Growing up in the San Gabriel Valley, Big Bear was my families go to spot for year round camping. Back then we had 4x4 Ford Broncos & Chevy 4x4 Blazers with removable hardtops for summer driving. I remember one winter campout, a snow and rain storm came in, which made for horrid driving conditions. My dad would start with the oldest son who was there "Son? go out and lockup"
I wish my dad was alive today to see all the advancements in camping gear as well as 4x4 vehicles being able to switch into 4x4 with a turn of a dial or push of a button inside the cab, never having to go lock up the front tires.

Nice! Those are classic off-roaders that fetches huge prices in the market now. Thanks for sharing your experience and for sure wherever your Dad is, he is happy that his legacy and the lands that he took care and enjoyed with your family before is in good hands and continue to be enjoyed by everyone.
