I trusted him and got the good Vigilante ending first, but on my second playthrough I saw this and really was heartbroken. Both endings crushed me as I saw these two characters who were best friends actually fall apart in a believable, well written way. I knew John was gone but still held out hope as long as I could. I think Bruce was heartbroken as he didn't realise but he sympathised for John and in the end did consider him one of his best friends, and John fell in love with Bruce despite everything. This scene captured all of this wonderfully, I honestly don't know how they'll top this season. This is Telltales best game yet in my opinion.

I think that this scene was designed so that those fans who do not like the ship can say "you can tell that to a friend too" at the same time that the who ship it can get confession they wanted. Freeing telltale of the rejection they could receive from those who did not support the ship.

Honestly I liked the vigilante story better. Because, even though it gives you that option to make Batman and Joker enemies, it pretty much sets off that dynamic relationship between those two, whereas in my opinion, the villain story kinda rushes it. When they officially became enemies in that story the Joker was beyond heart broken from what Bats did, but at the same time gave him a sense of purpose of who he was truly meant to become. Joker believed it was his destiny to be the mortal enemy of the Batman and he's gonna enjoy it. The villain story was cool, but I think it would have been alot better ending the game the vigilante story.

Why do people always work around the obvious? It is a love confession, I'm certain. I even did an analysis on the fight after this, because it's a romantic tragedy. You can deny it all you like, but that's what it is. Telltale knew what they were doing with their relationship, and I understood it. You can dislike the ship, but you can't deny that that's what they were going for. And you claiming that Bruce and John had girlfriends means nothing, because Bruce's relationship with Catwoman is up the player, and John has loved Bruce for years (in the vigilante route, he said he collected tabloid photos of Bruce for years, and said he wanted to be loved by Bruce). Besides, a person can love more than one person.

Ok the title of this video is misleading. John Doe was actually a true friend to Bruce always having his back. Bruce loved John yes, but as a friend or as a brother, and seeing John descend into madness and becoming the joker broke his heart because Bruce knows he could have saved him from becoming the monster he is now. Bruce did love John but not in a gay way.

I think that would ultimately depend on the player. Some play Bruce as gay, others as bisexual, & others as straight, and telltale deliberately places romantic subtext between both if you choose to view their relationship as them being something more than friends.
I played vigilanty best bro Joker. I also chose romance with Catwoman, and didn't betray either. I also chose to be Tiffany's mentor. It's just what my vision of Batman would do. I like that in the TT games you can in a sense make your own Batman. In this whole game you made your own Joker. Great idea these guys had. Just wish they came out with the whole game at once.
I was a massive asshole to everyone but John, when catwoman wanted to leave Gotham I insulted her and in season 2 chose all the negative options but ended up saving her from the agency in the end, I also chastised Tiffany at every stage after the funeral and almost ruined my relationship with Gordon, I like to think my Bruce was snapping under the pressure of everything and thought everyone was out against him apart from John who was his only friend.
I didn’t go down this path when I played this for the first time, but I did go for this ending and my god did it completely change how I saw this series. Like at the beginning I thought it was some cheap cash grab but this game completely turned it around, bravo telltale!

plus the parallels between joker and harley, the fight choreography, their positioning at the end of the episode...
oh yeah just two completely Straight Men, let’s forget that the entire episode was literally john flipping out because he felt rejected by bruce as if he was his ex, lol. and if you choose to say to john “please don’t let her kill me” harley gets pissed off because she knows that bruce means more to john than she does overall.

1) what’s so wrong with him being portrayed as being in love with a man? stfu with your homophobic ass
2) joker and batman have had a LOOOONG history of subtext between them in so many interpretations, i mean just look at the arkham series for example....and also people completely lapped up the portrayal in lego batman because when it came down to it, yes, it is like bats and joker are essentially a couple. obviously not the most tasteful of relationships, but this is the joker we are dealing with. any relationship is gonna be Fucked Up. however, with what telltale is doing with joker, you can at least understand why a lot more people are gravitating towards the potential of them becoming a couple or proclaiming their love or whatever m.
3) “bUT bROoSe iS CaNOnIcALlY sTRaiGHt” in many depictions he is, yes! and even in telltale you have that option! but many players would prefer to play a batman who is potentially bisexual or even gay. telltale is a completely new universe from any other, so if they wanna explore batman’s sexuality who are you to turn around and be like “GRRR BUT I WANT MY BATCAT” when you...still have that option. lol.

Bruce does not mean this in a gay way he simply means that they were great friends and he is heart broken that Jon would do this... after all both Bruce (batman) and John (joker) have girl friends depending on the choices you make
You can also understand this scene as a confession though. It's all up to the player. And them having relationships with women doesn't really mean anything, since bisexual people exist.
Why do people always work around the obvious? It is a love confession, I'm certain. I even did an analysis on the fight after this, because it's a romantic tragedy. You can deny it all you like, but that's what it is. Telltale knew what they were doing with their relationship, and I understood it. You can dislike the ship, but you can't deny that that's what they were going for. And you claiming that Bruce and John had girlfriends means nothing, because Bruce's relationship with Catwoman is up the player, and John has loved Bruce for years (in the vigilante route, he said he collected tabloid photos of Bruce for years, and said he wanted to be loved by Bruce). Besides, a person can love more than one person.

Ok the title of this video is misleading. John Doe was actually a true friend to Bruce always having his back. Bruce loved John yes, but as a friend or as a brother, and seeing John descend into madness and becoming the joker broke his heart because Bruce knows he could have saved him from becoming the monster he is now. Bruce did love John but not in a gay way.
I agree but I wouldn’t say Bruce knew he could save John from becoming the Joker as in the Vigilante play through he goes mad either way, he just says that John broke his heart because it’s hard seeing a friend that you cared about go mad and become your worst enemy
I think that would ultimately depend on the player. Some play Bruce as gay, others as bisexual, & others as straight, and telltale deliberately places romantic subtext between both if you choose to view their relationship as them being something more than friends.

I played vigilanty best bro Joker. I also chose romance with Catwoman, and didn't betray either. I also chose to be Tiffany's mentor. It's just what my vision of Batman would do. I like that in the TT games you can in a sense make your own Batman. In this whole game you made your own Joker. Great idea these guys had. Just wish they came out with the whole game at once.

I was a massive asshole to everyone but John, when catwoman wanted to leave Gotham I insulted her and in season 2 chose all the negative options but ended up saving her from the agency in the end, I also chastised Tiffany at every stage after the funeral and almost ruined my relationship with Gordon, I like to think my Bruce was snapping under the pressure of everything and thought everyone was out against him apart from John who was his only friend.

I didn’t go down this path when I played this for the first time, but I did go for this ending and my god did it completely change how I saw this series. Like at the beginning I thought it was some cheap cash grab but this game completely turned it around, bravo telltale!
