...So, Pastor Doug, the Holy Spirit will teach and lead each person in the process of repentance because it is not a cookie-cutter experience for everyone. And even if you were right in your details it is experienced differently by everyone and it takes much time for some to understand the magnitude of their offensiveness to God....so, let's not become "Papa" for the church. Preach the cross but leave the details for God to teach and grow each person. You are opening up a potential chasm of doubt and guilt for the person with an over sensitive conscience.....when you try to explain our need for deep regret or emotional response you are taking the place of the holy spirit in that person's life. John 16: 7-13 tells me the holy spirit will guide me in conviction of sin and all truth. Your understanding or experience is not a template for others.

@@t81629 under the umbrella - did I repent of all my sins --was my repentance sufficient - you must read between the lines....and listen well...and not allowing others to find their own path in repentance and growth. That's my perception.....we may be correct in our view but it is our view for us and not someone else

@@DavidKing-qd3sp "But the servant of God is soon made aware that he has risked something. He finds himself and his message made the subject of criticism. His manners, his life, his property are all inspected and commented upon. His message is picked to pieces and rejected in the most illiberal and unsanctified spirit, as men in their finite judgment see fit. Has that message done the work God designed it should accomplish? No; it has signally failed, because the hearts of the hearers were unsanctified. " Ellen White 2BC 1034.2

@@t81629 I appreciate your comment but I have to say everything has a context...It is good to correct others in spiritual truth...no man speaks theologically correct all the time...and I could give you many examples of that with many Preachers.

      @DavidKing-qd3sp 3 года назад

@@t81629 ........what he could have / should have said was this: repent from your sins in the context of turning away from present known sins. And that over time the Holy Spirit would give people conviction over the offensiveness of their sins to God and that His Holy Spirit would prompt them to sorrow for the sins that crucified Christ. Everybody has a different understanding of what it means to repent, for some, it is merely turning to righteous living, for others it is deep contrition. But my point was leave the details to the Holy Spirit, and not add another burden to the converts life. To say, write out your sins and confess them is not necessary, for people know the sins they have committed. Plus, putting sins on a computer can be dangerous if someone gets access to your files. As the Prophet - Kahil Gibran said...we must leave a distance between the trees for them to grow.
